We actually were at a hotel overlooking the Freedom Tower in Manhattan earlier this week. I failed to mention that in addition to not caring about the size of the room or the view, I'm cheap. And DH's client had a limit of how much $$ they would reimburse for his hotel bill. Because I'm cheap, and the reimbursement limit was $365, I booked the smallest, least expensive room in the hotel, and we ended up on the opposite side of the hotel from the Freedom Tower, down on the second floor. The view stunk. But I just walked outside and around the building to look at the view. That was enough for me.

I am a product of my environment. Growing up my father loved to travel and we did travel a lot, but his favorite saying about hotels was, " I'm only renting it, not buying it." Translation- we always slept cheap.
