.... sleep all cuddled up with your significant other, touching/next to them, or "Gimme my own space!"

When we first lay down, we cuddle, but after a few minutes, I turn over. We're still next to each, but not all wrapped up.

My SIL's DH likes to cuddle, but she wants her own space. No touching while actually sleeping.

We will sometimes cuddle a bit and talk, but when it's time for sleeping, I need my own space. I'm in those wonderful menopausal yaers, so if I slept cuddled up to him all night, I'd be too warm.

I like to cuddle but really want my own space to actually sleep.

Add me to the cuddle, then space group. DH is one of those people who is always hot and makes me too hot sometimes! We are usually touching, maybe his arm over me, for most of the night, though.

This is us as well.

I've never been a cuddler; I don't want anything touching me as I try to go to sleep. And with 2 hairless dogs that have to sleep up against a warm body under the covers, it's totally out of the question. I now find myself half hanging off the bed trying to carve out my own space.

Another cuddle then leave me alone here..... I like to sleep on the inside (against the wall) though I wiggle and turn alot, so it works for both of us

Space, space, space!

My husband and I were laughing about this last night. He comes to bed after I'm already asleep (we go up together to read, then he goes back downstairs to work after I fall asleep). If I'm hogging the bed, all he has to do is lie close enough to touch me and I scoot over in my sleep because I can't stand to be touched. :lmao:

Thank you! I am not alone in this. I have reminded my DH for 17 years not to be offended. I don't care WHO you are....do NOT touch me while I'm sleeping! Mine isn't a heat issue, it's just that whenever he moves, I wake up. That makes for a VERY long night.

Ongoing problem.....DH doesn't agree, so I do, in fact, have some sleepless nights.

My wife and I cuddle all night long. Going on 17 years and we still sleep sort of spooned together all night.

Works for us. Summers we just keep a fan on with a light sheet. Winters are perfect!

We'll cuddle a bit before sleeping or after waking, or on the sofa watching tv...

but no, when we sleep, we like SPACE. LOL. We both like to just sprawl out.

I move around and kick and turn a lot and get up and down a lot, and he barely moves all night, so I don't like him getting in my way and he doesn't like me disturbing him.

I actually spend more than half the week sleeping on the sofa, anyway. I work evenings until 2 or 3 am in the kitchen... he goes to work in the morning. He likes dead silence and complete darkness, I like to keep a tv on. He snores and grinds his teeth, and it drives me crazy when it's the only sound in the quiet room. So a lot of nights to wind down after I finish working, I just put on a DVD and stretch out on the sofa and fall asleep there and then I crawl into bed around 5 or 6 am when nature calls me to the bathroom.

Both of us are in agreement on how we're "sleep incompatible"... so there's no hard feelings about it... it's how we get along when we're awake that really counts.

I need space from the moment I get into bed! When we first got married this was the biggest adjustment I had to make, getting use to him in my bed! I like my space (while I'm sleeping anyway! ;))!!

Get a new mattress!! They have several now that when one person moves, it doesn't move the other person! You know the wine glass on the bed with the girl jumping on the bed commercial? I LOVE it!! I think ours is a Beauty Rest, wasn't cheap, but well worth it!

We have an antique bed that is only 'full' size. I refer to our sleeping style as "Puppies in a Box".:thumbsup2

Oh my, how would YOU know something like this? Hmmm, Alphabet mom?

I was wondering how long it would take to go there. :rotfl:

Seriously? you didn't believe it would be two to three seconds?

hehehehhehehehehe

RUM? (for "reading"!!)

:rotfl: SIL was complaining about it one day. She wants her space! I know lots of other things about their marriage that I really don't want to know.
