Where is it permitted...and where not?

I just got my first video camera and I'm soooo excited to bring it to Disney.
Heck! I bought it for Disney!

ARe there any DVDrs (8cm) that record more than 30 min on HQ?

Anywayz... my question is... where do I find it if it is permitted to film and not?

Like in POTC, it's a small world, and other shows.

I don't want to take it into rides and movies.

But attraction wise.

know nothing about camcorders but i think most attractions have it posted ( ie no flash photography) or at some the cm will announce no photography/flash photography as you get on or before the show starts

In the three trips that we have taken to WDW, each trip seems to have different rules. I have filmed Oh Canada! on one trip and told no the next.
I have filmed Soarin', TofT, Test Track, Small World, Dinosaur, Pirates, and Space Mountain. Rockin' Rollercoaster was a definite no, but have seen videos on Google Video.
I wonder if it isn't up to the individual CM who decides if filmimg is OK? Ask if you are not sure.

No video or photos of the new Nemo show in AK.

I just shoot video of everything. When I get home, I edit out any parts where I hear someone saying "Excuse me, sir, you can't use your camcorder here." I had some great footage of a security guard screaming at me that I had to cut.

Where was that? At WDW? Would be cool to see that video.:rotfl2:

Also would be cool to put together a video of nothing but instances like that and put up on YouTube.

How often do you get denied?

From memory, the Lion King show in AK allowed flash photography and camcordering, but banned video lights...

video lights?

You mean external lighting?
Don't think I have that :)

I was at the Night of Joy concerts in front of the castle watching a Christian rock group and taking pictures. I almost had my camera confiscated. Security pushed through the crowd and made it clear that I was not to take pictures - I had no idea!! Why would anyone care about taking a picture of a concert out in the open in WDW?????

Wow...that's weird...

Maybe because they are not Disney artists?

No idea...just a guess :)

But there's no excuse if they pushed you around..... There is a way to politely ask before going to such length

There are few places that they won't let you videotape - definitely not at the new Finding Nemo show, probably not at Carousel of Progress, and maybe a couple others. However, please be kind to those around you and don't use the big flip-out LCD screen, use the little eyepiece - those big screens put out a lot of light and are extremely distracting to others.

And, as others have said, be conscious of the light on the camcorder - chances are that there's almost nothing at WDW that it'll help illuminate, so just keep it off.

thx for mentioning it!

Being a first time videographer I would not have thought about the LCD screen making that much light... I'll be careful!
