I am having a heck of a time using these forums. The budget board is full of stuff that is not budget stuff. Vacation account questions, how to get their Iphone fixed? Why are these questions here and not on another board?

If it's just the busiest board than call it busy bodies and make an actual budget board. I am just so frustrated because I am looking for budget tips and having to filter through a bunch of stuff that doesn't seem to belong.

The purpose of the budget board is to have a place for all discussions related to finances, not necessarily just those pertaining to saving money at Disney. It's pretty rude to come into an already established community and try to dictate how they do things.

If you have specific questions, feel free to ask them.

The Budget Board header:

Budget Board
Learn the 'in and outs' of smart earning, saving, and spending your money. Our motto: 'Any dollar saved or earned is another dollar for Disney!' Be sure to visit our DIScounts Page for more Disney money saving tips!

So, as stated, its not just for how to save money DIRECTLY at Disney, but how to same money ANYWAY POSSIBLE. Then all those saved pennies can be directed to Disney. :)

Plus the disboard like to go blah blah blah thats part of the fun here.

If you do have any question or answers please ask or tell,, most posters here will bend over backwards to help out.

So people who need help getting their Iphone fixed come here to ask people where to take their phone because .... budget? I am not talking about the umpteen how to do x to get gift cards, those posts make sense, the post on how to donate a car to charity has nothing to do with budgets.

Or how about the post on how someone is going to leave someone else bad feedback on ebay? What does that have to do with budgets?

I am usually more than capable of figuring things out on my own but all of this stuff clutters the board so bad as to make it unusable.

It is not rude to expect a board called "Budget Board" to contain things that actually have something to do with doing Disney on a budget. Rude is telling someone to go stuff it.

Also, what is with all of the "Help me plan my non disney vacation" posts with no real "help me plan it on a budget" aspect?

If I can come to the budget board and find a cheap place to fix my phone === savings

donate a car to charity, tax write off === savings

sell on ebay to make money for trip bad reviews hurt your sells fixing it === savings

I dont think your should stuff it.... but maybe you should look at it differently..

As in every dollar I dont pay to fix my phone, or in taxes, or can make more,,, is more money I can save for disney...

That is what most of the poster think when they think budget board...

Maybe you should volunteer to be the board moderator so that you can move all those "off topic" threads that you feel are cluttering up the board?

Is that the problem, no moderators? I could do a few hours a week if that really is it.

Please don't take my comment as being in the spirit of "ganging up". So many costs involved in a Disney vacation are either fixed or driven by the market, it seems like the best way to save on Disney is to save up and be frugal in your every-day life. What seems to have happened here is a community of people who love and/or appreciate Disney have come together to learn from each other how to pinch pennies and save some money. It may or may not be for a Disney trip, but it seems like for most of us we are either getting back from a trip, planning a trip or scheming to book our next trip.

There was no questioning what would be cheapest for fixing the phone it was just a desire to have someone tell her how to get to a store and to choose the place for her.

I guess people will always make excuses for things.

And like I keep saying, every.single.post. those are not the posts that are clutter, the posts that are clutter are these

How do I fix my brand new iphone 6 that cost the same amount as an ap? Should I take it to sprint or to the apple store? Help.

I am going to Tennessee. What are things I can do there?

Has anyone ever donated a car?

When are homeschool days?

I am going to wine country, what's not to miss?

Ebay item delivered to wrong state?

Is there something specific you'd like help with?
As you can see each thread is accurately titled so I do not understand why you are reading posts you are not interested in?
Do you actually have something you'd like help with or are you just here to criticize ?

maybe trolling us?

And yet a thread that complains about "off-topic" threads is not, in itself, also off-topic?

If you don't like the way this board is structured, take it to the administrators of the disboards and register your dissatisfaction. By posting your complaint here, you're insulting the people who regularly visit and post here. You might also want to take a look at a sticky thread at the top of this forum entitled "A Question for the Budget Board". It might enlighten you to how regulars on this board feel about its content.

lol I like you....

Your missing the point of crazy dis board madness.

Half the thread are about silly stuff... Kind like this one.. but fun...

I see, no one cares about being able to easily access posts and therefore we should all be so happy. OK. You all completely miss the point of giving forums themes and titles. I see that ignorance is really bliss.
Well, I guess we've all been schooled in how we should be posting. Thank you for coming here to point that out to us.

FWIW, I never cared for the randomness of this forum but the majority rules. The majority of the people who post here like the board the way it is, so I've come to accept it. The search function works pretty good now and I can skip over the threads that don't interest me.

You've been asked more than once if there is something specific with which you would like help. You may want to start a thread with your questions.

You are correct, the budget board is a random spot for left over budgetish type question.

There is already a dinning plan, resort, forums. After those to areas, this is where all the left overs go.
