NWS 11 PM UPDATE puts Allie in a Tropical Storm Watch! Just talked to her and she said, in preparation, she bought a loaf of bread today and would go get water tomorrow! Hope she has something to PUT on that bread if the power goes out! She's excited to go down to the beach tomorrow and watch the surfers. Crazy to think the hurricane heads for the east coast and west coast also gets a taste of it. Winds predicted from all directions; powerful storm. Should be an "educational" couple of days for her!

Haven't heard from her today but hope she gets a chance to go to the beach! Waiting to see if they'll cancel school tomorrow too! She's going back to grocery store so hopefully she'll grab a few other things to go with that bread! They SHOULDN'T have many issues; looks like the impact for the west coast will be about what we had here for Hurricane Beryl in July but you never know. Tornados develop from hurricanes. Need to ask her if the power lines are buried in Melbourne; hope so, that would be awesome. Glad we're not at Disney World this week! That's Amanda's biggest fear...an October hurricane!

Well...no luck getting out of school ; Florida Tech is the only school in Melbourne that is holding classes during the hurricane! At least she'll be done before noon and hopefully back home before the really strong winds arrive!

Allie's all good; wind but no worse than when Texas gets a Canadian cold front in February so she's used to that. A few showers but not heavy. Class for today is done so she can enjoy her afternoon but things could get rougher toward the end of the day.
