So does anybody remember/know when Kim is supposed to be back home again?????

MaMudduck has another week to go I think!!!

montessori..............hello...............where are you??????

:wave2: phil, thinking about you and wishing you well ::yes::

I just want to let you guys all know that I will be gone this weekend too!!! We are going to visit friends who have a farm in the north, 8 hours drive away. We are leaving early on Saturday morning and probably will be home sometime late on Sunday night. It is a long weekend here, so Monday is a holiday for us. The traffic will probably be really crazy with people coming and going from cottages in the north. So we are trying to avoid some of the traffice if we can.

I will miss you guys!! No computer where I am going:eek:

I will miss you guys!! No computer where I am going:eek:

aaaah...we will miss you too....but still hoping/wishing you have a great and fun time! :thewave: :cheer2:

mamajoan and Hollyann will have to keep you in line this weekend Brer_Papa!!

Maybe we can ask Hollyann to post more often to keep you company ;) or you could just try and drive Princess Ariel crazy!!!!!practice the fiddle or the one man band or your yodelling!

I think that you should take some time to do some experiments on the rules of post lengths!!!! That would be interesting.

If you are bored you can tell a whole bunch of stories, so I will have something to look forward to reading when I get back :p

I think that I read at least 90 % of the threads on the community board. I also read some of the other boards. I don't post to a lot of them, but I do have a look at what other people are saying. Sometimes I think to myself........hmmm........how long before this thread disappears or gets locked up ::yes::

Brer_Papa, I was watching some news on a Cleveland TV station today. When they showed the weather map, I saw Erie on it. I said.......................... HI BRER_PAPA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:teeth:

/
I was wondering why my ear was buzzing......now I know....

HI CRUISIN' !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It;s a good thing yu were watcjhing a Cleveland station....

weathermen around here couldn't find a correct weather report with a map, a flashlight, a boy scout helpng them and
neon lights illuminating the report....

uhmmm...what did Cleveland say? Rain? again?

partly dark changing to partly light at daybreak?

:wave2: steph!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brer_Papa, I believe Cleveland was saying mostly dark turning into mostly light by morning :teeth: No actually I think they said, you guys better watch out this weekend cause big storms may be heading your way, depending on which way the fronts go!!! There are possiblities of heavy rain on Saturday and Sunday, but guess what................ the weather will turn really nice for you on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday :p

Hey don't shoot the messenger, I am only repeating what I heard, I didn't make up the weather report. ;)

Thanks Cruisin'! ....i suppose I better get my rubber duckie for the weekend....or start building an ark...

this "summer" is rainier than last summer...

Oh sure....sunshine AFTER the weekend....figures...

oh well....i could practice juggling umbrella's....only this time I'll tape them shut so they won't open in midair...

kind of ruins the timing when they do that.....

Did I ever tell you guys about the stray cat that has been living at my house since the beginning of May? I don't think so.

We have 2 cats that live at our house already. One is ours, the other technically belongs to the next door neighbours but lives at our house  . That's okay, it is a good arrangement, we don't mind.

Well in early May this little white cat with a bit of black, brown and gray on top of its head started coming around. The thing was really scrawny, dirty and had the fur on the bottom half of it's body kind of shorter than the top half. Strange looking thing.

Even though our 2 cats did not appreciate it being around, it insisted on coming into the yard and forced it's way close to the other cats.

So of course I could not let it starve so I started to feed him and take care of him. I could not take him to the Humane Society because I knew what would happen to him there  :( My husband was quite adamant about 2 cats is enough.

But I continued to care for the stray, put flea preventive stuff on him, even took him to the vet and had his first vaccine and a rabies shot, so he wouldn't bring anything home to my cats. We tried to keep him mainly outside. He looks pretty good now.

All this time I have been looking for a new home for him, even though, I really think he wants to live at our house :p Well tomorrow, my son's girlfriend's grandmother is going to have a look at him, she wants a kitty and might take him. He is so cute and friendly, loves attention, purrs really loud.

Part of me hopes that he will have a home of his own, with someone to love him and take care of him..........the other part of me wishes he could just stay here with us. :sad1: I love him and pay attention to him and take care of him and I will miss him if he goes.

I wonder what goes through their minds when they make a move like that. I know he adjusted from where ever he originally came from to our house and will adjust again, but I feel bad taking him somewhere. I wonder if he will wonder why he was taken there, why he doesn't see me or the other cats anymore  Don't you wish animals could talk......or maybe we really don't want to know what they are thinking;)

I will let you know tomorrow if Jessica's grandma decides to keep our little White Cat (very original name huh ;) ) At least he will be going where I can get reports on him and my son will see him when he visits there.

(WOW, long post, !, Oh Oh I will be in trouble when Kim sees this :earseek: )

KITTIES!!! Cute... but sorry to say they would be primary SNACK food for our scotties! oh ya.. I own a couple of cat murders:eek: .....

I think Kims is in the Dells now... hopefully having a pancake at the Famous.. or rather INFAMOUS Paul Bunyon's of the Dells.
or she is riding one of the Ducks.... ever ride a duck?

Yup, went shopping today with DD.... summer school finished yesterday. Regular semester starts Aug. 23rd. Jake will be a senior and Cameo a freshman. Eldest daughter, Anna, is getting married in Illinois ( St. Louis area) in Sept... and Mike, 23, started the Fire Academy last week... took his first test and got an A... YAY!! He just got out of the Army.. no more Iraq for him!... DIL has another year in the Army before she will be released.... 3 grandkids for me...
How many do you all have?

Have fun this wkd Cruisin!!

:wave2: mamajoan

It sounds like you have a very nice family there. Congratulations to your son on his A.

No grandchildren here yet, thank goodness. My son is 20 and my daughter is 17. I keep figuring that sometime in the next 10 years it is a good bet there will be some grandchildren coming along. At least I am hoping so!!!;) I am willing to wait a few years though, since my son's girlfriend is also 17 and she needs to have a little life first before they think about having a family ::yes::

:p Can't remember that I have ever ridden a duck before  But I hope that Kim is having fun!!!

I am sure it will be a nice weekend. The only part is getting up early tomorrow morning!!! Maybe I won't be able to DIS so late tonight :(

Wishing a :sunny: day to everyone out there hanging about today!!!

Hi Threadkillers & Lurkers!

Ya'll were chatty last night! The cat sounds darling. I promised my husband no more cats. We had a beautiful cat that HATED him for 11 years. Her name was Sweetie and she was my friend. I was devestated when we lost her.

Now but we have a great little poochie. Her name is Holly (yeah - Holly & Ann - hollyann - didn't know what else to use for a screen name!). She's a 9lb. Silkie terrier and she's smart, well behaved and does lots of tricks.

She thinks cats are friendly and usually ends up getting scratched when she's around them, because she thinks they're playing! She's truly a joy for both of us. Cruisin, good luck with the cat. I completely understand where you're coming from. If the cat doesn't go today -keep her!

Mamajoan, I have 2 grandkids. One is 18 months old and lives 10 miles away and the other is 7 months old and is in California. Ooh, Ooh! I forgot to tell you guys! Tom's been missing the boys (our sons are in CA) and the grandbaby, that for his "I Don't Have Cancer" present, I'm sending him to California for a week. He'll be there on the 11th of August. So exciting!

Hi Stepharoonie, Chrissie123, mamadduck & Phil. Hope you're doing well Phil - you've been in my thoughts & prayers

BrerPapa, I saw "The Bourne Supremacy". It was better than the first movie. My husband loved the books, but didn't see the movies. Non-stop action with a great plot line. I think they set it up for a third installment, but I don't know if Robert Ludlum wrote a third "Bourne" book. Unless you know, we'll find out together in a couple of years!

Well, today we exercised, made breakfast together, read til lunch, are watching a movie on TV and thinking about a nap. Another busy day in our retirement life! Tomorrow, we're meeting the kids (daughter, SIL & grandson) for breakfast. It's always nice to get together on Saturdays, we're making it a regular thing.

Ya'll take care, I'm ready for a nap! Nighty, night my friends! Annie

 Ann

A nap sounds really good right about now, but I think I will just keep moving instead :p

I haven't seen little White Cat yet today  Do you think he knows that he might be leaving so he is staying away ;)

I hope Tom has fun in California!!

You are in charge of keeping Brer_Papa company this weekend, so you have to post often and see what he is up to ::yes::

Cruisin (Robin), I'll post as often as I can - I'll keep BrerPapa company and see if we can set a good example to follow. No throwing pies, no gross-out foods and nice compliments all around! So, I'll start.....BrerPapa, I love the little "tidbits" you put by my name regarding Ricky's parents!

My daughter & grandbaby are here - see ya!

Well my little White Cat went to a new home tonight:sad1:

I feel like I have given away one of my own children!! Even though he was only here for 3 months I had grown attached to him.

The good thing is he has gone to somewhere that I will be able to hear updates about him.

I took him over there and let him out of the cage in the livingroom. He walked around exploring things and then came back and laid down in the middle of the carpet ..... just like he belonged there!!

He seemed completely comfortable in that house, so I hope that he will have a good life and a happy home. His new "mom" didn't really look too sure but I hope that he purrs nicely and sits with her tonight to make her feel she made the right choice!!
