Where would you go for most bang for the buck

Me and my fiancé decided this year for our Christmas gift to each other we are going to take a long weekend away alone. We were all set on Playa del Carmen, but yesterday I received an offer that has me questioning where we will go.

I received an email offer from a casino players club for 2 free nights at Atlantis in either the beach tower or coral tower. Each additional night is $74 for beach tower and $85 for coral tower and you can get 2 nights at this rate. Our plan is to stay 3 nights wherever we go.

Either place we can use airline points and companion pass and only have to pay the taxes for flights.

If we go to Playa del Carmen our plan is to stay at El Taj Ocean Front close to 5th Ave.

Here's the breakdown, but my question is if you have been to either of these places how much is food going to cost me? Will Mexico end of being cheaper? And does anyone know if you get a comp room if the waterpark is included at Atlantis?

Playa del Carmen:
Hotel - $447.87 includes breakfast
Flight taxes - $166.22
Cab - $70?
Total - $684.09 plus food

Atlantis:
Hotel - $85 plus taxes and housekeeping gratuity so I'm guess $140
Flight taxes - $209.40
Cab - $70?
Total - $419.40
