As much as I adore Disney..and love to talk disney...just got wondering what other people do on vacations outside of Disney..or how often you make the trip back to the World??

Nicole :umbrella:

We normally go to Daytona Beach once a year. And we normally go to WDW one day of the trip. This was the first year in a long time we did not go to the beach. Instead spent the week at WDW. We really enjoyed Disney. But as soon as we got back home my DS9 asked when are we going to the beach? :scratchin

We try for Disney once a year or every other. On our 15th ann. we went to Nashville. Loved  it. Going back for 20th but now DD12 wants to go. A couple times a year we go to either Port Huron or slip over the Niagara border for a little shopping.

We usually go to Ocean City Maryland on our non-Disney years. This year was supposed to be an "off year" for us, and we went to Washington D.C. for a long weekend.

The free meal plan came up, and we couldn't pass up the deal, so we're going to Disney too.

We generally try to do Disney every other year. Honestly, though, we can easily spend as much going to O.C. Md as we do going to Disney!! :confused3

We usually combine a stopover to Myrtle Beach or Daytona Beach along the way.

Otherwise we plan regular trips back to Hawaii. Plus, my goal is to visit all 50 states before I am 50. I've reached about 1/3rd of my goal.

We like to have a major National Park trip planned. Last year it was Mesa Verde/Arches, that area, next year it will be Yellowstone/Grand Teton.

This summer (last day school today!) DS13 & I are:

July 1-5 camping in Maine
July 21-27 NH beaches
July 29-Aug 7 DS will be spending a wk on the Cape w/MIL
Aug 13-27 and we're going to Disney World

We have a few trips planned in addition to Disney (August 13-20):

July 1-6 up north WI to celebrate grandps'a 92nd birthday (they still go back and forth from FL to WI!)
July 15-21 camping in central WI
August 9-11 Green Bay Packers pre-season game! (DD7 first game!)

I also have 2 school conferences to go to: Nashville and New Orleans (no kiddos and DH. I don't know if I am :sad1: or  about them not being there!)

I go to Disney once or twice a year, either by myself or with my children or other family members.
My husband and I have become addicted to cruising (not Disney too many children for my husband) and have been taking a cruise once a year.
My mother has a place near Bethany Beach, Delaware so if I need to get in a quick inexpensive vacation I have that option.

I have been vacationing in Rehoboth Beach, DE every summer for most of my 45 years. Our family had a cottage in RB that has since been sold and we have been camping at an RV resort a few miles from the beach. That resort has since been sold to make way for luxury homes  so this will be our last summer there. RB has gotten very expensive but I just don't care for Cape Cod which is a heck of a lot closer to me. My long-term goal is Hawaii for my 50th B-day in 2009 -- DH won't go unless we visit at least 4 of the islands, so I'll need the next four years to save up for it. We have been visiting WDW every summer since 2001 but with the latest AP changes, I'm not sure we'll be able to visit as often.

Good vacation ideas everyone. I like the idea of visiting all 50 states by the time you are 50. Good idea. Maybe I will have to try that one! We enjoy cruising as well. SOuthern Carribean is my favorite. Have not yet been to Hawaii, hopeing that will be a 10 year anniversery deal. *still have 5 years to save. (LOL)* But we hope to do Disney as well at least every other year. *but hoping for every year*
Good ideas..would like to hear more!
I also liked the National Park thing alot. I have always wanted to go to Arches. Thinking about Grand Canyon for next Fall. Anyone been?

Outside of Disney? Why would anyone want to do that? :rotfl:

But earlier this year we decided to do something else and visited my
son's father's family in CA, but of course we went to Disneyland too! ::MickeyMo

We are hoping to go somewhere in Europe perhaps in 2007, but maybe
by then Disney will have their medittaranian cruise (sp?).

My son really wants more than anything else to go to Japan.
Now there's a pricey trip! But perhaps for his graduation in 2008?

I also love the idea of going to the 50 states by the time I am 50. I have been to 34 of them and I am 34 years old, so doing pretty well. I love to take the kids to see different parts of this great country.........even tho we love Disney. Not sure what is next for us tho.............the states I havent been too are in the NE.

We always try to go somewhere warm like Puerto Rico or Mexico. DH is not too fond of Disney, but we've managed to do to WDW the past 2 years and we just came back from Disneyland a couple of weeks ago. And, I was able to convince him to go back for a weekend trip in November! HA! But next year, I'll have to give him the year off from Disney. Maybe. :rolleyes1

Grand Canyon is awesome! We've been in March. Still a little snow, though. But not many crowds. But, I can't imagine a time of year when it isn't wonderful there!

We've done many years at Myrtle Beach. We love to cruise too, been on 5 of those, one being Disney which I won on the radio! My husband likes to backpack once a year to a National Park, going to Glacier this year.

My sig tells the Disney tale. Outside of that, we love (I mean love  ) St. Augustine. We're going there again and trying Universal this summer.

My folks just went to Costa Rica and had such a great time that we're planning that as our destination next March, thus pre-empting our planned Disney Cruise.

Other favourite destinations are New Orleans and Cancun. In the future, we also plan to visit Ottawa, Montreal, Key West, Hawaii, Hong Kong, China, Grand Cayman and a host of others. Plus frequent trips back to WDW, of course.

Kungaloosh!
Morticia.
