Where can my child eat (fill in the blank)?

Hey all.
WDW table service restaurant server here. Sorry, but I'm completely annoyed by misinformation making my guests grumpy before they even get to me. So, I'm starting the "NO MISINFORMATION THREAD" about where you can get your child's favorites. Please feel free to post what you are looking for. It might take me a couple of weeks to track down copies of all of the kid's menus, but I will.

Other CMs, please PM me if you have First Hand menu knowledge as a CM in that location. I'd love to kill this whole fight by posting what's really at WDW for kids to eat.

For starters:
New healthy options are grilled fish with rice pilaf, mixed veggies & yogurt OR Grilled chicken with marinara'd macaroni noodles topped with mozzerella cheese, mixed veggies, and yogurt.
Also seen at some restaurants are Pizza w/ mozzerella and diced chicken, veggies and brown sugar apples. (Chicken is labled optional on the menu. Unsure if it's still a pita crust, can anyone help?)
Beef and Macaroni w/ marinara sauce and mozzerella, with veggies and fruit salad.

The point is that in doing this list I realized that anyone who thinks their kid is going to starve at WDW no matter what they eat just hasn't done their homework. Pretty much every "favorite kid food" is offered in multiple locations. If your kid eats only one of these foods, with a couple of buffets, you could eat somewhere different every single night for at least a week and still have your kid eat the same thing every night.

This is helpful list, but since the menus changed again on Dec. 3, it's hard to know what's accurate and what's not.

And there was a poster who said there was NO grilled cheese at Ohana anymore when she went last month.

Edited to add: Also, there have been plenty of posters who just got back, and told us the kids menus were terrible for their families. There also have been a few who said it was fine, as well.

I said it was a start for the OP to work with, which is a heck of a lot more than you've done in all of your whining and complaining.

Of course if your time is better spent being nasty, calling people names, being critical and in generally being a miserable person, go for it. There's very little that will make you happy, chicken little .

I *really* don't want to see this thread closed by the mods so let me say this as someone who was accused by Jodi of being against special needs kids (laughable as I *have* a special needs child) that it's all good. I get her frustration and anger because I've been there. Not over food issues. But over other things. I think as special needs patrents we spend so much time fighting - the system, the schools, society - that sometimes we take it too far. We assume that everyone is against us and that no one understands what it's like to be blessed with these kids. We get tunnel vision. I hope Jodi can take a step back and realize that Disney isn't against special needs kids and either are the people that support the new healthy menus. I hope so. I think she will.

I agree with Disneymom2one. Let's please let BuffaloGal and the others try to help out here.

No one is going to be completely pleased with everything. Not every menu is going to please everyone. You might have to "shop around". For years my nieces who love baked or grilled chicken and fish, veggies, salad, and fruit could never eat "kid's meals". My sister never got upset about the fact that the kid's meals were not what her kid's eat, even at WDW. She simply made do by buying adult meals.

For variety the buffets are a great idea and they are located all over the World. If the DDP and the kid's meals do not fit your family, then don't get it.

I think SOME menus were changed on December 3 - surely not all of 'em at one time.

As for "plenty of posters" deciding the existing choice were 'terrible' for their families vs. "some" posters saying it was fine - a higher percentage of people tend to disseminate negative experiences than the much higher number of people who report on their positive, or as-expected, experiences.

I don't have a copy of the menu from Chefs de France, but the kids in our group got fried chicken strips (not nuggets, but nice, white meat chicken tenders) and my kids got the fried fish (this looked like a pan-fried fish I'd make at home, lightly breaded, nicely fried, great seasoning. I tried a bite and it was delicious!) Both came with french fries. I can't remember the other entree choices. No choice on the kids' appetizer, they all receive a cheese puff (puffed pastry with cheese (it wasn't very good, but the kids were busy downing my pate and DH's lobster bisque, so they didn't care). Dessert choice for kids was ice cream (chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry).

We were there for Thanksgiving. My eldest is a very high functioning Asperger's child. We're pretty tough on him about trying new foods and he knows he has to take a bite. He discovered gravy is okay on turkey & mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce/jelly is really good. The older he has gotten the more open to trying new things has really improved.

Bigger problem was younger DS who was getting tired of Mac & cheese and was having major "marinara & parm" withdrawl. Next time I will check the menu before making ADR's. Guess we will be hitting Mama Melrose or Alfredo's next trip.



Now try to decide to DDP or not. Eldest is 10, sometimes he can suck down the food and others a child portion is enough.

We chose this restaurant because I thought 'surely they will still offer Chinese food to their child patrons.'

Thank you. I'd love to have this information in advance. I'd really like to avoid nothing but junk food. Also DS doesn't eat peanut butter or mac and cheese. He would however eat fried chicken nuggets and cheeseburgers for longer than I'd like. We're planning a lot of buffets and table service to avoid the children's menu issue, but I'd really like to know which counter service will have more extensive lists of options. If the Disney employees can make suggestions to their bosses it would be wonderful to have an option of half or quarter sized servings off the adult menus for the kids. It would certainly make a lot of people happy to have that as an alternative--I would expect the price to vary with the item maybe half or a quarter of the adult price.
