Happy Thanksgiving to all Canadian Thread'Killers and Lurkers! Enjoy the Holiday weekend!!

PSSST!! Everybody...this might be post 5700! Congrats to all involved.... :cheer2:

Gobble Gobble, and Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian neighbors and friends! :sunny: My DD will be thrilled to hear that I know some people celebrating the Thanksgiving she noticed on the calendar this morning. ;) We have Monday off also, but not for Thanksgiving, obviously.

I got home about an hour ago. Went out to dinner with my dear cousin tonight. We're both doing Weight Watchers, but I had a free appetizer coupon, so we splurged! We got dee-li-cious potato skins, and I brought home more than we ate. That's a GOOD thing! ::yes::

There's a Rajah-con DIS meet this Sunday, about 10 minutes from my house, but I don't think I can make it. I have SO much stuff to do, even having Monday off, I'm not sure I'll get everything done. Working stinks. :( Just tonight, I finally put up some Halloween decorations, that I meant to do last weekend, and the new computer is still in the boxes, I need to set that up. So little time. :(

Anyone else, besides our Canadian friends, have Monday off? If you do, ENJOY! If not.....sorry. :(

And, I enjoy bagpipes also. Better than windbags!

 Good early morning everyone.

Nice to see you Brer_Papa. How were things up at the North Pole ;)

Hey Kim. I hope you can accomplish all the things you need to do this weekend.

Well got to go there is a huge toad in the window well that keeps jumping on the window. I think I should go and rescue it. ::yes::

Have a great weekend everyone!! :moped: :moped:

:sunny: :sunny:

Hi everyone! Glad to see ya'll on-line! The football game was AWESOME! I forgot how wonderful sports are on a small scale.....when the kids still play their hearts out.

Got a busy day ahead.....but first.............DH and I are going to b'fast. Oops - gotta run - it's my turn in the shower! Have a great day!

OMG!!! Did I kill this thread!? Where is everyone!? I guess I'd better finish my early morning thread......

Anyway, as for the football game....our team won! It was 42 to 13. They had some really good players. My sister lives in a very small town and I expected the marching band to be okay. She said they were great, but her daughter is in the drumline - what's she supposed to say?

Well..........she was right they were fabulous! In fact, she mentioned that they are going to state competitions and I can certainly see why. Not only do they play beautifully, but they really do some fancy marching!

After the game, they play a beautiful rendition of Amazing Grace and all the football team gathers mid-field and hold up their helmets while the spectators stand in silence. It's a beautiful moment. I guess they do this at the end of every game.

They have another home game on October 29th, and DH and I hope to attend.....I had that much fun! Can you believe it?

Before the game, we met at a rinky-dink Chinese Restaurant. My favorite kind - rinky-dink places always serve the best food! Well this place was no exception. Except, I broke out in hives. I think they used the same woks for seafood & regular dishes. I had allergy meds and it was no problem-o. However, since they are only buffet (not necessarily my favorite kind of Chinese food) I won't be able to eat there....all their food will give me an allergic reaction!

Enough about last night. I'll post about today next!

Well, it really was my turn for the shower (I know, I know TMI). We went to Cracker Barrel for b'fast. Been there many, many times, so it was no big deal.....

You ever had one of those days where you order the same thing you usually do and for some reason - it tastes brand new? I don't know if that makes sense, but the meal was absolutely wonderful! I know the company had a lot to do with it.....DH is the best. It was just prepared exactly the way I like it.......I LOVE when that happens!

We spent the day mostly relaxing. We've been go, go, go all week. I did make a really great low-carb beef stew in the crock-pot. When we returned from church the whole house smelled good!

We're going to pull out the camping gear tomorrow. Hard to believe it's almost time to hit WDW and see what Ft. Wilderness is like!

Okay, I'm done yakking! It's ya'lls turn!

WOW! Everyone must've been really busy today, no posts for over 12 hours.

I was busy in the early morning, picking up Market Day at school, and delivering my brother's order to his house. That's when I found out SIL is in the hospital with early contractions, and is 1 cm dilated. She's not due until Christmas. :worried:

After that, we came home and DD had breakfast, and I laid down to rest. Slept on and off for 4 hours. Whatever I've had this past week has just caught up with me, I'm extremely tired, and have NO energy whatsoever. I've been sitting around since my nap watching 2 movie rentals we've had here for a few weeks.

My planned dinner went out the window when I decided I didn't want to cook, again. Another day shot in the diet routine. :(

I hope you're all having a much more exciting day than I had.

:wave2:

Ooh, Kim - I hope you're feeling better and your SIL and baby are safe. I'll remember her in my prayers.

Yeah, being sick is the worst - diet wise - heck in every way! I'm sure you maintained your discipline anyway!

What movies did you watch? Did you hear the reviews regarding "Friday Night Lights"? I heard they were excellent and it's a movie I'd love to see.

Oops, sorry I missed your posts Ann. I'm working with the gremlins right now, so my posts take even longer to get done.

Discipline? Not sure about that. I had 1-1/2 pieces of bacon all day, and then ate a small salad and 3 chicken thighs for dinner. Not sure that's disciplined. :(

First I watched Laws of Attraction, cute movie. Pierce was cute in his role. ;)

Next I watched Passion of the Christ. You have to really WANT to see this in order to get through it. I covered my eyes (while peeking) a couple of times. I expected it to be much worse though, probably due to all the hype. It was brutal, but not as bad as my mind was expecting, if that makes sense. I'm still confused about this one creepy character throughout the movie, not even sure if it was a male or female, just creepy. Did anyone else see it?

Yep! I saw The Passion. I imagine there's a debate thread for the movie and I hope not to ruffle feathers. I thought it was great! The creepy character was in real life - a girl. The character was the devil.....I'm not sure, but I think they meant for it to have no male/femaleness about it. Amazing movie.....not an easy one to watch and not for everyone, but I'm glad I saw it. I haven't seen laws of attraction.....It too weird seeing James Bond be anything else. I'll get around to it eventually.

As for your discipline - on a low-carb diet that's quite disciplined! I had 3 pieces of bacon this morning, two eggs and RED meat in my stew tonight! Your weight watcher points would be spinning right now!

Sorry about your computer gremlins......those were some long posts - I was feeling chatty!

I just watched Passion of the Christ with my really good friend about a month and a half ago. I had a hard time watching it, I did a lot of crying. At one point my friend had to tell me that it was okay to close my eyes and once she said that to me I did close my eyes for a little bit. I am really glad that I did see this movie and I am thinking I would like to watch again( for the things I missed when I closed my eyes, although am sure I would still cover my eyes again in some parts of it).

And the creepy character, is that where Satan is holding this baby, but when you look at it's face it looks like an old man? I thought that was kind of creepy myself and did not really understand that part.

Hi Hollyann,

Not to much going on here today. Just worked for 6 hours and that's about it.

Thanks Ann, I was kinda thinking it was Satan, but there were one or two times when 'it' just confused me. Thinking more about it now, it makes a little more sense. I agree, it's certainly not for everyone. I made sure DD was set up with Hello Kitty movies to watch while we watched The Passion. I didn't want to upset her.

I think I may pack it in early tonight, and fall asleep watching some 'feel good, cutsie-wootsie' movie tonight. I'm just wiped out. Some choices are: 13 going on 30, How to Lose a Guy in 10 days, or maybe Angels in the Outfield. :teeth:

Hi all.

Dh watched passion. I just couldn't get myself to sit and watch it.

Hi Sarah! Yes, that part and a few others. In the beginning, Satan was also talking to Jesus, and then later, Satan was walking through the crowd, and looking across at the lady (was that Mary, or the other lady, I don't remember exactly). But yes, the baby part was WEIRD! And also, at the end, Satan was really, really mad.

I don't blame you at all, Snow Angel. Knowing the story, like we do, you definately have to WANT to see it. Like I said, we've had the movie for about 3 weeks, and I finally made myself watch it.

Hi Kim! Did you see the part where this lady( I can't remmber her name) takes this white cloth and gives it to Jesus to put on his face( And then when Jesus takes the white cloth off of his face, it leaves an imprint of his face on the white cloth)?

Hi SnowAngel! :wave2:

Hi Sarah! Yes, I saw that part. I didn't really notice the imprint though, just the blood. :(

Hi zen1 - that would be Veronica of the Veils. Being a Catholic girl - I really liked that part!

Well, I'm going to sign off for now. I'm wanting to watch a movie that's coming on late and I'm staying up for it.....so I'll probably turn off the computers.

Night all!

That part does go by pretty fast in the movie. You will have to fastfoward to that part, so you can see it. It was really cool to see!

Thanks, Hollyann, for telling me her name. Enjoy your movie that you are going to stay up and watch!
