SO today was my first day back from our epic get away. My Boss the one I LOVE who i consider a friend. and cannot live without here,
he is off today and i found out through another co-worker he announced his retirement yesterday,
EVERYONE has come to me asking why i didn't say anything how could i have kept it a secret...
easy i didn't know. EVERYONE here is shocked i didn't know that is how close i am to my boss..
What am i going to do.... Won't find out until tomorrow when he comes back in. i will not call him... i do not know if i will keep this job any longer.
ok going to do my pictures so i can get on the FUN HAPPY STUFF!

Okay, somewhere on the DIS is a post I THOUGHT I was putting here, cause I joined your PTR at least a week ago and now don't see what I typed. I must be losing my mind.

Anyway, you don't know me, but I feel I know you from hanging out on D~ and Ruthie's threads. I read your whole report and think your kids are cuter than words! I'm glad you had a good birthday and a fun time on your trip. I also can't wait to see photos when you get a chance to post them.

I'm sorry to hear about your boss retiring. I'm surprised he didn't tell you ahead of time, but probably knew it would be hard for you and didn't want to spoil your trip. What kind of work do you do? I think you may have to fight Cheryl for the house next to D~ if I remember correctly. Anyway, just wanted to stop in and say hi and that I'll be following along. We'll be going to Disney twice in 2014 since we take our grandchildren as they turn 5 and we have two turning five next year. We're heavy into the saving mode!!

I know you all are at the tip of your chairs waiting for the report on the BEST dis-meet ever!!! With the Dis people closing reports as of late i hope they allow me to complete the mini report before that happens. IT IS ABOUT Disney, The DIS is the reason we all got together in the first place!

You all know me. If not why are you reading my report?? weirdo...
Suzi and i became friendly a while back through our trip reports and trying to plan our first vacations, then started with our own trip reports, became pretty close! - all here on the DIS.- D~ i just became a stalker of all her fun stories and her lovely bags! Time went on chit chatting we became facebook friends so on and so forth! you get the idea..

Suzi had a great idea and asked me if i was interested in going to Mall of America!!! YES i was. I needed some Disney magic this year!!! Contacted D~ to see if she was interested in meeting internet strangers and lucky for us she also said YES! planning begun.. which you may or may not have read all of this between D~, Suzi, and my reports!
Time finally has arrived and it was THE BIG DAY!!! Thursday May 30!!! I was up about 6 helped the kids get ready for school. had to finish laundry and pack the last of my things, . Looked in the mirror.. and what did i see???

I had a unibrow!!! NO WAY was i going ANYWHERE to meet perfect strangers that i have only had communication with threw the internet!!! I had to get them fixed.. So off i went to pick up some last minute things, and a waxing,
had to wait outside for the place to open up and of course... they were LATE!
a little later then i expected i have two eyebrows on my way home. During my running like mad D, Suzi and i are texting, messaging with Facebook saying how excited we are, make sure we are all on track!
Suzi's flight into Chicago was a little delayed about 15 minutes.. not such a bad thing.
Tom went to pick up the kids from school early so they can also drop me off and i can say a real good-bye to them. I have never left them before, i was really feeling guilty about it. the fur babies just watched with sad eyes..
The bags packed and in the truck it's time to head over to Midway!
Suzi's flight was due in about 2ish, our flight to Minn wasn't until 5:15ish. i hated her to be in Midway for that long and i was very excited to meet her!!! Make sure she was real...
Traffic was NOTHING. i got there about 1:45 said my goodbyes tried NOT to cry in front of them and off i went for curbside check in, made sure the adorable check in guy knew to make sure the one bag was taken care of since it did have camera bag in there!!! found my smoking spot then teared up.
Once i had myself together again, it was time to face the SECURITY check. da da da da... I hate this part. honestly i have NEVER done it alone either! shoes off lap top out everything in the little tub things and into the metal detector.
Nice try people.. I PASSED WITH FLYING COLORS.
as soon as i had all my gear and shoes back on SUZI popped in front of me!!! I hugged her so hard! She looks exactly as her pictures cute as can be!!! I do not have the picture from the airport! hope suzi will post it.
we talked NON stop! she has the best personality!!! we got along great!
She wanted to get a snack.
What do you eat when your in Chicago?!?! PIZZA!!! she ordered a slice of pizza while i ordered a pretzel with cheese the menu had several choices of pretzels. each one i asked for.. they were out. so i got the regular one with a cup of cheese.... Let me tell you. When the pretzel come IN A BAG microwaved you KNOW it is going to suck.
Suzi's ordered a drink with her pizza and the goof behind the counter asked "you really want that it's expensive" what????? way to Go Chicago. On top if that. the Pizza wasn't fit for the rats.
we found a seat by our flight to TRY to ingest for lack of a better word FOOD. thankfully my pretzel fell on the ground!
People watching is one of my favorite past times. we saw:
Cindy Lauper look alike who may or may not was stung by a bee in the face and was allergic to it. VERY WEIRD. several people sneezing and coughing.
In no time at all it was our turn!!!

the weather was so far so good:

on the plane.
She loves me... Because she gave me the window seat!

This flight was NOTHING! maybe a hour and half?!?

then we started to see lakes:

this is where brain fart #1 comes into play:
Suzi is looking at the magazine provided by Southwest In the back is a map of the great USA. she is showing me where she lives, Of course there is an ocean i'll go further The Atlantic is by Maine, go look at it... go now i'll wait...
Did you see how Canada is NOT presented on the map??? you went back and looked up a map didn't you.. I asked the dumbest question OF THE DAY. something of the means of: do you get bad storms from being surround by the ocean?!?! which turned out to be MAINE IS AN ISLAND
there is not a river/lake/some type of body of water on the other side of Maine... It's Canada. really.. it is...
Maine is now an Island. you need to remember this it comes up A LOT.
OK now that my brain has exterminated all flatulence I'm back looking out the window.

after talking with my boss he has told me several times about retiring. more in like 2 years, he would (i thought) joke about leaving in June... Joke on me. I didn't even listen to the rumors.

Talk about an EASY landing!!! nothing like Midway with all the winding down! this is a straight shot. not a fan of flying...
get off the plane i know Suzi and D are texting i am in awe over how small the airport is and how desolate it is! 1st shock to this city girl. off to baggage claim.
I see airport security..................
Suzi still either texting or talking to D~ is NOT paying any attention to me. Security looks at me i look at them.. they (yes 2 of them) know i am joking and i tell them... SHE DID IT!!!
they say OH Yeah it was HER??? absolutely officer!!! we all were laughing AS D~ is right behind the officers!!!! so YES! we had our run in with Airport security... I am still kicking myself in the you know what i did NOT get a dang picture with them!!!!!!!!!
Again i have to say Suzi has the BEST sense of humor!! thankfully...
at baggage check we are finally ALL TOGETHER! I do not have the picture from the airport either! but i was relieved we are all who we said we are not internet stalker freaks...
ALL of our baggage nothing missing! we headed out of the airport on to the expressway and right back off the expressway to head to the hotel! there is a HUGE billboard with the advertisement of "the LICE LADY" WHAT THE... Ummm D.. do you have a large epidemic of lice here?!?! She assures me No.. just some billboard..
OK..
We drive past the Mall of America not so visually stimulating.. directly behind the mall is our Hotel!!! Such an adorable place too!!! the lobby was really cute and decorated very comfortably. we checked in and off to our rooms on the 5th floor. we had rooms next door to each other just not joined.
Suzi checked for Bed bugs while i started bringing out GIFTS!

D opening up V and A gifts from my kids.

Suzi's gift was so thoughtful! She is WICKED SMAART.. She gave us a LL bean bag filled with fun goodies! like taffy cookies and all things Maine! I WISH i had thought of that... i really do. I LOVED LOVED IT!
She ALSO made these:

for each child! its a frame for their PINS!!!! COME ON! isn't that adorable?!?!? So darn creative!!! She wasn't done YET!!! we all got Mickey/Minnie PJ PANTS!!!!

She is awesome.. seriously an awesome person and i am glad to have her in my life now.

after we STUFFED ourselves we went back to the hotel. Suzi was still trying to get used to the time change and exhausted over her VERY VERY long traveling day she was BUSHED!

I would have to agree - Suzi is SOOOO Amazing - both of you are!!! It was so much fun meeting you both, and I can't believe it's over... Sooo sad!

The gifts were awesome!!! V already has pins in her pin board - that was really such a thoughtful gift - they will get tons of use here!

My salt water taffy is gone. Once I told the girls to "try a piece" - they took that as "eat the rest"... That is the best darn saltwater taffy EVER = BIG heart smiley!!!

And the beverage cups you and the kids made - super cute too!!! The girls are still wearing their bracelets that Meg made for them... I just love that! YOu will have to tell her they are a big hit!

And the wine glasses.... Num... I am so glad we got to use them - so not happy that I had to bring the remainder of that bottle home to drink alone though. Wish we would have had more time...

What am I forgetting...

Oh yes... That GIANT photo of my rear posted on the internet for all to see???? Thank God it's sort of hidden in the shadows. LOL And most people will be too distracted by Suzi and her cuteness to notice my rear is there anyways.
