Which one?

I'm trying to decide should I get QSD or DDP. Which one do you prefer and why?

That would depend on if you want mostly quick service meals or several table service meals.

I've had both the DDP and QSDP in the past and personally I no longer find as much value in them.

I've also discovered that I prefer to only have one table service meal per trip.

I pay out of pocket and works better for me in the long run.

Neither?
We really preferred the earlier variant of the Deluxe Dining Plan ( app, entree, dessert, don’t recall if a drink was included or not) and since that’s no more, am opting out of the plans to get what we want a different way and actually spend less: buy Disney gift cards at a 5% discount and utilize the 10% AP discount at restaurants.

Thank you. We have always done the DxDP before the shutdown and we have been going without it since. I was trying to see since I have an AP now would it be better to use the discount. We have our favorite TS but we will be there for 2 weeks and we didn't want to have a TS everyday.

I visited WDW for the first time since the pandemic this past 4th of July. Stayed 5 nights and averaged $100.00 per person per dinner. Ordered groceries and had yogurt, fresh fruit and granola available (we aren’t big breakfast or lunch eaters).
Had one lunch on a whim to see what the new Beaches and Cream is like; I can continue bypassing it. Burger alright but the ice cream was lower end supermarket quality with a pretty high markup. Based on my RT figures paying out of pocket will be almost 15% less than the dining plan.

Still, if a person is traveling with more paying children than adults it might be a good idea to stick with the prepaid plan. Kids cost..about 75% less than adults.

Unless we get a FD package we pay out of pocket for food. Neither the QSDP or DDP is worth paying for for our family.

We travelled for 10+ years getting FD and I was convinced we ‘needed’ a DP.

Post Covid we visited 3 times without a DP and didn’t miss it at all.

Going back next month and have FD again. Will use it but if I had to pay for it, I wouldn’t.

But to answer your question - 5 park days or less QSDP. 6 park days or more DDP.

ADRs take a good amount of time. With a shorter trip I don’t want to miss the park time. For a longer trip, the break is nice.
