When will '09 dates be released?

So I have a question...do you ever sleep?:rotfl2: :lmao:
:coffee: if it's 2pm in California (where I am) is it 10pm there. It's 8 hours right? I see you on every thread;) But I really do like reading your thoughts:thumbsup2

I think we should vote where to go. Of course we should have more than one vote.....say list our top three.

places I want to go

1. Europe again....any part....Greece, Northern Europe, Italy, Spain, France...any or all will do.
2. Hawaii
3. Alaska
4. Easter Island.... OK I know I said 3, just want to go there some day.

places not to go....

MEXICO:sad2:

your turn.....

Hi your times are good, yes just past 10pm here and off to bed soon, have actually cut down on posting, only a couple tonight, had 'parental' commitments.

1. Europe again....any part....Greece, Northern Europe, Italy, Spain, France...any or all will do.

On my doorstep, would love DCL to come back here, I was very happy when CaptainTom said, the Magic would go back to the Med ( no date) and also seamed to hint at Northern Europe, that would be sooooo nice. But the tide seems to have gone against that one now.

Cruising the Med is so good and so much to do there. I really recommend it to anyone.:thumbsup2
2. Hawaii

Going to get 'shot' down here on this one, I have been to Hawaii the tourist island Waikiki beach and Honolulu, but I didn't like it at all. I understand the big island is better.

Pearl harbor was fantastic and spooky for what happened there, but all the tourist shops, ABC stores really were more like the Spanish Costa's rather than paradise. I had an island tour to the Polynesian cultural center that was OK, but its not on my radar.

I wouldn't go back.:sad1:
3. Alaska

I would be interested in that, I know little about it but I think it would be very educational. Not too sure if DCL is he best cruise line to go there on though.;)

I'm only voting once for 2009 becaue I am saving my other vote for 2010!!:) My '09 vote goes to Alaska because we've yet to visit there. I think it would be fasinating to cruise by glaciers with DCL! As far as the other routes mentioned, they're just o.k. with me. I may want to do them. I may not. I would rather go to Alaska then all of them. If it's not Alaska and it's somewhere else, maybe once the itinerary is made public, maybe just maybe I might decide to do it. If I don't do it then I will get my Disney fix with a 7 nighter. If I chose a close second, it would be Europe. As far as my 2010 vote, I want Hong Kong!

I'm only voting for one place and its Alaska and its because then we dont have to fly but for 2010 we would be very interested in Hong Kong

If we could vote mine would be The Med again but I think its down to Alaska and Carribean area. ''Closer to home''.

You know the "closer to home" reference, the "home" could mean the whole continental United States not just Port Canaveral. It could mean the ships will not be going to Europe or Asia in 2009. So Alaska could work with "closer to home" statement since it is part of the US.

OK, that's my "wishful" thinking theory of the day. ;) I think I'm starting to confuse myself.:rotfl:

ok, I'm adding Hong Kong too for 2010. Our DD graduates high school next May so after that we really don't have to follow her schedules. (although she has said she will still be traveling with us..:lmao: )

But my top vote is the MED again. We were there for 6 weeks this summer and it was the best. We did 3 weeks in Greece first before going on the Magic. Did a one week Greek island cruise on a small ship (Easy Cruise) and drove around for the other 2 weeks. There is so much to see there that 3 weeks was not enough time at all.
If we go to the MED (any part) we could explore more of Greece again!

I know what you mean but I understand it has been said in the context of, after two years away in the Summer, IE the Med 07 and the West Coast 08, the Magic will be staying closer to home in 09.

In that context, I do not think it would be Alaska, if that statement is correct.

I love Greece, my favorite place is Lindos Rhodes, I would love a Eastern Med cruise!:thumbsup2

Hey Denise- DH and I spent our honeymoon in Greece. It is a fabulous country isn't it? Back to the discussion at hand, from my understanding (DIS Podcast) Hong Kong/Asia is a rumor for 2010 not 2009. I really don't think DCL is heading to Asia in 2009 and as far as Europe goes I think there's only a small chance for it in '09. But who knows? Disney is all about surprises!!

In the summer on the Magic there was high hpes after Captain Tom said in the CC we will be back to the Med and how about northern Europe? the trail has gone a bit cold since then but we can hope.

What is interesting is that DCL has yet to release the early part of 2009 yet.

They could just release Jan/Feb/March without giving out any details as to where the ships will be in the summer.

Unless there could be different itineraries even in the winter/spring or the ships are leaving from a different port (Tampa/Miami).

You'd think they could release the dates for the Wonder cruises for Jan/Feb/March.

Its a mystery.

I was hoping that DCL was just trying to TRICK us by giving us a big TREAT today, but I guess it ain't goin' to happen.......:sad2:

Just subscribing so that I can keep my eyes open for the 2009 dates.

I've been reading this board with great interest, but I finally gave up and called Disney just to ask and see what they say (not that I was expecting much). The woman I spoke with said that her best information was that the '09 cruises would be bookable starting in December and that we should check the website regularly in November. She did not have any idea about whether certain booking periods would become available sooner than others. She said she knew it was later than last year and that a lot of people had been calling but that the "higher ups" were telling them nothing so far. Sigh.

Oh wow, I haven't logged in in ages, and I see my little bitty post has 27 pages?? Guess I'm not the only one dreaming big here!

Still planning on a 2009 cruise. We talked last weekend of foregoing a big family vacation in '08 to save our pennies for '09. Worth it to me, for DCL anyway.

Cathy
