Planning on going next year from Saturday of Thanksgiving to following saturday.

Sunday is my 11 month window so going to call. Ultimately want whole trip at BLT but due have to use SSR pts to do it.

So what portion of this week would be the hardest to get? Figured I would book that at BLT at 11 months and rest at SSR. Then at 7 months try to move SSR nights to BLT.

So what is harder the Sat, Sun Mon after Thanksgiving or end of the week (1st week of dec)?

Thanks

Thanksgiving weekend is definitely the hardest to get. The week after Thanksgiving is one of the least crowded of the year.

The week after Thanksgiving is one of the most difficult to get on DVC points. I don't know whether Thanksgiving Saturday is easier or harder, but my guess is that the Sunday - Friday will book up very, very fast. In the past I have missed a room during that period when I called too late in the day at the 11 month window. If I were you, I would book the Saturday at SSR, Sun. through Thurs. at BLT and Fri. at SSR, if you have enough BLT points to do that.

Good to know! I know when we went before being DVC members, it was a pretty easy week to get in, and it wasn't crowded at all! I'll make sure we call ASAP next week when we get to the 11 month window.

That's true for attendance at WDW theme parks, but that's not true for DVC.

The DVC point charts make the period between Thanksgiving and mid-December very desirable for DVC members. Points go much further than during peak seasons. The purpose of the seasons on the DVC charts is to flatten demand across the year. However, in the case of Thanksgiving and mid-December, the charts have been too successful in attracting DVC members at a traditionally slow time.

DVC members are more aware than the general public that it's one of the best times of the year to visit WDW due to weather, holiday decorations, events, and short lines in the parks.

On top of that, DVC members are more likely to vacation without school-age children than the general public, either because they're long-time members whose children have grown up or because they're Disney fans without school-age children. So the school calendar is not such an issue.

I TOTALLY disagree!!!! The week of Thanksgiving can be gotten at 7 months pretty easily, but I have NEVER had any luck getting anything DVC the first week of December if I haven't done it at 11 months out.
