When you fly

This brings up an interesting question. How do you feel about seat recliners? Do you resent them, or does it not bother you?

Soemtimes I recline sometimes I forget. I dont mind seat recliners at all. If they werent supposed to do it the seats wouldnt be made that way.

Now I do mind people that kick my seat back more than a couple times.::yes::

When I fly I stay in my seat the entire time, except for rare bathroom emergencies. I have flown enough that I don't really care where I sit, although if I have a very long (8+ hour) flight I generally prefer not to be in the middle of the 5 seat center rows. They're just so hard to get out of. If given an option, I will take a window seat. To pass time I usually read. Books, magazines...oh, and I love those in flight magazines with all the expensive crazy stuff you can buy. I'll watch movies if they have them. The last time we flew DH downloaded some of our favorite tv shows to my iPod and we watched those together. I try to sleep, but it's almost impossible for me to do.

I tend to get motion sick and even with dramamine I'm pretty useless when flying. Since we still fly with a kid in a carseat, the carseat gets the window seat and I'm content in the middle - niether my or DD need to move the whole flight. I pretty much just close my eyes and try to stay calm and not puke. Flying is not fun for me at all.

I always get an aisle seat when I fly. That way I don't sit there obsessing over having to climb over people when I need to use the bathroom. Plus, it makes me feel less clausterphobic being on the aisle.

I always bring a book or two to read on the plane. And I get a bottle of coke once I am thru security. I like having the twist top bottle, instead of the small glass they give you. Bringing a snack along is good too. This last trip we had trail mix, candy, and goldfish crackers.

If like to chat with other people, as long as they look open to it. It makes the time go much faster.

Definitely prefer window seat. I am a seasoned traveler and still get a thrill from looking out the windows!!

Other than that I read, do a crossword or sudoku, and maybe chat with seatmate if we're both in the mood. I have a hard time sleeping inflight.

That is my goal most days. Sometimes I'm successful, other times not. ;)

Yes, me too, although I alternate between wanting the window seat for the view and wanting the aisle for the extra room and convenience. The middle seat would be pure torture for me.

Slamming one's seatback forcefully as far as it will go the moment take-off is over invites me to flick things over the seat. A gradually glide is much more polite.

What kinds of things do you flick?

Try to use the rest room before I get on the airplane so I won't have to get up..

Window seat..

I'm always staring out the window.. Can't read (makes me the equivalent of being car sick).. However, the last flight down to Florida I had the best conversation ever with the woman sitting next to me.. She was a hoot :rotfl:
and before I knew it, we were landing! :thumbsup2

Whatever is handy. Lint. Little pieces of paper. Not boogers or anything terribly gross.

Go ahead and get gross. Let 'em know you mean business.

I have bad knees and last year almost died from a blood clot, so I NEED to have an aisle seat so I can get up and mosey down the aisle or just be able to stand.

I usually read and listen to my IPOD, sometimes sleep depending on how tired I am. Also drink water, juice, etc.

I like the window seat personally. Got quite the thrill on my last flight down to WDW, got to see Epcot, DTD, and the CR from the plane. :teeth:

I never get to see any of that, but I always get a good look at the nuclear power plant.

Thank goodness the longest flight we had was almost 5 hours. That was to Vegas. Our flights to MCO are less than 3 hours, so yes I absolutely do stay in my seat. I can't even stand the thought of having to use the rest rooms on the plane. So I take care of that beforehand. :rolleyes1 There is always 3 of us so we are seated together in the same row, so we usually end up talking to one another or just watching tv if we're on Jetblue. Or bring our DVD player otherwise. Also bring games and MP3 players. ;)

I'm getting ready to fly to Las Vegas in a couple of weeks from the east coast. I really hope nobody on that flight eats beans or broccoli the night before. :sad2:

LOL. We didn't have nonstop flights so that's why it took a bit longer. Hope it works good for you. Have a great trip. :)

I like the window seat and I will stay put, I hate using the airplane bathrooms. I usually bring my Ipod and listen to my music or watch a movie. If I try and read, I usually get sick.

The only time I don't like it when people recline their seats is when I am stuck in the aisle right before an emergency exit because that row you don't have any extra space and you can't recline the seat back, so it is the worse situation to be cramped from the beginning and have the person in front of you reclining back taking up more of your space.

Before we had DS, I tended to stay in my seat when flying. HOWEVER..after our last flight with him, I made every excuse to get out of my seat.:lmao: DH HAS to have the aisle seat (long legs) so I got to sit next to DS who talked nonstop the entire flight.:lmao:

"Mama what's that?"
"Mama what's down there?"
"Mama can I has that book?"
"Mama whatchoo doin?"
"Mama can I dwink yer dwink?"
"Mama can I has some snack?"
"Mama..Mama..MAMA.."
:faint::rotfl2:

I like the aisle. I do not like to get up and browse around. I sometimes have to sit in the middle of the kids to prevent fighting if I am flying without my husband.
