This is just wrong.:rotfl:

Yes it is. I am wondering if they would let me run as big hero 6. This way I would have several feet of insulation all around me. The running part I guess would not be too bad.
the worst part is is because there are about 20 to 25000 people also doing these running events that you are required to be on the bus by 3:30 to 4. By getting on these buses early you will have to stand around for 2 to 2 1/2 hours waiting for all the runners to get there. If you wait past 4 to 4:15 with all the traffic that is being generated you may miss the race start.

the race starts at 5:30. Then they start sending everybody off in waves. My wave probably won't go off till about 6:10 a.m.

I was just going to post that picture. My brother and I will be setting up his camper early Wednesday afternoon. Then we will see if the flurries come.

When I saw that picture on Facebook this afternoon I immediately shared it with my sister and the kids and then posted here for JEFF ::yes::...I'm guessing he's probably out washing his car again :rolleyes1 since he hasn't commented. Hope y'all aren't setting the camper up IN THE SNOW :rotfl:; dang...that's gonna be nasty cold at Ft. Wilderness surrounded by all that water. :cold: My niece-in-law answered my text with "I believe it...it's FREAKEN' COLD!" (they were at DS waiting for their T-Rex reservation). That standing around in the cold business is for the birds :scared:...THAT'S just wrong! I hope they have heated tents set up! Still have soccer scrimmage scheduled for Redstorm's team tomorrow EVENING...the least they could do is move it to early afternoon :headache:. I am NOT looking forward to sitting in those cold stands watching that! :sad2: Some of Redstorm's soccer friends play on the team they're playing and one of the mother's told DD they'll have propane heaters in the stands with them...we MAY be sitting on their side. ::yes:: We've been invited ....:tink:

It was so overwhelming at the time, I missed a lot of the "facts" but Hurricane Harvey was one hell of a storm. I got a book for Christmas, published by the Houston Chronicle, and began paging through it this evening. Texas and Louisiana had 34 TRILLION GALLONS of water fall...as much as 2001 Hurricane Allison, the 2015 Memorial Day flood (and the reports from the WITW News Desk :goodvibes) and the 2016 Tax Day flood combined. :faint: I've probably seen most of the pictures in this book but 4 months later they all look "different"; it's like WOW :faint:. :tink:

Lol no I was out BBQing dinner in the dark with just a shirt on

Well..."Pixie Dust pixiedust:" is "alive and well" at the Magic Kingdom. :yay: My sister and her family had a ROUGH start to their trip when they arrived at the CR to discover their Dining Plan was ALL messed up. :faint: The new changes for 2018 (the addition of the alcoholic beverages to the plan) was not included since it went into effect today so they had to change all the MB's to reflect that change. In the process, their room reservations SOMEHOW got messed up and, bottom line, it took 4 hours for my nephew (who booked the trip) to get it all straightened out. In the meantime, 5 of the "party of 9" had reservations at T-Rex so they were given a temporary MB so they could make their reservations this afternoon. Arrived at T-Rex, ordered and were ready to leave when the server brought them a BILL for $200.00+. They explained the situation and upon further investigation they were told they had it straightened out BUT...THEY WERE COMPING THE MEAL as apology for the inconvenience. :dance3: pixiedust: #1. :yay: Since it was so late in the day and there were so many problems with the DP, they decided to return to the CR calling it a day, to discover 2 of the 4 reserved rooms had been UPGRADED to MK VIEW :dance3: (those were the only 2 available or they'd have upgraded ALL 4 ROOMS :faint:!) So my sister and nephew/wife and 2 kids got to watch the fireworks from their rooms! :dance3: pixiedust: #2. Other nephew, niece and their spouses had evening reservations at Narcoossee's; were seated, ordered and when ready to leave were GIVEN THE MEAL BILL OF $400+ :faint:. They had told the server they were on the Dining Plan but the correction that was SUPPOSE to have been made 4 hours earlier DIDN'T SHOW THEM ON THE DINING PLAN. :faint: They asked to see the manager, explained the situation, he checked and discovered they WERE on the DP, returned to the table and COMPED THEIR MEAL party:. pixiedust: #3. :rotfl2: STRESSFUL beginning of their trip and HOPEFULLY everything is now straight (along with pixiedust: #4 ... extra fastpasses for tomorrow :yay: and DP worked for snacks this evening)...they're "anxious" and nervous to see if all is well but as of now the Pixie Dust has netted them $600.00 worth of "free food" :rotfl:. BUT...as the great-nephews watched the fireworks from their balcony (wrapped in blankets :cold:) with "stars in their eyes", the 4 year looked at his Dad and said, "It's like MAGIC in the sky"! :lovestruc Made the whole day worth it! :thumbsup2:tink:

Park, resort or other?

I'd rather run a marathon than go to Ghana!

It's 6 degrees here this morning :cold: and yet, I have to go out and feed Lulu.....

That is good and bad about your sister's trip. 4 hours of hassle after traveling all day is not fun. But - a party of 9! But $600 of comped food!!! and MK views of the fireworks is pretty sweet!!!

Awww - I love it!

SO DO I...the boys were there 3 years ago but don't remember much...especially the little one. I'm SO glad the "Disney magic" is in his heart and on the VERY first day of the trip. :yay: Made a VERY imperfect day into an absolute perfect one for my sister...and me...trying to calm them down and assure them their problems would be taken care of. "Just be patient and CHILL...and above all be NICE to CM's...they were there to help!" :faint: :tink:

That would be a hands down decision for me too...I'd run a marathon (may take me 5 days though :rotfl:) instead of going to Ghana too but Justin is one very special young man. :lovestruc He's so strong in his faith and feels it's his calling to spread the word and help as many people as possible. He tells such heartwarming stories too from his mission work; they'll break your heart knowing how some people in the world have to live. His mother is on "pins and needles" the entire time he travels, as we all are, but he begins planning another trip as soon as he returns. :lovestruc

We didn't get as cold as predicted...no 13 or even low 20's but it's darn cold for us down here. My heater ran for the first time last night even with a roaring fire. We've been holding around the freezing mark well into the early afternoon when it gets up to 34. Our prediction tonight is around 25 with possible snow this evening too...yet they STILL haven't cancelled the soccer scrimmage! :headache:

The only plans they had yesterday was Disney Springs and a visit to WL so it wasn't a "park day" which was good. They left Houston at 7:45 AM and the 2 1/2 hour plane ride gave them a chance to rest a little. I had warned them :headache: January 1st would be a great travel day but a total hassle at DW. :rotfl: When New Year's Eve has 2 parks at capacity (they closed Epcot also) that's a "boat load of people" that will probably be checking out January 1st. It was most frustrating for my sister because the "problem" was over the addition of alcoholic beverages ...neither one of us are "drinkers" so she didn't care if drinks were covered or not! :rotfl: (The kids did though :rotfl2:!) It's very frustrating when you EXPECT that MB to work and it doesn't (she couldn't get in her room either :rolleyes1)...had to make a trip back to the front desk to correct that! All together, she made 4 TRIPS up/down the elevator to the front desk last night! :faint: But...YES...that MK view was SO worth. She said it is AMAZING being able to lay on her bed and watch the fireworks. :goodvibes Hoping today is better; their biggest obstacle today will be leaving HS for reservations at The Coral Reef. They have Indiana Jones FP's for the 1 PM show and reservations at 2:30. HOPING the boat is waiting at the dock for a quick trip to Epcot; if they have to take the bus and walk from BW or Y&BC in the cold and wind it will NOT be good. :rotfl2: :tink:

We live just east of Lakeland and about 40 miles SW of WDW, so we are in the pink, but I really don't think we will get any, but if we do, I will post pictures!

Here's a picture.

snow in orlando by Denise Horner, on Flickr

PLEASE DO TERRI! You're not far from my Dallas Cowboys friend in Lakeland and your chance of snow is about as much as ours but stranger things have happened. A few years ago there was snow on the Texas coast on Christmas Day; we're around 200 miles from the coast and didn't get a flurry!

Denise...LOVE the picture. :rotfl::tink:

I'm glad to hear their trip got better. Always nice to have pixie dust.pixiedust: I've never been lucky enough, my last 2 trips didn't start out very well but no pixie dust for us. MK view must have been so magical.:cloud9: Hope the rest of their trip goes smoothly.
