Ok, I need help. My familys vacations are always June , July, August. This is what I am thinking. I dont know if I want to go to Disney every year. So, if I buy Hilton Head I would be able to get into that resort during summer months with no problem. I am afraid if I buy into one at Disney It may be impossible to get into Hilton Head during summer months. And buying HH , I would still have 5 resorts available to book during summer months. This way I would be able to stay at either LOCATIONS during the busy summer months. Another peak is HH points are the cheapest!!!! ::MickeyMo

That should work if you are flexible as to when and what resort at WDW you want at 7 months and if you are able to plan 11 months out for HH. YOu should probably reserve HH at eleven months each year then try to siwth at 7 months if you want to go to Disney.

Alternatively you could buy enough points for HH every other year and a WDW DVC resort for the other years.

I would buy HH. That would be great to have such a wonderful resort so close to home.

I would think you could use your HH points as you planned and still have excellent opportunities to stay on Disney Property when you want to. Now if you must stay at a specific DVC on property when you vacation, then you should consider splitting your points between HH and an onsite like Jim suggested or purchase where you want to stay and will use the 11 month window.

We own at BWV and have never stayed at our home resort. We have always stayed at OKW. We really like it there, but are open to stay anywhere. With that said, we have not had problems making reservations at the 7 month mark. Granted we've stayed there during the low/next to lowest months. However, we had no problems getting a 5 dayer at OKW in July (last part) & a 6 dayer at VB in August (first part).

Flexibility is the name of the game. We will be visiting HH for the first time next month, and we got the last studio available. So, if HH is were you will go most often during the summer months, buy at HH.

Good luck!! :)

You should not have 'much' trouble getting into WDW at the 7 month mark if you're flexible with resort choices.

Sounds like a good plan.:sunny:

Just remember...H.H. is in "Hurricane Alley" !!

A reason why VB dues is soooo much higher than the rest in anual dues!! What seems cheaper now (a one time price)...may not be later (annually)!

Annual dues for 2005
at each resort are as follows:

Saratoga Springs $3.82
Old Key West $3.86
Hilton Head Island $4.03
Beach Club Villas $4.26
Wilderness Lodge $4.35

Boardwalk Villas $4.41
Vero Beach $4.86
