Late Summer/Early Fall Incentives

I am a little confused with what discounts apply to which resorts...
If I want CFW, am a Visa card holder, interested in MB, what other discounts might there be?
What would my bottom line price be for 150 points. not including closing costs/
Also are you currently a member or brand new to DVC? If brand new, you can get a referral from an existing member for another $500 off.

Not really thrilled with the new offerings as a member who already has direct benefits but is still considering adding on some more direct, but I didn't really expect much anyways.

Not touching CFW with a 10 foot pole with those dues, location, limited room types, and resale restrictions. I already have enough RIV (I think lol), Aulani I would never go direct at this point. Poly or VDH I was considering an add on but not great deals on those.

I will probably keep looking out for deals on subsidized AUL for Aulani stays and SAP on the resale, and probably Poly on the resale market too at this point. I could just grab one when a decent deal shows up and it will hold it's value. I want to add some more direct points in the long run, but with Poly resale being unrestricted and having access to the tower, I don't know if I can justify the increased cost for direct.

Maybe VDH if it is confirmed to be inside the park eventually with the expansions, or LSL if it looks amazing. What would really get me is if they do another Epcot resort (new BC addition or YC conversion probably) or a new DVC that goes along with the MK expansion with it's own park entrance. I would probably sell my BWV points before they drop in price and flip to more direct points if they do either of those things. Maybe even do a small direct VGC addon at some point if they keep ROFRing

I think everyone can agree that pit is the one that will retain the most value, but if you dont particularly care for that resort you shouldn't buy it.

The 11 month advantage will be useless to you or your going to spend, depending on room type you like, way more points at PIT than you would a resort you actually want to stay at which is the whole point of this thing. You will save thousands on dvc resorts if you hold it long enough No matter where you buy. There is also more years on Riv than any other contract and if you're young enough and want to go to Disney the rest of your life if possible (me) then Riv makes the most sense in many aspects. Ofc resale is way cheaper but you will be blocked out of future resorts and events we all know that. There is reason to buy each resort.

Akv being the only one with club level, value rooms, good food and awesome animal experience like no where else, Riv only epcot resort with incentives, good food, more upscale experience without the sass lol, skyliner etc, Poly great for families, awesome pool, beautiful tp view.

Buy the one that appeals to you and enjoy your vacations with your friends and family for many years 😀

The deal on Riv and AKV is good for what they're putting out lately so if you like it and have the $$ i say stop thinking about 1 aspect of many (resale value) and go for it. If you love Poly then you got that retention of resale value in the future even if the price is more than the others today. Go for it.

I see your point, but for me, we don't own there and that is what the wife loves. I like the idea of the concierge rooms also. We don't live Riv. I guess the difference between direct and resale could drive us to Poly for $4500 more.
Concierge rooms are very hard to get so if thats what you want you have to own there. But you dont have to own direct there. Resale can get you concierge.

A couple things.

- $4500 more for Poly will get you an extra 9 years of life on the contract and has lower dues than AKV.
- Resale prices will likely hold better at Poly as well.
- The price difference for resale on Poly vs direct isn't as big of a gap as AKV direct vs resale.
- AKV has much better point charts than Poly which is a huge plus and can justify owning there even with the higher dues especially if you love it. But I still dont think it justifies owning there at direct prices.

If you want CFW at 150, you can get $30 discount at 150, $1,500 discount for Visa card holder, $3,000 rebate for MB, and if you sign up for D23 gold (cost is actually about $60 and change due to shipping) you get $500 off. This assumes you are a current member, varies some if you are not.

Appreciate the insights. I am trying to justify direct to get the bennies and ability to stay at DLH and Riv also. Mostly AKL is easy to book at 7 months except concierge and value and it is possible concierge could be a one and done for us so maybe not the best idea. It is my wifes favorite though. Need to think it through more. The total initial direct price to get the bennies is what I am looking at but might not really be the best move. Maybe I will wait for something better. Also the timing is just right MB and our Sept use year.......

Just saw this post about why you would like direct. It does make sense if you want to stay at unrestricted resorts but I would only buy assuming you will be hard pressed to actually book concierge or value rooms. It will be stressful to be ready to book at 11 months and you wont always win which for me would be very frustrating if I spent that much money for one thing and it didnt happen. At least with resale you didnt spend as much.

I cant remember if you own DVC yet or not.. If not this is DVC once you become a member you will want to buy another contract in the future anyway and that could be your direct purchase at discounted member pricing because you own AKV resale.

Assuming the above numbers are effective, it is a $5000 discount on the $26,250 price. $21,250 divided by 150 is $142/point. This is an awfully temping way to get a blue card, and *maybe* get owner's status at LSL. I still wouldn't risk it.

And if I was the CFW resale buyer who just agreed to $135/pt, I would back out of it and buy direct (I think they're still in the grace period).

This is the rebate sheet

I’m not sure where $26250 is from?

We love POLY (have 200 direct pts). And we love RIV (have zero points.)
We have no interest in resale.
Debating between 100 more at Poly OR 150 at RIV.
If you are ok paying the 20% premium for PV at Riviera I would keep all my direct points in one place. That’s also what I would do your situation. The point chart is so high at Poly that I would wanna be able to apply 300 points at 11 months.

My vote is Riviera Direct in your case. Standard View rooms, 11 month availability, longer contract life all would win out for me.

You take a bigger hit on resale I think, but who cares….

Bank and borrow between UY to make the contracts work for you better.

And, in your case, I’d avoid MB so you start strong with your points. We did MB on 150 points and honestly I regretted it. The cash was nice, but in hindsight the points would have been better.

I agree i regret buying a stripped contract that ended up with me having to pay more for otu points, fail🤦‍♀️

My guide is saying I have to have the physical Disney visa card and can’t just apply now and get it to be eligible for the 1500 dollars off of CFW. Is this right? Are they really going to lose a sale of a struggling property over semantics? lol

New guide time, there are plenty of them eager to make a sale, they have tried to steal me many times.

All you have to do is go chat on the website and start speaking to one and it will automatically assign you a new guide, whoever you speak with, my guide told me to get off chat and message him when i have a question 🤣🤣

That sounds lazy. I think they don't trust you. Just apply for the card online. You might get instant approval if you don't have a fraud alert on your credit like I did. If you have instant approval, call Chase and tell them you need your card # right away for a DVC purchase. They might have to transfer you to Disney, but if you are approved, I'm sure they will be happy to give you your card # ASAP.

I was asked if I had one, I said yes. Done deal.

Although if you do apply it will take maybe 10 days to have the card so not a real long time to wait to sign.

You can call Chase to have them expedite delivery if you need.
