Who feels like a Thread-Killer? Part 2

Hi - I'm new to the community board thanks to Robin who brought me a Christmas ornament for my new granddaughter. It was so good to meet another diser - and such a nice one too. These boards are too cool - and so addictive. I've only got a minute right now because I have to catch up on laundry from being gone all morning. The dis people (as my husband calls you) are the friendliest, most helpful people I know.

WELCOME BARB!!! Come on back when you have more time.....you'll need time! :teeth: :wave2:

 Barb.

Nice to have you stop in to say hello.

Please do come back again when you have the time. We just pop in and out all day and night long, whenever the mood strikes us ;)

Afternoon, Snow Angel :D

It has been much too quiet around here lately. Let's liven this place up a bit with the Thread-Killers Theme Song.

Thanks again Wendy!!!

I was just thinking the same thing last night, when I watched the opening of Cheers on late night TV. :teeth:

WOW! Love the new look!

It's kind of serene and peaceful.......in a non-masculine sort of way....

and it takes longer to load....so, it slows me down.....

wonder why the powers that be did it in this color instead of say....limegreen?

zzzzzzzz... :cloud9: :cloud9:

DANG! put me to sleep!

who had the bright idea  for the change???

I don't think ilike it after all!

:rotfl: :rotfl:

Hi & Welcome Barb45!

Glad you joined us....we are a friendly bunch....and we don't bite..
hope you join in often....

Hi Kim! :wave2:

:badpc: is being an  looks like....hope it stays that way.....

Hello HollyAnn! :cool1:

(I wonder if Harriet ever danced while Ricky was singing?)

Well? are we getting a movie review? PLEASE??? :worship:

it would be so nice of you! :puppy-dog-eyes:

Glad your bunco game went so well too....

Afternoon SnowAngel!

Gotta tell you again...the picture and the sayig are just tremendous....

how you been?

To LuckyMommyx2 :wave2: How is the football icks going for this week? I had to make major changes in my "Salary Cap" league....dang those byes! :teeth:

Ahoy Cruisin' ! :boat:

You know....It was swell of you to pick up the ornament....and meet a fellow DIS-er...

your kindness shines through again and again....

now quit blushing....and help me out here...

My assistant Lisa was helping me today...we were putting some office supplies on the shelves....

I was stacking some copy paper on a mddle shelf...and she was putting some pens and pencils and such on an upper shelf...

I straightened up...turned to say something...and was staring at a hairy armpit!

and i mean hairy!

Hairier than mine....yeah yeah....tmi...

anyway....your advice that's needed...

does Hallmark have a card that can discreetly send a subliminal message to her...or should i just juggle some Lady Bics and see if she gets a hint?

I don't really mind a hairy pit....but...I won't put up with one hairier than mine!

PSSSST! Hey Lurkers!

anybody have a spare "Squirrel Duds Inc." catalogue?

just in case any new visitors here might have heard about our little business....

First off.......Welcome Barb57! Isn't Cruisin c-o-o-l? We were lucky enough to meet for lunch in WDW. So glad you decided to visit the threadkillers - hope we hear more from you!

Howdy to everyone else. The movie we saw was "Wimbledon". The critics kind of poo-pooed it, except for the male lead's performance. However, it was a really cute formula romance set around the tennis championship. Formula Romances work for me. The movie was DDs pick and she picked a winner. A nice, feel good movie!

I've got things I gotta get done this afternoon, so a big hello and smooches to everyone else. I haven't spent hardly any time with DH, so smoochie-dooing him is first on the list. Chat with ya'll later!

It was a beautiful day here.....I even wore jeans (a rarity) and I missed every one of ya'll yesterday!

Playing on here again....

let me ask....is this new look also slower?

Whn I go to a page....the Happy Birthday and the United We Stand show up fine....but I have to wait for the CB threads to load....

then....when I click on a thread....i have to wait for each one....one at a time....

therefore...S---L---O---W !!!!

anybody else experiencing this?

Brer Papa I have only two words for you......Cable Internet!! I've not noticed a difference. It could be that your well placed Shazbots were heard by your computer!! Best Wishes for a speedy recovery!

As for the hairy arm pit situation - I used to be a Hallmark Representative for Wal-Mart and I can tell you - there are no cards that cover that situation! Perhaps she's not going to shave til you take out your ripple ring!

Cruisin - how was your dinner party? Whadcha make? Was it business or pleasure? Details!!! Hope you're having a good time!

Howdy Snow Angel! I was thinking of you. Today, I received in the mail a Yankee Candle Catalog (how cool was that?). Well, they have a new candle fragrance called.......you guessed it!........Snow Angel! Anyway, I thought you'd get a kick out of that! Here's a link on their web page: http://www.yankeecandle.com/cgi-bin/ycbvp/product_detail.jsp?oid=1910503

Hey Kim! Here's a link for the sugar free dessert. I got the recipe from the Food Network. The show "Low Carb & Lovin' It". I used prepared whipped cream, rather than do the last step and make it. Other than that - it was easy to make! I doubled the recipe to serve 12. http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,1977,FOOD_9936_26961,00.html

Well, DH and I had a nice quiet dinner at home and are relaxing reading and watching TV. I'll scoot for now, but check in later! Take care!

Sounds YUM-MY, Ann! Thanks for the link!

BP, I was posting from work earlier, no gremlins there. Still have gremlins here at home though. :(

Wish me luck for tomorrow, I'm meeting with DD's teacher, yet again.

 Just popping in for a "cup of cheer" I've been in Kingston since Sunday night. So that's why I haven't been seen lately....busy, busy, busy.....sooooooooo.................................

how's everyone doing?????:teeth:

thought I'd let you know I was here first and then I'll go back and read AAAALLLLLLL those pages.

Hi Wendy! Enjoy the reading! How do you like the new DisBoard look? I like it, but BP's computer is giving him fits - he caught Kim's computer bug!

I'm headed off to bed. We've got to get up and walk in the morning! I plan to volunteer tomorrow - haven't done that all week and elections are getting closer.

Kim....best of luck with your teacher/parent conference, I know you have a lot of frustration. Hope it goes well. I really liked the dessert - it's very creamy & smooth. Not too sweet and very light. Had a mousse type texture. I hope you enjoy it.

Cruisin - hope you're enjoying your dinner party! We miss you. It's hard to give you up even for one night!

Well, I'm off. See ya'll later! Enjoy your late night posting - I know I love to read them in the morning!

Finally I am able to get at the computer for a few minutes. We had company for dinner and then my daughter had dance class to go to, so it makes for a late night.

The dinner was strictly pleasure. We had friends over who are going with us on our cruise in January. They have not been and they wanted details, well she did, I'm not so sure about him. He is one of those kinds of people who will hang on to a penny so tight you can't pry it out of his fingers!!! They are bringing their 14 year old daughter too and I am afraid she will drive us crazy before we get back.

We had a very plain old fashioned type of meal.... roast beef, potatoes and carrots - cooked in the oven, baked beans, rolls and caesar salad with chocolate cake for dessert. They have some food issues so we had to work with them but really we eat that way most of the time anywaysl

Good luck with your meeting with the teacher Kim. I hope you can get some help for your daughter. You know, kids like her need extra help just as much as the slower achievers do!!!

Hollyann a beautiful day to me if when I can wear short, NOT jeans :p

Brer_Papa, I don't notice any difference in the loading time of the DISboards but I have cable internet, so maybe it is not noticable with that.

I have a solution for your hairy pits problem .............. You put the things on the high shelves and your assistant uses the lower shelves ................ problem solved .......... you never have to come into contact with pits at all :p Now, she might have to be the one who complains about pits with my solution

Hi Wendy :wave2:

Hey Kim ................ LOOK ........... ºººººº ºoº ºoº º º º

I can do it :cheer2: :cheer2: :thewave: :teeth:

Woo-Hoo-Hoo!! The ALT keys work afterall! ºoº :teeth: And now you can tell us the temp in º rather than degrees. :p

Thanks for tomorrow. I may be frustrated, but my DD is even more so. :( I felt so sad for her tonight when she said, "No one can move on, we all have to work together". And last night, "She hasn't given me anything more to do!". Double :( Again, thanks for putting up with me these past 5 weeks. :o

hiya all...

Glad to hear all are doing good and kim here are some  :grouphug:

The alt key probably was working fine all along but I was trying to do it using the numbers on the top row. My son told me to use the keypad numbers and there you go º º º , it works!!!!!!

I guess that is what we have kids for

How discouraging for your daughter. Perfect way to make her hate school.

I have no problem putting up with you at all. ;) Anytime ::yes:: , anywhere :wave2:

That is EXACTLY what I fear is happening, even though she loves being with her friends, and she loves being 'there', she's not happy with the 'learning'. :( So much for a 6yo to have to handle, imo. Thanks Robin, you really seem to understand what all this is about.

I've gotta test the top row numbers to see if that happens to me, too................Testing..........HA! You're right! It DOESN'T work with the top row! I guess I've always used the number pad! :teeth:

:wave2: everyone.

Woke up this morning with an extremely stuffy nose (can't breathe at all ) and very painful sinuses on the right side of my face. Yuck!!! Just what I need. Also my right ear is paining me a bit.

We are supposed to be going camping, leaving early Saturday am and returning home Sunday.

I may have to make a trip to the doctor's first.:(

I have an eye doctors appointment this morning too. :(

Well, I hope the rest of you have a good day ::yes:: :sunny:
