Which airport for HH?

I know this has been answered before but couldn't find any info in my searches. Can someone tell me which airport to fly into when going to HH and how long the drive would be?

There is a small airport at HH, but I think only commuter flights from Savannah or Charleston fly in there. Otherwise, Savannah is about 45 minutes away and Charleston is a couple of hours.

We generally fly in to Savannah, but today had friends fly from Indianapolis through Atlanta to HHI. After checking costs, they found each flight was only $50 more than the flights to Savannah, and it was worth it to them.

Hi Doc! We had our 1st trip to HHI this May (if you recall, I asked your opinions on HHI last year, which helped us choose to go). Our trip was fantastic. We almost bought HHI points - and we didn't want to leave. We will definitely go back.

Anyways, we used Savannah's airport. It worked out great. What a beautiful airport (and small). Not like most of the airports we use!

We have flown into Jacksonville FL on Southwest airlines. The savings was huge so we made the 2 1/2 hour drive.We even got the car cheap through Southwest.It was very easy trip as far getting in and out of the airport and on to the highway

We flew into Savanah. It took us about an hour to get to HHI, but only about 45 minutes on the way back to the airport when we knew where we were going.

Thanks so much for mentioning that. We're researching flights for our Thanksgiving trip, and Savannah's so expensive for us, we were wondering about Southwest to Jacksonville.

My parents are flying United directly into Hilton Head ( airport code HHH ) I drive from Charleston, but according to Mapquest, HHI is only about 10 minutes from the resort. ( FYI, the connection is through CLT )
