Just wondering where to stay with a family of 6, DH, DS 15, DS 10,DD6, DD4 and myself. Originaly thought offsite bot the downfalls of most vacations is spats in the car so thought of staying onsite but many rooms only hold 4.

You could do Ft Wilderness cabins or a 2 bedroom DVC resort but they are expensive. You could go with 2 connecting rooms at a value or moderate, that way you would have 4 beds and 2 bathrooms for less.

I agree with DebbieB. We have four kids and have done the FWcabins severals times. They are great and so is the campground. Lots to do! The cabins have a full kitchen (saves on meals) and a bedroom with a double bed and a set of bunks. One bathroom and a pull down murphy bed in the living room.

Now we opt for 2 connecting rooms. Four beds and TWO bathrooms are great! If budget is a concern, look for a code or discount at a value resort, two room there are probably cheaper than the cabins. Also, with four minors they will guarantee connecting rooms. Make sure you say connecting and NOT adjoining.

All the Disney resorts have an option for you.

All Stars, CBR, Riverside and POFQ would of course be two rooms.

CSR has a "deluxe" room that will sleep six, but you might be better off with two rooms. The rooms that sleep four can be had with a discount, the rooms for 6 can't, or at least I haven't seen them discounted. CSR considers them suites.

As for the Deluxe hotels, all have suites. Some you can get discounts on, others you cannot.

WL has a deluxe room that sleeps 8 and has two baths, but no discount.

BWI has a deluxe room that sleeps 6. One bathroom. Concierge service. Can be had with discount.

If you are thinking of staying at a deluxe with two rooms, BWI might be an less expensive option for you and it will include concierge service. WARNING: Concierge can be addictive!

That's all I can think of besides the home away from home options already mentioned.

Good luck!

Lori

If you can get a code rate for the All Stars or moderates then I think that's your best bet. You'll need two rooms, but it's still going to be cheaper than one deluxe room. Rates for the All Stars can be as low as $59 depending on which season you go, and the moderates as low as $79.

The cabins are nice too, but only if you like the "outdoorsy" atmosphere.

A two bedroom villa at one of the DVC resorts would be awesome, but probably your most expensive choice.

Good Luck! :)

When are you going??? With a code the All Stars are $49-$69. I have done CONNECTING rooms there twice! It was great! You could put all the kids in one room or keep your little ones with you and DH. We took our nice and nephew (13 and 15) with us in November. We stayed at ASSp and had a blast! One night I opened the connecting door and the kids were gone!!!! They were enjoying themselves at the arcade. Your 15 and 10 yo would be perfectly fine going to the arcade, store, food court and pool on their own. Everything is together in the main building. Having two bathrooms is great. It's much easier getting ready and you have all that storage and floor space. At night you could put the little ones to bed and hang out in the other room. We did this often. We could stay up talking, watching tv, while our DS slept. If you can swing a moderate, the kids would LOVE the pool slides!!!

We are DVC members and are somewhat prejudiced with their room accomodations. Having said that, however, we did 2 rooms at the All Star resort a couple of years ago when a whole group of friends went. We had our family in 2 rooms and ended up being close to the others in our party. It was in October and got the room for $50/night with an AP discount. Although my DH wasn't thrilled as he is very spoiled with our DVC accomodations, I thought it worked out great. I would do it again under the same circumstances. We were close to the pool and food court, which was so convenient for the kids and yet we were on the other side of the building from the pool, so it was relatively quiet for us. There were just too many to share our DVC points. Depending on your budget, you might want to look right here at the DVC rental board. This is for DVC owners who rent out their points. It is cheaper than renting outright from Disney.

Thanks for all the input. We were thinking of early March , but now have to work around DS drivers ED ( they cant miss a session) so probably the one of the 1st 2 weeks of May. Trying to work around the sports schedual and drivers Ed has made this real interesting? Probably will lean towards one of the All stars with ajoining rooms. Has anyone ever had a problem with that because I heard they will not guarentee it. That maks me nervous.
