Who do I complain to?Is it worth it?

I believe it's always best to adress issues while you are there & if you are still not happy with the outcome, as PP said, Member Satisfaction is who you should direct your email to.

Out of curiosity, does anybody know if the CR Managers oversee BLT as well or if there is a seperate mangement team?

It is one management team.

You know, I have been a huge supporter of any Disney and DVC for years and years, but I am really beginning to get tired of this treatment to members.

I don't care what anyone says I am laying the blame on Jim Lewis. He and his management team are simply not listening to the current membership about maintenance and housekeeping issues.

And I really do not want to hear about our dues would have to be raised to cover it, where the heck is the money going to, that we are paying for maintenance and housekeeping.

One of the best Satisfaction Team members is no longer on the team and truly I do believe she was moved because she actually tried to pass on member concerns to upper management. She is now answering the phones at MS instead.

We joined DVC 1998 BWV added on many times BCV, SRR & VB because we love Disney, thru DVC traded into a Marriott timeshare in Hawaii next to we're DVC is building. Anyway we bought into the Marriott Vacation Club on that trip six years ago wanting a Hawaii home resort. Since then we've stayed at many MVCI locations, the difference is there's special rooms for the owners and they cater to the owners for room selections. I've had little to no complaints with Marriott. I bring this up because DVC seems to have no consideration for a DVC member or a transient staying a night, and there is a very big difference we all bought the place and are paying the costs. What I'd like to see is special treatment for DVC Members for room selection and special inventory of rooms.

Let member services know immediately, as soon as the issue comes up. That's what we do and it never fails to be corrected before the end of the day.

There were some other issues that weren't specific to our room but to the maintenance of the resort. We emailed member services as previously recommended . . .

When we sent an email to member services they called back to get the specifics and hear our concerns. On our subsequent trip the issues had been fixed.

It's easy to say it's all the "renters" faults, and maybe to a degree there is something valid in that. Maybe under paying for luxury makes people act like pigs, BUT... I don't think this kind of wear after this short of time can be totally blamed on renting...Disney's or otherwise. I see it as several problems all happeing in tandem to create a larger problem.

1. Poor quality materials used both in construction and furnishings.
2. Poorly managed housekeeping.
3. uncaring owners who probably don't take care of their own homes any better.
4. Renters who feel they paid Pop Century prices for a "deal", and they don't care and don't know better.

I'd have a hard time believing #3, since owners are going to pay more in the long run if things deteriorate quickly. I'd be inclined to think #'s 1 and 2 are pretty important here.

We are renters, three times at Sarasota, and this December we look forward to being at OKW. We are ALWAYS mindful that we are in someone's home, and can't imagine being so rude or uncaring about someone's elses property. We go whether we get a 'deal' or not, just enjoy the extra room, and the quiet away from the parks. I never thought to check the dishes, as we don't use the kitchen much except for an occasional breakfast or snack at night. (Love the dining plan). I will certainly check now, and feel badly for apparant neglect. A little disappointed that Disney hasn't addressed your issues.

That really stinks!

I wonder if it is really a DVC thing or if it is simply an overall Disney issue. We just returned home from a non-DVC trip to the Polynesian last week. Our room was in pretty bad shape -- especially the bathroom!

The mirror on the door was busted, the door handle in the bathroom was broken -- would not latch shut OR lock. Wallpaper was peeling off the walls, tiles on the floor were broken.

Our refrigerator didn't work -- which was a big deal because we had medicines that required refrigeration. Took 3 phone calls on 2 different days to FINALLY get the thing replaced. Had to drag the cooler upstairs from the car and load it with ice to save the meds.

The Poly just looked poor in general -- and it just went through a full rehab a couple of years ago.

I think Disney has really slacked off on the care of their rooms and guest services both. As a former CM, that makes me sad.

It is sad and I think Disney is operating to a profit, DVC has a captive audience. I rent some point’s on occasions and I' have to say that they all sound just as excited and happy to be going as us, and in fact one had a problem too at VWL, they found a dirty baby diaper in the sofa couch! they called the font desk got the we’re very sorry and then fixed it. But the damage was done what else is filthy. We stayed at the Grand Floridian a few years ago and it too was run down needing renovation.

We rent points to many over the years and you guy's sound just as happy and caring as the ones whom have become our friends over the years, I think this sadly is a DVC & Disney issue. We'd be happy to rent to you if your ever looking to rent again.

not wanting to be too intrusive, but what type of room was

it?...[ studio, 1 bedroom , & / or view?

while i don't have any sure facts, but i feel these type of damages

are from renters not the owners, [ based on the same feelings
posted where owners treat the rooms like their homes, which i
think is the general feeling of most owners. ]

as for the food on the plates, i be howling @ disney. while i don't
think none of this is because of disney but they are ignoring a
a serious hazard...exposing your family to micros that could
resulted into real health issues. accountabilty back to disney.
why? because they know who were in the room before you.

true...i wouldn't want to blame. however, isn't that what housekeepers
are supposed to do? room checks. how hard can that be?

and this another reason.. i hope we don't have "renters" in the room
before us.

You are soo right on with that,They could avoid this happening by just running all the dishes at the end of someones stay in the dishwasher. Before we were DVC owners we stayed at OKW if we had any dirty dishes in the sink the mousekeeping ran them in the dishwasher ,Why wouldn't they do that for DVC owners?
