When Does It Hit You...Your at WDW??!!

When Does it Hit You...Your at WDW?? Tonights Top Ten:

10. When the pilot says the Orlando weather today is 78 degrees, and I left single digits just earlier that day.

9. When I come down the escalator and the Town Car driver has a sign with my name on it.

8. When he drives under the Welcome sign and Mickey, Donald and Goofy wave at me.

7. When we pass the first Disney Transportation bus.

6. Ah...those purple road signs with Mickey's ears peering over the top.

5. Seeing the thatched roof of the AKL.

4. When the AKL staff welcome me and I see the animals while walking to my room.

3. Waiting for one of those fabulous Disney Transport buses.

2. Having my biometrics read to get into the park. (I must say that the photo pass I have for DL is much easier).

And the Number 1 event that makes me realize I'm at WDW.

1. OFF KILTER! I haven't arrived on vacation until I hear them play their first set of the day!

Our first 3 trips we stayed at FW - so that WDW feeling really hit when the launch to MK came thru that canal between Bay Lake & Seven Seas Lagoon by the CR.....

Now, I get all excited when we land in MCO - like someone above said - the monorail at the airport is our first "ride"

I agree - when we turn off of I-4 and see the first purple & red Disney road sign . . . then I know I'm home again!!

For my family, it's when we see the big signs of Donald Duck, and Minnie Mouse and the gang as we are driving on to property. We have always driven and gotten there around 2 pm. This is our first time flying and we don't even touch down until 11:30 p.m. So I'm not sure if the kiddos will be very excited at that time of night. Probably have to pack them in asleep and cranky! LOL!:D

Oh my gosh!!! Look at my counter, almost there!!!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

For our first trip as a couple, DH and I saved for over a year and then ended up buying a condo instead...The price was soo good but it blew all our savings. I was so desperate to go to WDW that I became the savings Nazi. I was on high gear and in 10 months I saved everything back.

We drove from Canada and it did not hit me that it was really going to happen till we crossed into the State of Florida at 8 pm on the second day of driving..I cired like a Baby...

We were supposed to stay in northern Florida that night but I could not, we drove to Orlando and I saw a DISNEY SIGN...I cried again...:p

Now it's as soon as I see the The large Arch Disney sign...I still tear up.

I know those Disney tears well. It's so bad now we're 31 days out (I think!) and at dd's dance class they do a disney song last every week and for the past 3 weeks I've cried at dance class! I'll probably cry getting on the plane, cry when we get off, cry at the property line and cry at the hotel. But get outta the way when I hit the tunnel at MK, there will be crying LOTS of crying!

I guess it's just the overwhelming feeling of joy, but I LOVE those Disney tears!

I usually get the "feeling" when I'm landing at Orlando Airport, and it continues to grow as I check into whatever resort I'm staying at, but I don't feel as though I'm really there until I am standing on Main St., USA, looking at Cinderalla's Castle.

For me, it's walking under the train station and coming out viewing Main Street and the castle.

When we step off the plane and feel the Florida humidity....... and DD and I are down to 37 days!!!!

Would you believe I'm crying just reading this thread? So glad DH isn't here!

Yep, I believe it, that happens to me on the Dis almost every day! So, if anyone will be at the MK the night of November 5th, I'll be the redhead sitting on Main St crying tears of Joy!

I'm so glad that I'm not the only one crying while reading this thread! My EX-DH could never understand the tears. Perhaps that's why he is the "EX" - lol.

For me, it's most definitely the Castle. For most of us 30-somethings and beyond, it was just the Magic Kingdom on our frist trips. For us, the Castle is "it", ya know?

Thanks for the disney fix until I scrape up the funds to go again

When we see the large signs at the entrances to the property that say "Welcome to Walt Disney World".

:)

Definately cliche but...Walking down main street and seeing the castle....I live close to DL and have an AP there...usualy go once or twice a month, and love it....however, by comparison, the castle at DL is not nearly as impressive or overwhelming. At WDW you feel...well, immersed in Disney. All that stress just melts away and it is nothing but pure fun.

Also (at both DL and WDW) I know I'm there when I hear the pirates chanting..."We wants the redhead!!!" :p pirate:

Then when I see the huge mickey shaped telephone pole I'm giddy to the point of no return!
We drive over from the Tampa area to camp at FW often and the Mickey shaped pole is what we look for as well. It means we take the next exit and head home to FW.

When we enter our room at our resort, I give a big sigh of relief because I know I'm home. Then I do the happy dance with my kids.

This is mine EXACTLY!!!! When we drive under the sign I start to yell and scream and sometimes cry. We, as a family, know the party has started and we are THERE!!!!

It's not real until I see Main Street. Just something about looking down the street and see the horse pulled trolly. I never even ride it, I just have to see it.

For all of you who are crying out there - I am sitting at my desk crying and my asst just buzzed in here and wanted to know if everything was ok.

For me it's definately the monorail at the airport. But I also get the same feeling when I leave the air conditioned plane and feel the humidity and heat while walking through the tunnel getting off the plane into the terminal.

I love that feeling.
