Robin, you sweetheart! Let's see if I can kinda explain what you'd need to do......(and then you can tell me yes or no ;)).......Stanley would be mailed to you to 'visit', for a week I think, and you would send him back with a letter of sorts detailing what he did with you. (This is where I 'pretend' to have taken him to all the sights in Chicago, and describe the local places). :p Since I haven't been to school to ask about this, I don't know if there may be just a questionnaire to fill out, or not. I've seen it done both ways. (I may even have an example of what I sent once) Anyway, it's mostly to learn geography, as they will map where all the Stanley's go, as well as learn some basic things about where he went, and what he 'did'. ;)

You can PM me if you want. I didn't want anyone feeling like they were put on the spot. ;)

You're a sweetie to offer, but don't feel obligated, ok? ;)

Sure Kim, I will do it, no problem at all.

I will pm you with the info.

Do you know when they would be expecting him to be returned (approximately??). Doing that at holiday times can get them lots of neat information, with people travelling around.

At the holidays, it could also be a royal PAIN! :(

I'll find out more on Monday, I promise! ::yes::

It doesn't matter to me at all when it is, just sign me up. I would be glad to help the kids out.

I once sent some dirt to a kid on the DISboards  . I had to let it dry out first though because it had been raining alot and it was more mud than dirt ;)

Flat Stanley sounds like fun to me.:D

Meant to post this before: :love1: ...That's Kelly & I 'lovin' ya!!! :teeth:

Love the DIS, and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the TKs!!! ::yes::

You're always saying that, but I think a few of us here know your sweet side! ::yes::

(had to re-start 'puter, it just FROZE on me, sorry) :(

SWEET dreams, Robin! :boat: :cloud9:

You going to bed now????

Have a good rest Kim.

I am waiting for my daughter to come home :( I just called her to see where she was and she said she was on her way home. Hopefully she won't be too much longer. I have a hard time going to sleep without knowing where they are. The "Mom" thing kicking in.

Me, Sleep?! No! Actually, I thought you signed off while I was re-starting, so I said good night. :o I'm here (and there)! ;) :p

I went upstairs to let the cat out and to stare longingly out the window looking for car lights :p

Amazing how much traffic there is in this little tiny area at this time of night ::yes:: Out of 15 houses that are within my sight, one car left and one car arrived after 1 am already.

Be careful Robin, you'll be called Mrs. Kravitz if you keep peeping out your window!

:p

DD home yet?

I'm starting to get a taste of this teen-age stuff myself. DS, almost 17, is home this weekend, but shouldn't be, it's his dad's weekend, but anyway, last night at 9:45 he wants to go bowling! (he recently joined the school's CLUB, not Team). So, at 9:45, I let him go, he said for 1 hour. Uh-huh! At midnight he returns, all happy, and noisy I might add, and I'm thinking, WHAT is he doing that I USED to do back then?!?! I was trouble, so I worry. He's never, ever, given me reason to worry, that was validated - Lord knows I worry ALL BY MYSELF, but still, I worry!

So yes, I know that 'Mom' thing. ::yes::

Yes, she just came in a few minutes ago, eating a Frosty from Wendy's. Now she is down here invading my space and on her own computer ;)

At 17 I was not trouble. In fact I don't think I was trouble at any age ;) . I used to go to parties every weekend and quite often there was alcohol involved. I NEVER drank at any of them. We always danced and had fun though. I was usually the oldest one there so I had to be the voice of reason.

Oh the stories that can be told of those days :p

Neither of my kids has ever really given me any cause to worry either but I just worry when they are not home. Neither one of mine has ever had a curfew either and we have not had any problems so far with that.

TOOOOOO FUNNY, Robin!!! Matt came home with a Frosty, too! Hmmmm, suspicious Mom now wonders about the 'spell' of Wendy's!!!

Glad she's home! ::yes::

I wasn't any trouble either, really...........until I got caught!

I have been told that Kelly is my pay-back, two-fold! :earseek: :faint: :headache: :scared1: :sad2:

Well, there's your problem right there......... you're not supposed to get caught.

I hope that Kelly breezes right through for you and does not cause you any trouble (or at least not much trouble!!)

Hmmmm, maybe we better investigate those Wendy's Restaurants

I'm right behind you!!!!! ::yes:: :p (fries?, single?, double w/cheese, what's YOUR pleasure?) ;)

Robin, I intend to be even MORE scrutinizing than my Mom was with me. Sure, she caught me several times, but.........there were MANY other times that she didn't. ;) Thank goodness or I'd still be grounded!!!!

OT, may I brag? Too bad, I'm gonna anyway. ;) Today at Costco, I bought a pair of stretch jeans, Gloria Vanderbilt, been buying them cheap throughout my weight loss (yeah, I know, fashion maven I'm NOT!), anyway, today I bought the last of the double digit size, and THEY FIT!!! Ok, I wouldn't wear them for any length of time, but they FIT! :faint: :teeth: I'm gonna keep them tagged and un-worn, like a trophy to be had. I honestly don't think I've worn that size in over 17 years. I guess being sick has some rewards! ROFLOL

If I'm going to eat at Wendy's I will have a Chicken Sandwich (the fried, breaded kind) with fries and Coke .............. but I want the Chicken Sandwich made the old way not the new way with the strange lettuce, weird bun and sauce on it. I want it with lettuce and tomato and mayo on it, on the old kind of bun. :teeth: I am NOT fussy, I know EXACTLY what I want :D

Of course........... that is what I want but not what I will have ;), since I have the desire to try out some of those fashions that you are so proudly wearing ::yes::

Congratulations, I can't imagine how good it feels to be able to buy and wear those new clothes.

Robin, my FAVE with Wendy's was the OLD breaded, fried chicken sandwich, no tomato. Lettuce & mayo only, with FRIES. LIVED ON IT!!! Not such a good choice for me, I guess. I could still live on fries, I swear, and that is my downfall, but I have limited myself to very few times.......and LOVED IT when I indulged! THAT will Never change I expect.

OK, unofficial POLL (without the colors, lines for voting etc.), in other words, your opinion.........please. ;)

Some of you have, what I call, your 'light on', that shows everyone else when you're 'ON', and some of us, we know who we are, always have the light 'OFF'. Does that bother those of you who are 'On'? Personally, the only reason my 'light' isn't on, is because my 'puter stays on almost 24/7, and the last thing I want people to think, is that I'm ON 24/7, because I surely am NOT! So, what about you?

I'm getting loopy I think.

I have my light set to be on. Why??? I don't really know.

My computer is also on all of the time and people probably think that I am always here sitting in front of the computer when that is not true.

Does it bother me that people are on without the light??? I wouldn't say it bothers me but it makes me wonder sometimes, is somebody there or not?????? and how do they keep track of what is going on if they are not here?????????????

So I guess it is up to the individual to decide what they prefer.

I think that fast food is a real downfall in my life. My kids seem to want to live on the stuff and therefore I was doing the same. I hope to break that habit, at least for myself.
