Which to add on at?

So, although DH & I just bought DVC at AKV, we already know we'll need more points and are trying to figure out which resort we want to add on at. We've narrowed it down to 2 or 3 (the 3rd is Contemporary IF/when it goes on sale). We're in no hurry for our add on, so waiting on a list for either Beach Club or Boardwalk isn't an issue either. We really do like the Epcot area, but are having a hard time picking between the resorts. Any input?

We too have come down with a case of addonitis, but I'm trying to put it off until the fall or early 2009. We own at AKV and I can't decide between more points there or the new Kingdom Towers, Contemporary Villas, or whatever they are calling them. If both were available today I would probably do the CR, just because I'm a sucker for all the hype

We own at 5 resorts, and 2 of them are BWV and BCV. We own more points at BWV (250 vs 140).

For us, the pluses for BWV are the 2 views that are guaranteed, lower points for standard views, and just what VWL, BCV point costs are for Boardwalk views! We use each of those for whatever purpose we have in mind. Also, we do have enough points to get a GV for some nights at BWV.

The minuses for BWV include the fact that there are no dedicated 2 bedrooms. Even when I plan to bring DGirlfriends in '09, I hesitate to book BWV because even in a 2 bedroom, there are only 2 real beds. At least at BCV, you can book a dedicated 2 bedroom with 2 Q's if you are early enough in the booking. I think there are only 25 of those at BCV, but there are some! There are no dedicated 2 bedrooms at BWV, which is a minus for me because of the bed situation.

BCV has more convenient parking I think, and it's a shorter walk back from Illuminations at Epcot than walking to BWV. Personally, I find the road noise when staying in certain areas of BCV to be annoying because I like to use the balcony and the noise detracts from my enjoyment. However, I've only had that distraction once, in about 6 stays, so it's not something that I always have to deal with. BCV has SAB, the pool and that's the draw for me.

I like the decor at both places. BWV is the Boardwalk and BCV is like a beach cottage.

If you haven't stayed at either, do so, then decide. We were happy staying at BCV for 3-6 nights a year in a BCV studio, and we were able to do this without owning there. It's because we want to bring the family, and definitely want the bedroom with 2 Q's that made us buy there. We have a trip planned to BCV for November, so the family will be able to enjoy the amenities of BCV for themselves.

Thinking about an add-on at BCV ... just love the atmosphere and walking to Epcot. Since Epcot and Hollywood Studios are DH & my favorite parks this would work out great for us.

However, I am interested in seeing the point charts for DVC Contemporary and how much per point. You never know.

For me it comes down to the contract term. I like the location of BWV/BCV but losing 18 years for pretty much the same price is a lot to swallow. Besides, though it is not guaranteed, it is possible to get rooms at both locations at 7 mos. (I was able to book a HA Boardwalk View BWV room at 7 mos for the opening weekend of Food & Wine festival this year.)

BCV's main draw is its exclusive access to StormAlong Bay. If that pool means that much to you (keep in mind AKV will give you another new big pool area and KTR seems to have plans for a pool to rival SAB), then you buy there.

I've chosen my add-ons at my home resort SSR. My reason being that I like my resort and wanted more points to get longer stays and bigger rooms. If I'd added on at AKV or one of the others, I'd be competing with myself at 7 mos.

At 430 pts, I'm comfortable with all I need/want there. So my next add-on will be at KTR. My purpose there is to get around 75 pts so we can stay 3 days there in time to a MNSSHP or MVMCP event. Due to the size and location of the resort, I'm not expecting there to be many rooms left at 7 mos. and demand to far outpace anything we've seen at BWV or BCV.
