I'm curious to know which way people are voting. If you'd rather remain anonymous, simply vote, and don't post anything. Thanks! Regardless of your political affiliation, get out there and vote!! :D

I don't see Mickey Mouse listed there! He'd get my vote for sure!

I am surprised to see that the Liberals still have a good share after all the blatant abuse of power!:(

What party does he belong to?

I was just going to day that I think he is the leader of one of the parties but I won't give my opinion on which one.

Someone earlier stated that they were surprised with the strength of the liberal following despite all that has happened. It could also be said that it is surprising that the consevatives have the strength they have considering they do nto even have a platform or opinion on a number of issues that are of concern to Canadians.

WE could elect a party that has yet to have a policy convention. In essence, they and we have no clue what they stand for!

Might still be better than the devil we do know but....

better the devil we know but I cannot bring myself to vote Liberal after all the Sponsorship scandal, Dalton McGuinty and other abuses of power.

Can't go back to get the other cheek slapped in this house!

Mickey Mouse is the Leader of the Dream Party.

His platform is fun for everyone and free admission to all Walt Disney parks for each person who votes for him for the length of his term in Office.

He plans on opening several rides at 24 Sussex Drive including DEFICIT DROP, Healthcare Whirl, Canada's It's a larger Country after all and Sponsorship house of horrors.

Each visiting heads of State will be given AP rates at Government House and Disney buses will bring them from Meeting to meeting.

The rideau canal will be turned into Canada River Rapids and the peace tower will play Disney tunes.

The Parliment library will get a boatload of Disney Movies and there will be Character meet and greets featuring Mickey and friends dressed as MacKenzie King and Brian Mulroney...Minnie Mouse has been chosen to play Mila Mulroney but no one has yet been cast as her son Ben.

Casting calls for a Disney Character are still open to Play Pierre Trudeau on the Stage production of "This National Debt of Ours" playing nightly on the Parliment Forecourt Stage. Goofy is in the lead for the role. For information on these roles please call 1-800-I can act better than Paul "I did not know about the sponsorship scandal" Martin (and cheaper too)

Each party member will be required to pledge the Mouseketeers pledge and all sessions of Parliment will end with the Mickey Mouse Club Song.

More policy information can be found at www. we really need a change for the better .com:crazy:

Liberal. Though I don't agree with what happened, they are better for this country and its people than the conservatives.

Conservative. I definitely don't agree with what has happened - Shawinigate, HRDC, gun registry, Somalia inquiry, adscam... What was the question again? Oh yeah. They are better for this country than the lieberals.

To Photobear Sam:

Really love your ideas... Does this mean that if we live in Ottawa, that we would get local resident rates? It sure would make up for our tax hikes and service declines (not to mention our Disney addiction).

Few more ideas, Carousel of Politicians:eek:... Air Canada's Barnstormer :hyper: and the Queen Comes to the TeaCups Ride. :teeth:

I think that for this election, we should try for a change and vote for the politician who tells you why we should vote for him instead of why we shouldn't vote for the other party (after all, we learned that rule in kindergarten). Or we could just vote for the politician that passes a polygraph before and after being elected (and agrees to be shot if he doesn't):earseek:

It looks like this poll is very true in one way. Conservatives don't usually wear their affiliation on their sleeves the way the NDP do. I hope that this small sampling is a taste of what is to happen on Monday. As I type this the results show 50% conservative.

Whatever your affiliation is get out and vote. It is your duty.

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Conservatives could do no worse than the Liberals have for so long!!! Maybe a 'new broom does sweep clean' after all!

I know how the 3 of us eligible to vote in this house will be doing it!

I hate jumping into political debates. I generally give a polite "no thank you" to the phone calls. I smile weakly and shoo politicians away from my door. That being said...

Can someone please confirm/clarify something for me? I've done a google search on this and keep coming up with way too much junk.

The NEW Conservative party is a merging of the OLD Conservative party and the Alliance/Reform party, yes?

Wasn't it the Alliance/Reform party that was in the news a few years ago because their memberships lists contained a number of people who had been long dead? And it turned out they had basically just taken names from various lists and added them on to their membership list?

I'm SO sure that I remember that. Mind you most of the stuff I remember are things like Stockwell Day not knowing which way the river flowed, and the big petition to have him change his name to Doris.

Yup, that was the reform party. They've renamed themselves the New Conservatives....at least it's more accurate than "Progressive Conservative" which I always thought was an oxy-moron. ;)

I voted Liberal. I'm not a huge fan of Paul Martin, but this is what scares me about Harper: he's not conservative, he's reform. He is in favour of privatizing health care. He would have sent troops to Iraq. He wants to "reform" (there's that word again) abortion laws. He's not in favour of same-sex marriage. He's not pro-bilingualism. I'm afraid he wants to turn us into the 51st state.

None of this is even mentioning the arts, environment or issues like treatment of the homeless and/or mentally ill...when Harris was in power in Ontario, he nearly destroyed the education system. Plus the first thing he did was cut funding to women's shelters and birthing centres.

My fear about the right wing is that they cut programs and funding to people who can't stick up for themsleves while they give the well-off tax breaks. I saw it happen with special ed in the school system.

I would have liked to see a big NDP presensc but I couldn't take a risk and vote for them b/c I'm too afraid the vote will get split b/t them and the Liberals and allow Harper to walk up the middle.

Anyways, that's my 2 cents. Flame me if you want and I'm sure someone will. ;)

Beth :bounce:

I won't flame you Tinkerbeth...to each his own. That's our right to disagree!

I am lgoing to agree with Tinkerbeth on this one, with the main reasons being education and same-sex marriages. I have many gay friends who deserve the same rights as others in society. As for the education, I am fearful of deeper cuts if another party gets elected. I have seen first hand the damage the cuts have done to our system....Spec Ed students are falling through the cracks because of previous cuts. I am not a big fan of the liberal party, but of the given choices, to me that is the lesser of the evils.
