About the evils of eating popcorn? I just broke a tooth on my favorite part of popped corn, those half popped kernels? I love those things. I just sacrificed about half a tooth to one of them :(

Doesn't hurt yet but it is sensitive to cold. *sigh* I suppose I will be spending some time at the dentist tomorrow if she's got any available time :(

I had popcorn like last week. Yesterday my tooth was killing me. If I touched it, I wanted to cry. I'm thinking that I need a root canal or something, and then I feel this thing, get it out, (whincing the whole time) and it was skin from a popcorn kernel!!! The pain stopped instantly! Now, it's not like I don't brush my teeth, but that little sucker was up under my gum.:p

I'm very afraid of popcorn now.

I'm always yelling at Tim not to eat the kernals. Maybe I have to start yelling at you now Kath.;) :p

OUCH! For both of you! LOL! I had that kernel skin under the gumline thing before too... and it was a pain (literally!) to get out. :)

Aw, sorry guys. Just pass the popcorn my way please. :)

Sorry, Native:( :( . I cracked a filling in the same fashion two weeks ago and lost part of the tooth. When I finally could get into my dentist's office, I was told that I now needed........A CROWN:( :( :( :( :( . Well, we don't have $1,000 floating around in the cookie jar, so the tooth is unrepaired. Hope that your situation is better:D :D .......

YIKES, Eros, that is what I'm worried about. Those crowns are expensive.

Geesh EROS that seems pretty high for a co pay on an insurance plan... surely you have insurance coverage.

I have had SEVERAL crowns and my 50% co pay was under $400 each time.

No insurance, DIXIE ;) ;) ......... The premiums are too high here for the coverage offered.....

Chomping down on those kernels is a little like playing Russian Roulette isn't it? You just never know if they're going to "give" or if your teeth will...

Hope it works out.:)

No.. and neither will I.. I love those half cooked kernels.. so far I have been lucky.. hope you do not need a crown.. ouch... Hugs.

Awww hugs, Kath...I never eat the Kernels, I don't like them...

Ouch Katholyn!:( I know what you're going through and I hope your tooth is as good as new real soon!;)

By the way.............. Merry Christmas to you and your DH as I haven't "talked " to you in a long time! :sunny: Hope your New Year is a good one too!

Sammi, you are so nice. Thank you and I hope you have a wonderful holiday. We really should talk more often, don't you think?

Oh my! I eat the kernels all the time and never thought about that happening. I guess I should stop eating them, but I don't really like the popped popcorn, so that doesn't leave much.

{{{{HUGS}}}} I hope it doesn't start hurting before you see the dentist. I quit eating popcorn many years ago. I had a friend who had a popcorn husk get lodged in his colon and have to have surgery to remove it. Nothing major, but very painful and he had a hard time sitting for a while!:o

That is very scary, Ellen, I think I will have to give up popcorn completely, now.

The tooth is throbbing a little but not too bad yet. Hope I'm lucky and it won't get worse
