I'd still take I-75. However, since you'll be travellling on a Sunday, just be aware of the lane closures in the Cincinnati area. When you'll about 20 miles north of Cincinnati, pay attention to the overhead signs whih gives traffic conditions. It may take you around the I-275 bypass.
I travelled to and from Dayton, OH yesterday with little problems. However, depending on the lane closures and the time of day, you might run into bad traffic. Depending on what time you reach Cincinnati, you might run into ballgame traffic. The Reds are at home that day.
I-275 is a fairly good option if there is severe traffic. It will take you about 20 miles out of the way. If you stay on I-75, it's about 22-23 miles from the I-75/275 interchange in Ohio to the I-75/275 interchange in Kentucky. If you take I-275 east, it's about 41 miles from the two I-75 interchanges. If you take I-275 west, it's about 43 miles fro the two I-75 interchanges. I do know there is also construction on I-275 in KY. However, it shouldn't be a hassle.
You should do fine. I think the Cincinnati construction might be the worst on I-75 right now.
