When will '09 dates be released?

Just got off the Magic yesterday - no new news here. The rebook agent confirmed that they don't expect to know the new dates any earlier than first week of December.

Well we board the Magic in less than 2 weeks. I'm planning to make an on board booking to transfer to an 09 date. Since that is the first week of Dec., hopefully there will be some news.

I still believe that there will be some type of special itinerary for 2009 even if it is just an addition of a few new Caribbean ports. The higher fares charged for the speciality cruises has to lead to higher profits for DCL and I just don't see them leaving any money on the table.

They were told something "Big" while they were cruising. I am emailing her back to see if I can find out the date she is cruising. Just thought I would share an FYI!!!!!!!

Cool - I am waiting for the news with baited breath - still holding out for a European Itinerary of any kind... it probably means the difference between cruising or not cruising for us as the flights to the US make it prohibitively expensive and we will have two kids aged 4 and 18 months in Summer 09 and I am not sure I fancy the long flight to the US with a toddler!

I just got off the Wonder yesterday - when I went to book onboard and talk with the rep. - she again said the dates were coming out in December.

She also gave me a new book that she had just gotten = and actually just opened the new box of books = with the 2008 & 2009 schedules. But no prices or points that will be in effect.

What does it say about 2009 schedules? The one I have only has this year in it (we cruised in April), but it says to contact a travel agent or DCL for 2008 dates (it was obviously published before those dates came out). Is that what it says for 2009? I just ordered a new DCL planning guide with DVD this weekend hoping for an updated one and maybe a sneak peek at what's in store for 2009. I'm sure they wouldn't let anything slip out until the "official announcement," though. But I'm still hoping...

Did it at least list the dates the ships will be sailing in 2009 (without the itineraries)? That would at least give us an idea of how long the cruises will be.

That is the other big mystery. It usually depends if they have some "special" itineraries in the summer.

They have released only the first few months, while other times they have released all but the summer (i.e. 2005 itineraries).

Hopefully we'll get the whole shootin' match in early December (if they release at that time).
