When is YOUR SCHOOL'S SPRING BREAK-2006?

I voted April 3rd. The public schools in our area (central Indiana) are pretty evenly split between the week which spans March/April (March 27 on your poll) or the first full week of April (April 3). The public schools keep the same spring break week each year. The private schools (most are church affiliated) generally change each year to be in sync with Easter. Since Easter is so late in 2006 some of the private schools are taking off the week leading up to Easter, but most are starting spring break on Good Friday through Easter Week. So our area will have spring break spread across 4 different weeks in 2006.

Most schools in TX will have Mar 13 - 17 as their spring break days. A few will also have the week before and the week after.

My college spring break in N.C. is the first week in March. I was thinking about going to WDW that week but I was unsure of how the crowds would be.

Well, I didn't vote, as I'd need to vote twice. We've moved, and I've decided to move my son to the neighborhood school for 5th grade (new district), while I'll continue teaching where I am. So, my district has a true break Feb. 27-March 3rd, and then a five day weekend April 7-11. My son has spring break March 13-17.

Ours is April 13-17, but these are also snow makeup days, so who knows if we'll get a break!

Should be the 17 - 21 for us in CT. It's also the week after Easter Sunday.

Ironically, my spring break starts on a Friday! I'm a lil confused. Anyways, I go to a SUNY college and our break is March 24 - March 31 (well plus that weekend too). One of the SUNY community colleges around here is April 12 - April 22. And another situation of irony, the Public Schools in the area do NOT have their breaks/vacations listed on their website.

Another Texan. Sometimes we will have the following week. But previous poster is correct - most Texas schools will have Spring Break in the March week which contains the 17th. I had to find DD something green to wear to school this year.

Wow, my kids must go to the last school system in the US that doesn't have a week off for spring break!

We live just outside a college town, and their spring break is the week of 3/6, but my kids will generally only have two days off that week.

In the East Kootenay area of British Columbia Canada, our spring break is March 13- 17,2006. We are planing on going to Disneyland , California at that time. wondering when Spring break For California will be in 2006.
We had a blast at disney in 2005 BUT there were so many People, but such nice ones

Hi, my mates and I are thinking about going over to Miami for Spring Break in 2006. We live in England, so have very little information on what goes on. All the different dates are pretty confusing (i understand that certain schools go for some time and other schools go afterwards etc). When would be the best time to go - we are looking for a massive experience, so whenever its the busiest would be ideal for us. Is it too early to tell, or is there a way to find out what dates will be best for us?

The best time to visit any Theme Park here in the Central Florida Area around spring time is in the beginning to the middle of May. The parks are quiet and lines are not long.

The last few years in Chicago Spring Break started the week after Easter, so that made it the 3rd week of April. In 2005 it started March 21st, the week before Easter. This was the earliest I have ever seen Spring Break. I don't know what it will be in 2006. I hope it is towards the end of April.

I realize that the English speak a different language from the US but it would seem to me that the above misses the point...

I think the BUSIEST time would be around Easter if that is what you are looking for...of course it all depends on what the original poster meant in wanting a "massive experience." WDW is massive any time of year--but in early May the hours and entertainment are scaled back for the lesser crowds...but around Easter you get lots more offered but not necessarily more done because of the crowds...

Thanks for this post. We are hoping to go to WDW next year over springbreak and I am secretly hoping that the crowds might be lighter since our break next year is not around Easter. Our spring break next year starts Mar 27. Of course, we have a very small school district - around 2000 kids. I would be very grateful if all of you from big school districts could encourage your schools not to have their spring break this week.
