Hey guys:wave:
Boy you dont come on this tread for a few days and you miss ALOT.:earseek:
I have been so busy.....
Welcome Barb57!Hope you have a good time helping us try to kill this thread. No one seems to be able to do it........But we have a real good time trying!:jester:
Well I have some good news...my female dalmatian(cookies-n-cream..AKA Cookie)just got her wrap taken of her leg...so she is now using her leg without any support to help her. She seems fine. She favors it a little bit , but I think that will pass in time.::yes::
I don't really mind a hairy pit....but...I won't put up with one hairier than mine!
:scratchin
Brer_Papa, Maybe you can ask her if she would like you to braid it for her.:teeth:
Snow Angel, I just love your pic. What cuties!
By the way ...I really like the new look...I also like that my PM info is on the top of the front page now too. Its so much easier then having to scroll down for it....WOW does that sound really lazy or what!
Well I have alot to do today so I better get started........Boy it is a beautiful :sunny: sunny day , so I wont mind being out and about.
Oh and ...Cruisin'Kroezes..... I hope your cold passes quickly so you can enjoy camping.

talk to ya all later....
Betsy:wave2:

Ditto about missing a lot if you're not on here every day!! Glad to hear Cookie is doing so well!

I've been dealing with MIL drama which finally came to a head this morning. :drinking1 :headache: :crazy2:  Unfortunately it's not over. DH is flying down to Tampa to pick her up to come back home for "awhile." Guess she's miserable with FIL in Florida. Just sold their home up here two months ago--I knew it wasn't a good idea. I'm just hoping that she plans on reimbursing DH and I for the tickets...for $40 more the entire family could have flown roundtrip to Florida!!! Do you have any idea how much I need that right now?!!? Sorry to vent but I really needed to and I felt safe venting here without major reprocussions. Poor DH isn't feeling well already and now he's flying down to TPA, getting off the plane and literally stepping right onto another one coming back home. I'd really appreciate a little pixie dust for DH and selfishly a little sprinkling for my sanity through all of this!!

Have a good day fellow threadkillers!!

Hi,
Sorry to hear about your Dh and DMIL problems. Hope it all turns out ok. I dont have DMIL problems.....but I do have my DM.
She lives with us(cant live on her own). I love my Dm, but there are days that are very hard... Alone time is precious to me anymore. I always feel alittle guilty about that.
I just got back from a busy day and realized I forgot to do some things. :earseek:
Its just going to have to wait for another time, It takes about 45mins. to get to town for me, so I refuse to turn around and go back.
well heres a hug:hug: and if you need to vent ....feel free that is what friends are for....To listen(or read) to any venting.... that has to be vented:crazy: ???Anyway You know what I mean................I hope!
Im all ears!(mouse ears:teeth: )(or eyes I guess because Im reading this:jester: )

Betsy

Hi everyone!

Cruisin - glad you dinner went well.....how cool that you're "Cruisin" with another couple!

DalPal - glad the Pet situation is going well.

Luckymommy - what can I say.....except feel free to vent. I imagine it can be very hard. I was one of those lucky ones - my MIL was my best friend. She died in January and I miss her every day.

KimRaye - hope your meeting went well.

BP - good luck with the armpit situation.

Everyone else....sunshine all around!

I've been out volunteering all day today. Tomorrow is more of the same. I've got to get dinner on the table, so I'll scoot for now.

Take care!

"Hello? Anybody home?"

[silence]

"Well, since no one's home, I'll just leave a note."

[Begins to write:]

"Dear ThreadKillers,

Sure has been a while, hasn't? Unfortunately, the computer is still broken and I haven't been able to access the internet, except for a few minutes here and there at a friend's house. Thus my presence today.

I just wanted to take a second to let you all know I'm doing well. Miss America week went off without a hitch and was an overwhelming success. Worked hard that week. Also pulling some major OT this week at work. Local 54 (the union for all the hotel and food and beverage workers in Atlantic City) went on strike last Friday. Being in management, I've been forced to fill vacated positions elsewhere on the property in addition to my own job. This weekend I get to seat people for the Kenny Rogers concerts. I did get the transfer I requested! To refresh your memory, I put in a transfer to go to Reservations. The manager had a list of questions she wanted to ask me but when she saw that I was a Supervisor in another department, she discarded them..LOL.

o O (Funny how LOL only works online and not in an actual letter, isn't it?)

So, I got off of work at 9am and have been going ever since. My eyes are starting to droop but must......stay.....awake......for.....Survivor. Oh! Had some great news today....Cher is coming back to Atlantic City in November. That makes for trip #3 here during her "Final Farewell" Tour aptly renamed "The Never Can Say Goodbye Tour". Tickets go on sale on Monday and, just like last year, I will so be at this concert. It is, in a word, FABULOUS! LOL.

Well, I don't want to take long on my friend's PC so I'm going to wrap this up. Hello Ann, Robin, BP, Wendy, LMx2, Kim (Great clippie, btw) and everyone else! (alot of newbies I see....Welcome!) Of course, a special "shout out" to Zen1! I'm not sure if you're in Florida yet or not but I hope you have a magical time!!

Group Hug, :grouphug:
-Kevin"

I sure hope you are able to get your computer fixed soon, I miss talking to you! ::yes:: Please email me when you get a chance. And nope, I have not left for FL yet. We leave for FL in 5 more days, I can't wait! :Pinkbounc

I hope you all are having a wonderful day! :sunny:

Howdy Threadkillers! Kevin, I'm very happy to see you back on-line. I think, perhaps, there is another threadkiller who is a little happier.

I'll send you sunshine smilies :sunny: :sunny: and leave the smoochies to someone else! (oooh, I can hear the tune now! Kevin & Sarah sittin' in a tree........) You two have GOT to meet!

Hi Sarah, how's your day going? A whole lot brighter? Sunshine smilies all around! :sunny: :sunny:

Hey Kevin !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NIce to hear from you again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have missed you around here. Glad everything is going okay with you. I saw Kenny Rogers in May last year. He came to our city. I had a seat close enough that I could count all of the buttons on his shirt :earseek: I enjoyed his concert very much!!

Hi Sarah. Do you have a Kevin Alert Alarm on your computer

Kim, how did the meeting go????? Did you get anywhere:confused:

Hi Dalpal, I am glad your dog is doing better. And thanks for asking about my cold. I don't think I will let it stop me from going camping. I don't tend to slow down for these things, I figure if I have to suffer, I might as well keep moving ;)

Vent away luckymommy, that is what we are here for ::yes::

:wave2: Hollyann, hope you are enjoying your Survivor show.

I just got home a bit ago from my dancing classes. I find that my feet are tap dancing all day long now  . I can't seem to stop them :earseek: Oh well, I guess the practice is good for me.

Hey Brer_Papa, you cutie patootie you:earboy2:, where have you been hiding out at these days, we miss you around here :upsidedow

Yep, I sure do! ::yes:: :teeth: LOL

Hi Robin, I hope your feet slow down, so you are able to get some rest.

Hey Kevin, my Man, my clippie-Man, I mean!!! ;) Glad you stopped in to keep us posted. Hope that 'puter situation gets fixed real soon. I HATE having 'puter gremlins myself. :(

Thanks for asking about the meeting. Right now, I'm not sure how it went. All she really did was give me more enrichment material. Not more, as in work she has to do, but more choices of work she can do. So, I listened to everything she said, and then I told her that I'm still concerned about the boredom AT school, and DDs comments just last night. :( She said (again) that there are times that DD is learning, or being grouped with kids near her level, that DD doesn't even realize she's learning. Ok, sure. I also asked for some math work, rather than just all this reading work. I don't want DD to burn out with just reading all the time.

Here's a kicker though....In DDs folder today was a letter containing a test result from some kind of reading evaluation that the special ed teacher did with all students during Sept. DDs grade was in the 49 percentile!!! WHAT?!?! She's doing the 2nd grade reading textbook at home, and reading the library's 3rd grade suggested reading material. The 49 was followed with the letters LRC, and I have no clue what that means, but 49 percentile can NOT be right. And, the letter stated that anyone with 50 or below would start to get some special reading 'assistance', I'm not sure how it read exactly, but can you believe this? And, the special ed teacher is only in on Mon, Tues & Wed., and Mon is no school, so again I WAIT!

I also mentioned having DD tested, and Teacher said she would ask special ed teacher, so maybe there will be some help directly from school, although I intend to still obtain an application for the other program.

So, that's my story for now. We'll see how it goes.

DD just woke up crying, I think she's stressed. :( I better go check on her.

Later.

Hi Kim:

I don't have too much time right now to reply but I can tell you what LRC means in our school system. LRC = Learning Resource Center. It is the term generally applied to the area that helps students who need help to reach their grade level, not the enrichment stuff. I don't know if the letters apply to the same in your school system, but I would think they do.

That somehow does not seem right does it? It could be a case of when the test was done your daughter was bored with it and didn't even try to do it properly. Or the test was not done properly. I have actually helped to do some of those tests before in the past. I used to spend a lot of time helping the resource teacher in our school a few years back. I did not do the tests with the littler ones like your daughter but the older ones in say the 4th, 5th grades.

Do you get the feeling from all of this that the teacher really wants to help or that she is just sort of "playing" along with you? Something like ......."yeah, right lady, your little darling is a genius  ??

I hope you were able to settle her down last night so she could get some sleep. If she is stressed enough to wake up crying at night, then something will have to be done. She can't function like that, can she?

Hey everyone else ........... have a :sunny: day!!!

Ugh......Kim! When it rains - it pours! I wish I had some great words of wisdom for you, but I'm stumped. Robin pretty much said it best. All I can say is, best of luck my friend - you have friends in your corner.

Robin - hope you're having a nice day. Mine is going to be a busy one!

I'm currently boxing my very first exchange gift. It was fun, but it was such a busy time for me, it was hard to dig out some shopping time. I hope the exchangee likes what I found. I don't know people's taste, so I didn't want to go to cutsie-wootsie - incase they like modern. I didn't go to hip - incase they like cutsie-wootsie...........see my shopping hardship (Imagine - I have shopping issues........Robin knows - I'm not much for shopping!). Anyway, I decided to go with something classic. Hope it works out.

Well, I've got to scoot. I've got to get this to the post office, then I'm volunteering all or most of the day. DH is on his way to Greensburg, SC to pick up the GS with DD. He's done visiting his other grandmother!

Tonight, I'm going to a high school football game - haven't been to one since I WAS in high school! My neice is in the band and asked me to come. Meeting my sister for Chinese food before hand.

C-ya!

I just had a whole post typed out, went to submit it and it disappeared into cbyer-space. :(

Okay start again

Hi Ann:

Sounds like you have a busy day planned today.

I am doing laundry and gathering stuff for the weekend. We are only camping overnight so it won't be too much to get together, since most of the stuff "lives" in the trailer all of the time.

I think your shopping skills are just fine. My ornament is hanging on the swing arm of the lamp beside my desk so that I can see it whenever I am at the computer. I see the castle and it reminds me of our lunch together.

I haven't been to a football game since high school either. Ours are not quite the same productions are yours are in the US. No big stadiums, no marching bands. In fact I don't think there would be a marching band to be found anywhere in these parts, unless you consider the local legion's bagpipe band!!!

Your grandson didn't stay very long with his grandmother. Did he get homesick?

Have a great day, enjoy your football game and Chinese food!!

Good morning Robin & Ann! You two are sure up early. ;)

Yes Robin, LRC means learning resource center to me too, but not in this case, I guess. Anyway, it was explained to me that DD had 49 LRC - letters (words) read correctly in one minute, putting her in the 50-75 percentile. That's a little better. ;)

I did get her calmed down last night. She was actually crying about apples, or something. They went on a field trip yesterday to an apple orchard, and she was sleep-talking I think about tasting the apples. :confused3 She eventually woke up a bit, and I got her to smile & giggle, and go back to sleep. :)

Have fun camping Robin, and hope you're feeling well enough to enjoy yourself! ::yes:: Ann, what exchange did you join?

HS football games are so much fun! :cheer2: I went to a couple of mine, and I was in the homecoming parade my senior year. Several years later, I went to quite a few of my younger brother's games. He was quite a hot-shot, until he injured and re-injured his shin bone so many times, it finally broke & splintered, and kinda shattered. End of football career.:( But he was fun to watch. :teeth:

My day is much more boring than both of your's. I'm at work, all alone, while the boss takes a couple of days off. It's quiet, but boring. I like to stay busy, or the 5 hours just d-r-a-g-s. :crazy2:

I'm sure I'll be popping in again today, before I leave. ::yes:: :teeth:

Have a nice day! :sunny:

Hi all,
Another busy day for me... helping to put up siding on the house...Then its back to town to get the things I forgot yesterday....
BUT... Its a beautiful, sunny, warm day! :sunny: Even better then yesterday......I figure I better enjoy them, because its going to get cold all to soon.
well got to run.........
Have a great day everyone.......
Betsy

Well, Kim, your explanation of LRC sounds better in this case.

I am still stuffed up and sniffling and sneezing but I am trying to stay away from the drugs today for as long as possible.

I really don't want to go camping but I am going anyway. We have been away from home for the last 4 out of 5 weekends. Weekends are the time that I get things done usually. I am too busy running around on weekdays to accomplish much.

Some of the guys my husband flys remote control airplanes with are going camping and they really wanted us to come along with them. Well, like I said I don't really want to go but I figure it is time to cultivate some friendships, because soon the kids will be gone and then we will be needing things to do and friends to do them with. We don't have a very active social life, and these people are all pretty nice and easy to get along with, so we decided to go out for the one night. The guys of course are bringing their airplanes so they can play :p

This weekend is Thanksgiving here in Canada, so Monday is a holiday. We are leaving to camp early tomorrow (driving about 1 1/2 hours) and leaving sometime Sunday in time to have Thanksgiving dinner at my parents house.

Maybe Monday I can relax and enjoy some of this beautiful weather we have been having around here lately. I feel like it is just passing me by and I don't get to give it the attention that I should. Soon it will be cold, like Dalpal says and I will regret not enjoying this weather while I can.

Daughter has horse riding lessons starting tonight. After that will be packing up the trailer so we are ready to leave at first light tomorrow morning.

Hi all.. just going crazy at work. It seems "lets see how trouble we can get her in" week. You know like "saftey" week or "bring your kids to work" day

I actually snapped back today. I had an appointment which I told them yesterday I was going to (it was okayed), put it out check out board and it was on my calendar. I get e-mail when I come back saying I didn't put specifically where I was going and didn't tell anyone   . I e-mailed back and cc his supervisor what really happened. It was a private app. which I was not going to put up on a board but I did tell him in person where I was going and it was on my calendar. Ugh .. going crazy

How's your day going? :teeth:

Hi Everyone:

Robin - You're not saying that a bagpipe band is something bad are you??? If you noticed the sweater I had on Wednesday at Tim Horton's (Scottish Society of Windsor Pipe Band) - I know you wouldn't want to insult me - right??? Anyway I laughed when I read that - and yes, some people hate bagpipes (I just find it so hard to believe since I spend so much time at it).

I hope all you fellow Canadians enjoy Thanksgiving. My daughter gets to do it twice because she married an American!

Barb

Hi Barb:

No I didn't notice what was on your sweater. But actually I am one of those few people who really loves the sound of bagpipes. I have always liked that sound. Most people are not that fond of it. I like to go to the Highland Games and listen to the mass marching bagpipe band. Very nice.

I don't think I would be able to play the bagpipes though. Looks like it is an awful lot of work.

Hey Brer_Papa .............. do you have bagpipe playing in your repertoire of talents ?????? :p
