When to go next fall/winter?

Need help please in picking the optimum time to go. We want low crowds (no events), and moderate temperatures (no cold nights). We are looking at mid-October, mid-November, or mid-December.

Should the storm/tornado season be factored into the decision? Is it too cold the middle of December? Are schools having fall breaks mid-October? Is it really special to go mid-December for Christmas season?

Thanks for suggestions and opinions.

Thats a tough one...October is more and more crowded every year with fall breaks and food and wine festival, November is a little slower after "Jersey Week" which I believe it the first week this year up until THanksgiving week when it will be busy again...however you could get cold nights, this year November was pretty chilly in the evenings. Mid December is nice for the decorations, but will be colder and busier. I would not factor in storms much that time of year. I hope this helps:)

We like to go mid September before the food and wine festival. The afternoon rains are a nice time to rest and grab some grub or you can be like my kiddos and throw on a poncho and play. There are little to no crowds, premium parade seating and if you have to wait in line it's never more than 10 min. I highly recommend it.

Tornado season? Tornados are rare and mostly occur spring and summer. Perhaps you were thinking of Hurricanes? Also quite rare in central Florida.

I would pick mid-November for both low crowds and moderate temperatures. A lot more schools have fall breaks in mid-October now.

You may already know, but just a heads up in case you don't. In regards to the comment that you want low crowds, *no events, Magic Kingdom does have parties several nights a week. Sep and Oct will have the MNSSHP, and Nov and Dec will have the MVMCP, S, T, Th, F at 7 p.m. each week until the week before Christmas. There is the one week between the last Halloween party and the first Christmas party that is free for a little longer stretch than when the parties are regularly scheduled. For most all weeks, you'd have to schedule your MK days around those party nights if you want to avoid being in the MK park then.

When you are asking "is it cold?" I think the answer depends on where you live normally. Coming from England the temperatures in December are equivalent to an early/late summer temp most of the time. If you are from a more Northern country or bit of the country, December may feel beautifully warm.

Mid December still Christmassy though and a lot of fun, although the parties need to be accounted for.
