When getting a Hotel would you rather

Both!!!
But, in most cases, that is way to pricey...
On a family trip... space is a necessity!
Neither DH or I require a whole lot of space. So, for just the two of us, the smallest room with the best view/perks that we can get on our budget.

Our nice ocean view cabin on our Alaska cruise was big enough. (and cruise ship cabins are pretty small) Since balconies come at a premium on these cruises, I researched and got one of the nicer OV rooms that had a huge picture window.

Lucked out and had a skyline view in a small room in NYC. (Joined their 'club' and get instant upgrade)
No view outside of Sedona/Grand Canyon. (went for condo size with our DS)
Had a ground level pool view walkout in Mexico - a one bedroom too! (but not oceanfront view)

Right now just DH and I are hoping to plan a beach trip to a gorgeous world class beach.
I am still considering whether we might spend more to get a pool/ocean view. This destination is EXPENSIVE.
I would be happy to book a garden/resort view, except some of these really do not have the nicest view at all. So, of course that is a crap-shoot.
In either case, we would book the smallest room category. Don't need a big suite.

Yea, If I can pick only one, I think I'd have to go with the better view also.

If heard if you slide the desk clerk a twenty, you can get both:teeth:

I'd have to say the bigger room. We recently spent a week in a hotel and I never once even touched the curtains. I have no clue what our view was. LOL

Location is usually my biggest requirement, and when I used to travel for my job, room service was a requirement. I absolutely hate eating alone in a restaurant.

I would rather have a bigger room. I usually keep the curtain closed so I don't even see the view.

With kids - SPACE!

Couples only trip- view!

My kids have always been good sleepers. Noise and light never stopped them from falling asleep so having a balcony so we could chat or unwind wasn't necessary but having big enough beds and space to put our crap was more important.

Now we are going to DR next year. We are doing a family suite which automatically will overlook the beach so win win.

In most cases, I'd choose the size of the room over the view. (We're "standard view" aka "parking lot view" Disney people.) Most of the time, I hardly look out the hotel room window. We're either out doing stuff, or resting.

There are a few occasions where I might choose the view over the size of the room. Someone mentioned an Alaskan cruise. If looking at the scenery from the room was a big part of the vacation, maybe I'd consider it. (And honestly, if my choice was between "view of the fireworks" at Disney vs a larger room, I'd probably choose the fireworks. But since you can't see the fireworks from our Moderate resorts, I'd take the room size over the pool view or garden view.)

Depends on the location. In general, neither one is really a big deal to me because I'll rarely be in the room -- but if I'm in a place known for being beautiful then I like to enjoy that view every chance I get

Have a bigger room or a better view ?

both have qualities I want but if I had to pick I think I would go with the view

My priority is the bed size. I want two queens, not two doubles. I don't so much care about the view, though if the view is good, I'm happy. The size of the room is pretty irrelevant unless we have both kids with us, then we need enough floor space for a Aerobed somewhere in the room.

We go for the nicest hotel we can afford with the cheapest room category. We'd rather squish 5 of us into a small room as long as the hotel amenities/location are great. Could really care less about the view as we're never in our room. We've taken some awesome vacations & stayed at great hotels with this philosophy. Friends of ours always have to have a suite & they are never happy with the hotels they end up in. They always wonder how we afford to stay at such nice places.

Could care less about either generally speaking. I might spring for Ocean Front if I'm on a beach trip and will be staying at the beach the whole time. I generally prefer to allocate money for a hotel that has prime location so that I can walk to where I need to get. That's much more valuable than a view or some extra space.
