Where In The World 21. We are now completely legal!!!

Just saw where they are closing Fort Wilderness Sat At 2pm. For those that asked, I am the blue dot.

I see that Irma has shifted slightly to the west and puts the eye close to or over you on Sunday afternoon.
PEACHY :scared1:. Heard somewhere Orlando could have 100 mph winds. Extra ties on the trailer for you! :tink:

Current winds are 150. Orlando will see close to 150 mph winds. I will see the worst winds a few hours sooner than Terri. The winds won't drop that much between Terri and me.

This is Sven. Now just tell me who is with him/what scene? It's not the rock people or Kristoff and Anna.

Wow you are right in the path! You didn't feel like driving north in your RV? I think I would. I heard 39% of the gas stations were out of gas and that was this morning. And tomorrow is only Friday. Horrible to sit and wait for it.

All of the roads north out of the state have been crazy backed up. There are a lot of reports of traffic jams everywhere. From South Florida we have 3 major highways north for evacuation. I-95, I-75, and the Florida Turnpike.

All 3 are taking close to 3 and 4 times longer to drive from point A to B than normal. Traffic delays are extending all the way up to Atlanta. With that much volume of vehicles gas stations along those routes are running out of gas. There will be some people stranded somewhere on the sides of the these evacuation routes. Or they could be stranded on side roads while looking for gas.

We will need all the prayers for the best outcome for Terri and me along with all Floridians in the path of Irma. Sunday is going to be a rough day.

I will have the WITW News Desk going with updates as long as the cell towers are standing and have power.

Be sate Terri.

My husband works in engineering at our local hospital, so he will have to work during the storm, so we have to stay put. As for our travel trailer, we will fill all the water tanks and load it with extra stuff to make it as heavy as possible, and just hope for the best. I am more worried about our boat, it is a lot lighter, husband is going to work on getting it anchored down today.

You too Ed. Making last minute arrangements today for our travel trailer and boat, going to make them as secure as we can. Going to see if we can get a few pieces of plywood today and do at least the two bedroom windows and that is where we will stay during the worst of it. Husband will have to work (he works in engineering at out local hospital) so it will be my son and our fur babies riding it out at home.

Don't remember many other scenes with Sven. I think there's one where his tongue is stuck to an icicle. :tink:

Ed and Terri, you've got two more days of waiting, you might as well take a guess on my Sven.

This is Sven. Now just tell me who is with him/what scene? It's not the rock people or Kristoff and Anna. His tongue is not stuck in this scene. Just name another character in Frozen.

I only rode it once, so not exactly sure. I remember the one with him and Anna and Kristoff, maybe the other was with Olaf?

Ed...why don't they do contraflow lanes? Early yesterday or late Wednesday I heard the governor say they were "working on it" but haven't seen it happen yet? That was the reason we left Bellville at 9 PM before Hurricane Ike instead of waiting until 4 AM to make our flight. We were afraid they'd close the inbound lane into Houston and make it an outflow also...and they did! I've only seen 2 lanes of traffic on the long stretches of road? Are they not using the "shoulder" as a lane? That traffic is horrendous! We dealt with that here during Hurricane Rita when Houston residents all left at once instead of "in zones". We had 3 lanes of traffic coming through Bellville and that's saying a lot for a "one traffic light town". :rotfl: DH directed traffic 12 hours straight that day; it was taking 17-18 hours to get here from Houston...a normal 45-60 minute trip. Same situation with the gas; cars littered the side of the road. At one point, DH was draining the farm equipment and work trucks to put gas in some tanks to get them in line for the gas stations. While I understand the preparation on an individuals part, my heart sinks when I see individuals filling up 6-7-8 gas cans once they get to a station. Wish they'd "think about the next guy" and maybe just take ONE extra can now so evacuation for others can continue. Saw the highway patrol escorting the gas trucks in but just not enough of them. This has NOT been a good year for my favorite beach spots; first Port Aransas and now Cocoa Beach :headache:. Sunday is going to be a horrible day :scared: and constant prayers coming your way. Not looking for those cell towers to last so get back in touch with us ASAP when repairs are made. Heard last night Texas has volunteers on standby to get to Florida as soon as it's safe along with 7-8 other states. The "Calvary will be coming" :goodvibes ... hang on....and keep posting until the towers go down so we have less time to worry about you! :tink:

That would be perfect if the "air made of hot soup" weren't over Texas. It has been B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L here:cloud9:. Current temperature is 77 with crystal, clear blue sky. :cloud9: Dang pool water temp is down to 74 so no "pool time" until it warms up a little but sure will be a nice night for Friday night football! :tink:

Smart idea putting extra weight inside the trailer!! :thumbsup2 Wish I could get a LOAD OF BRICKS there for you to help with the weight. Hope you're able to find plywood for those bedroom windows...and some brick or something to put in the boat too! :rotfl: Silly question but can you fill it with water since water adds weight? You'll have a tougher job than your husband during the storm...being home without HIM! :scared: If all else fails...follow tornado drill preps...mattress next to the bathtub. I'd certainly put water and a few supplies in your bathroom or closet in case you do have to shelter in "an inner room" during the worse part. DH had to stay behind also when we "got out of town early" before Hurricane Ike. At least I didn't have to worry about him at home alone since he was "in the emergency bunker" at the Courthouse with other County officials. I honestly worried more about my dogs that night as I watched the TV from our room at the Poly. :goodvibes He'd put them in the playroom in our house but still worried they'd freak out with the noise and being alone. No need to say it but please know we'll be keeping you in our prayers also; not just a long Sunday ahead of y'all but a LONG few days of "digging out" and trying to get back to normal after it passes. :tink:

WOW :scared1:...study by Texas A&M on estimated power outages in Florida/Georgia/Tennessee due to the storm...2,660,000! They took into consideration the wind, storm surge, soil conditions, tree coverage, etc. and came up with that number. Hope y'all have enough gas to run those generators awhile. :grouphug: :tink:

Yes, this is above the registers and it has something to do with Florida...not necessarily the orange groves or oranges but it uses oranges to "identify" Florida. It advertises something but not travel to different countries. :tink:
Um, how about advertising a festival? (I have no clue, just trying to get the guessing train rolling again. In light of the impending storm, I've mostly been coming to this thread for Irma updates.)

Heard a cute report on a Houston radio station earlier from Spokane, WA. :goodvibes about a couple getting ready to celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary. Irna is 88; Harvey is 104 :goodvibes. They have 3 children and have raised 120 foster children. :tink:

Thank you Elizabeth :goodvibes; thought my crop was totally forgotten. :rotfl:

Good thought but nothing to do with a festival. This refers to DW and Florida in general. Thanks again for keeping this going. WITW and The Dis was a great "getaway" for me before and after Hurricane Harvey.:scratchin You need to get away from the "news" sometime and especially WITW got me thinking about something else a lot more pleasant! :tink:

I'm stumped on this one. Something that Disney World and Florida both have? Food? Sun? Clouds?
