The man across the street from us when I was growing up was named Otto. He used to scare me though  He spoke very little English.

Actually William Otto goes very nicely.

What nationality does that name come from?

One of my husbands grandfathers name was Kars (sounds more like kerse than cars) My brother in law has that for a middle name, my husband ended up with Roy as a middle name. Where that ever came from I have not clue because my inlaws were Dutch immigrants straight from Holland and I don't think there are any Roy's over there:confused:

Not too bad, myself, folks. Abnormally tired. 2:35am is relatively early for me...maybe I should quit studying for a while...LOL :teacher:

Otto is German...as am I...on my Fathers side...

Pop gave me a famly heirloom before he passed...

It's an Ingersoll double cased 22 Karat pocketwatch...

Inscribed in the back is...

"Otto W_______ Munich, Germany September 1913"

I'll pass it on to Billly the 3rd before my time comes...

It's really a gorgeous watch....

Here's a name for ya, it's becoming more popular these days, especially among girls, but we have 2 MALE Rory's in my family. I LOVE that name. My uncle, who was named after Rory Calhoun I guess , he was the 9th child to my grandparents, so I guess they ran out of ideas, and then my baby bro is also named Rory.

My youngest cousin is named after me! She just graduated high school. We're 24 years apart. :earseek: So, the oldest grandchild (me), and the youngest (my cousin) are named the same. Cool, huh? Wish we had our grandparents, but we have angels instead. ;)

BP, some things are just meant to be :p It would not be the same if it were anyone else but Mary Lou ( well except for maybe Hollyann:teeth: )

Kevin, maybe you should go to bed and try and catch up on your sleep.

What are you studying??

Isn't it nice to have family heirlooms like that Brer_Papa. There are lots of things in my husbands family but not many in mine. T

Does the watch still work?? My husband has a pocket watch that belonged to his grandfather and possibly to his great grandfather, we are not sure about that. The watch does not work anymore though. It didn't even work when he got it but he still cherishes because of who it belonged too.

When my grandmother died I got her Pyrex measuring cup:eek: . Oh well, I needed one so that is what I asked for. I also got a tea cup and saucer but I don't remember which one it is anymore.

In my family there are a lot of Beverley's. My dad's name is Beverley, he goes by Bev. My brother's name is Beverley John, but he goes by John. My nephew's name is Beverley Blake Allan but he goes by Blake and I have a female cousin whose name is Beverly Ann, without the e in Beverley. Yeow that is one lot of Beverley's which is not a really common male name to start with. All four of them have the same last name too!!!!

I've just started online courses to become a Travel Agent.....I may take your advice in a few minutos....::yes::

Robin, when my grandma died, I got her Sable waist-length jacket/cape. I used to wear it at her house for Dress-Up!!!! It was given to her by a wealthy patient's husband, before the patient passed away. My grandma was a private duty nurse. I have a few other personal belongings, nothing of value, except sentimental of course. :goodvibes The sable, well it hangs, covered, in my cedar closet. :( I never wear it. Maybe I should show my DD some day.

Yeah, Kim and if you show your daughter the coat she will probably say eeeewwww!!!! that's gross.

A travel agent huh, Kevin. I have a travel agent that I really like. The office only has two people working in it, the owner and one other girl. I used to deal only with the owner but I started talking with the other girl that works there. The owner of course will tell me what she thinks I want to hear, or what will be to her best benefit. I know I can trust the other girl to tell me what she really thinks about something or someplace.

I like it better that way. She is off for the summer and won't be back til school starts in September.

Okay....now I'm being flooded by emails...one for every reply to this thread.....:scared1:

I selected "no" for email notifications and am still getting them.....maybe it's a glitch or something...I haven't gotten email about replies to threads in months.

I dislike it very much when people are shady like that, Robin! Not me...for sure...lol. Who knows, maybe Dreams Unlimited can use an extra agent? :teeth:

I get those too Kevin, but only when I check my email.

It just shows me how chatty we have been that night;)

I went to check an hour ago and there were 38 :earseek: :earseek: new emails all posts from the thread killers thread :p

I guess we have been having fun tonight :thewave:

I don't really think she is shady so much as wanting to always paint a nice picture of things.

"oh yes you really should do this or that....." whereas I know that Amy will say, well, you know, I really don't think that ....... is as wonderful as some people say it is.

If she were shady I wouldn't deal with her. I know that I always get good service and sometimes beyond good service with this office, so even though I could easily book lots of things myself on the internet, I usually get them to do it for me instead.
