Stay for 9 nights - swap half the people out on night 5?

We are trying to plan a longer trip and had a question about how this works.

We (the D’s) want to stay in the same 2bedroom at BLT for 9 nights. The V’s will join us for the first 5 nights for a total of 7 people in the room. The remaining 4 nights the V’s will leave and the C’s will join us for a total of 6 people in the room.

Do we need to book two different reservations, link them, and just make the request to keep the same room?

We really don’t want to have to “check out” for half a day if possible.
 
If I was planning this trip, I would reserve the 2BR for the entire 9 days for my family. I would add the first family to stay with us. The day they leave, i would go to the front desk and take them off the room and at the same time I would advise the front desk of the new names that now will be staying in my villa. The new family will need to get cards at the front desk for entry or make sure their magicbands are linked to the room so they could use them.
 
I would book as 2 separate reservations and then be homeless for part of the day. Do the Cs want clean sheets and bedding? Or will you be doing that for them? Personally, if I was the Cs, I would want clean bedding (sheets/towels/blankets/pillows), but that is just me.

Valid point I wonder if you could ask for new sheets. We have been brought sheets up when requested, but that was for a twin air mattress. This is a completely different situation. I wouldn’t wanna waste all day using the washer and dryer in the room so being a hold of us for part of a day it might make sense although it would suck to have to move everything out and back in.
Are they offering the extra cleaning again? I think they are but it’s been a while since I checked that might be an option if it’s available.
 

Since you would be staying more than 4 nights, as DVC you get the full cleaning rather than trash and towel on day 4.
I wonder if one could change the day 4 full cleaning to the fifth day so the second family would have clean sheets.
 
I think you can call and pay for a full cleaning at the break - from the FAQ since I have not done it , but I will try it on Xmas since my parents are not into not having the room cleaned for a week.

Ask MS to make a note on them as continuous reservations. I know the names will differ but it should be possible.

Regardless if they want to or not, then on checkin day for the first reservation you talk to the frontdesk and ask them to ensure you won’t change room AND ask that you get a full cleaning.

UPDATE - 2 BR at Rivera is $60 per full cleaning , you can use chat to schedule the days ahead of time. You will be billed at checkout.

This makes me wonder if I have seperate consecutive reservations because they are on different memberships (two nights on one membership and two nights on another) does this make me eligible for a cleaning when the two nights on the first membership are up even if its a continued reservation?

If the second family wants to make lightning lanes in advance, they could only do it at 3 days because they are not listed on a resort reservation.
 
If MS merges the reservations, you do not get the cleaning ( unless it is 8 nights or more), or the extra water park on check in day. If they are left separate you are not guaranteed that you won't have to change rooms.

The 1 time when I had rooms that were not merged, they were not able to put me in the same room. Despite the comments on the reservation. But this is only a sample of one.
 
I haven’t done this, but I would do 2 separate reservations with the differing parties and then tell the front desk that you’d like to stay in the same room the whole time if possible. I’m sure it’s not guaranteed but I doubt they’d want to bother having you move.

No it would not. If they are marked as a continuous reservations you wouldn’t get full cleaning until day 4.
If they are not marked as a continous reservation then you sort of get full cleaning because you need to checkout and get a new room. But that will make you homeless for the day.

If you need full cleaning on day 2 I would just pay for it. Then you avoid being homeless, checking out etc.

You have to stay at least 8 nights for the full cleaning, but they swap T&T and the full cleaning so the cleaning happens on day 4.

I didnt know you can pay as an option? Do you know how much it is?
