Which All Star Hotel Should I Choose?

I know that all the All Stars have the same facilities/amenities so is there any reason why you would choose one over the others? I am getting married at Disney and I need to choose one value resort as an option for my guests so which one should I choose? Pop Century is not an option.

Just back from a trip a few weeks back. We had a package booked at YC starting on Jan. 2, decided to go down on the first. Snagged AS Sports for $74 with tax (AAA rate). I have to say all things concidered it was pretty decent. Mattresses seemed to have been recently updated, our room location was good (Touchdown Bldg. 10) for a standard room, And best of all, the resort seemed pretty quiet. Congrats on the wedding!

We stayed at AS Music right before Christmas. It was AWESOME!!!! We loved it and DS17 said he would go back with me if we stay there. It was just rennovated and the rooms were nice, but the brand new beds were the best!! Our room was very convenient and we loved the "decorations". The food in the food court was good too. I expected it to just be resort food, but it was quite good.

I've stayed at all of the All-Stars. My favorites are the ASMu and ASMo. I was not impressed with All Star Sports, perhaps because I'm not a "sports" person. I would chose ASMu over ASMo only because the bus stops at ASMu before ASMo. You can walk between all three hotels.
Since all the hotels are basically the same you may want to choose based on your family and friends preferences. Do they like sports, music, or movies?

I agree to go by what theme you think would appeal to the majority of your guests. The movie themes are my personal favorites, but if DH and I were in a similar situation, sports would win hands down because of all the Red Sox and Patriots fans in our family! On the other hand, if you have a lot of older guests who are not sports fans, then I think music is the way to go.

We stayed at the All Star Movies and loved it. I think all adults love some sort of Disney movie. The food court has all sorts of Disney movie poster, new and old. The good thing is they have a wide variety of movie sections to choose from. We stayed in the 101 Dalmations building (preffered location) it was soooooo close to everything but there is also the Love Bug section (for car buffs and old movie lovers), the Mighty Ducks building (for the sports fans) and also the Toy Story (for the Pixar fans). It was great. Our room was decorated in all 101 Dalmations, the bed spread, the wall paper and the pictures. They go all out.

Thanks for all the replies! It sounds like whichever one I pick will be a good choice. I am now leaning towards All Star Music because Shmily1 mentioned it was just renovated and sharonmickey mentioned the bus stops there first.
I don't think my guests would like the sports theming but would prefer music or movies.

Does anyone know if Music is the only one that has family suites?

ASMu is the ONLY value resort to offer the family suites! And these rooms are in preferred locations. So the Main building is a very short walk away and the pools are right outside your door! We just stayed at ASMu and it was great! Have a great WDW wedding! I know mine was the best day of my life!

Thank-you for all that information Linda! I am sold on All-Star Music and my guests can have the option of using the family suites as well. I am going down in March for a wedding planning session and we are staying at Pop but after looking at that thread I might change to Music!

I've only stayed at All Star Sports, but walked through the other two. The theming is similar and the Sports rooms have also been remodeled recently.

However, the best part of Sports is that it is the first resort on the three resort loop to be picked up and the first to be dropped off.

Many times, the bus was full before it reached Music or Movies and those people had to stand or wait for the next bus.

Also, in the evening, it saves a few minutes when coming back exhausted from the park.

We stayed in Movies this past October, but you can walk to them all. for example, in Mighty Ducks Section of Movies, the Music foodcourt/buses are closer than their food court at Movies.

One evening we walked over from the Movies resort to the Music food court and went swimming at Music main pool, so we felt like we got to visit two resorts.

We were there the end of October and the Movies pools were pretty cold, and the Music main pool was really warm at night!

I guess if I HAD to pick one, it would be Music, and that is only because of the remodeled rooms, other than that, I think they are all fine. (can you tell us why Pop Century is not an option, if not, that's OK, I just wondered)

I didn't know the resorts were close enough to walk to. That is good to know.

When you book rooms for a wedding you get a certain discount. For some reason you can get a discount at the all stars but not for Pop. That is why I said Pop wasn't an option. There is a higher percentage discount for hotels that are considered convention hotels so the discount for the Polynesian is not very high.

To me, it depends on your families tastes and the age of your children but I like them in this order:

Music
Movies
Sports

I would put Pop first over them all though because I like the pool area much better. Pop doesn't share buses either and the themes are made for everyone.

I would say if you had older boys choose Sports. Young boys and girls would like movies and the Adults only tend to go more Music. My 2 boys 7 & 4 love Sports. Thats what they choose all the time. We request the Touchdown area to be near the field.

I don't really have any big sports fans. I will have some older couples and some couples with young children. I think I am going to stick with Music. They could always visit Movies if they wanted to.

My family and I have stayed at the Music Resort. Our next trip we will choose the Sport Resort. The busses stop there first for pick up and drop off. Staying at Music we found that sometimes the busses were full before they got to us which we had to wait for one with room. It didn't happen all the time but enough that we will choose the Sport Resort. Congatulations.
