We need a hotel in midtown for one night. We'd love to have a pool, since touring NYC in July will be HOT for sure. Free breakfast is also a plus.

Any suggestions?

Can't answer without a price range.

Oops, sorry! Well, I know hotels in NYC are way overpriced, so I'd have to adjust my normal price range............let's say under $250/night.

They're not overpriced, they're priced for being in the greatest city in the world. ;)

Midtown with a pool - depends on when for the price, obvs., - you can maybe get into the Parker Meridien for that price, and it's a very nice hotel.

If you're willing to go downtown a bit, the Gansevoort pool is quite famous, and a thing, and on the roof, so it's got a whole view and etc. (and music and lights in the pool and yada and it's all glass). It may also be a bit outside your price range but depending on days you may get lucky, also a very nice hotel.

I *think* the midtown Sheraton (it's on like 52nd or so and 7th) has a pool and should be reasonably priced. It's a Sheraton.

Kudos for not wanting to stay in Times Sq. btw, good choice!

How many and what day do you need? I know that DoubleTree on 50th Lex is $119 on Sunday using Travel Zoo discount code. It's refundable too. Other days may be a bit higher, but I think it's only good for double occupancy so it wouldn't work for a family.

Just one night, mid-week.

Very few NYC Hotels have a pool ...
Best to Google - **New York City Hotels with a pool**

The Travel Inn, which is between 8th and 9th and 42nd I think, might be 9th and 10th ave, I've seen run well under $250. It's the middle of the pack on TA, and it has a pool. Plus I'm pretty sure it has free parking as well.

We've stayed at the Millennium right behind the Good Morning America studios already, for around $200 a night. It was a very nice room, and very nice hotel, though the beds were some of the hardest things I've ever slept on. I don't think they had a pool either though.

Mid week you definitely may get lucky with prices. Really, if you want a pool, and you're only here for one night, I'd say do something nice - try the Parker Meridien or Gansevoort first and see if they're within your $ range. The views from the rooftop decks at night are worth checking.
