When DS was 5mo we brought him a full size stroller with a big basket which carried all our stuff. Now DS is 5 but I’m bringing a Chicco C6 stroller for my 2yo.
For those of you who bring umbrella or lightweight strollers without baskets or with very small baskets to the parks, where do you carry your bags??? If you put them in the stroller handles doesn’t it tip over? I’m not planning on carrying any bag all day at the parks. What do you do?

If you mean shopping bags, send 'em to the gate for pickup on your way out of the park. Don't schlep them around all day.

Otherwise, don't use the basket at all. Bring an ordinary backpack (or as I use, a larger soft cloth drawstring backsack) and drape it on the handles. Just grab it and take it onto the rides, no worries. You just get into the habit of taking off the bag before the child gets out, and you won't have to worry about tipping. (If you have so much stuff in the bag that it's heavier than the child + stroller, then you need to cut back the "stuff" in a serious way.)

I usually just use a backpack - after a while, I usually forget I have it on. To me it's easier than pulling it in and out of the basket.

Before our trip I bought a set of weights for the stroller called tip me nots that worked great. We could put a few bags on the stroller without having them tip. The bags were light weight....check out albeebaby.com. I think it tells you how much weight it allows you to have on it.

I'd carry a backpack. You can sling it over the handles when the kid is in the stroller and it's easy to grab and put on when you need to fold up the stroller and/or go on a ride. You don't want to leave your bag attached to your stroller unattended anyway...to much chance for someone to take it (either on purpose or by accident). I was once at Disneyland and a woman came into the baby care center all frantic because someone had stolen her DIAPER bag, which contained all her baby's diapers, wipes, and food. She had to purchase stuff form the baby center so she could get through the day. Imagine being in that situation...her stoller wasn't taken, only the bag, which she said didn't even have anything valuable in it (and she said it was a cheap Eddie Bauer bag too...)

I bought one of those mesh bags that attaches to the back of the umbrella stroller. It holds a few things, but not enough to tip the stroller. I also bought a stroller saddle bag from One Step Ahead. This was a few years ago, so I don't know if they still sell them. Between those two bags, I was able to carry everything I needed, but I still carried a purse for my wallet, camera, etc.

I love the pannier bags that velcro on the sides of the stroller. We have one by a company called Carry You.

I also have the stroller saddle bag from One Step Ahead, but I take in a diaper bag, as well. I have a Chicco and just put it on the handle and I weigh it down with other bags when shopping. Mine has never tipped over. Try putting several bags on the handles at home and see how it does.

I usually put a bag on the back of the stroller once DS is inside. That way it doesn't tip over. Then we try to remember to take it off so that it doesn't tip backwards when he gets out of the stroller!

Well, our umbrella stroller has a medium size basket, so I can throw a small backpack in there. I did sometimes leave it there when on rides, since it didn't have anything valuable, and I've been lucky so far. Plus, we are past the baby stage - it was mainly extra clothes & snacks. (I also had a small bag for valuables.) We also sometimes dumped stuff in the seat when it wasn't in use (mainly jackets.) If I ran out of room, dh or I could wear the backpack and throw other stuff in the basket when dd was riding.

We use an umbrella stroller. We've found that the lower the weight is (toward the ground) the more stable the stroller is. My mom made us a mesh bag for our umbrella stroller that hangs to within a couple of inches of the wheels. We can load it up pretty good and the stroller still doesn't tip (even empty.) We also have a diaper bag with an adjustable strap. If we extend the strap, we can drape it over the handlebars without tipping the stroller (even when it's empty), but if the strap is short, the stroller will tip.

Edited to add a picture of the mesh bag:

If you are staying onsite send it to your resort thats what we do. we do hold on to a couple of things but for the most part just send it back to your resort it makes going back to your resort a little more hassel free.

Like others - I just kept the bag on the handles when we were walking. When DD got out, I'd flip the bag over into the seat so it would not knock the stroller over. I never kept anything great in the bag - usually just some water, hats if we weren't wearing them and other assorted junk.
