when do your kids get out for summer vacation?

Here in Florida most schools get out May 21st which gives us about two weeks to use our Fla Resident Seasonal Pass before black-out dates for the Summer starts...We go at this time of year almost every year....The crowds start to build on Memorial Day Weekend and continue though out the Summer. The weather (heat & rain) will be a factor so be sure to take advantage of EMH then head back to your Resort early for rest and a swim. We then return to another Park that didn't have EMH for late afternoon and evening.

Thanks for th info - that is all very helpful to know. We did WDW last year between the 7th and 15th. Crowds were mild to start and growing until the day we left.

I'm afraid to give an actual date because that will jinx us-we'll end up getting out later due to a ton of snow days Suffice it to say that here in western Ma. we are getting out the end of June!

My kids are currently scheduled to get out on June 15th.....of course some years we have NO snow days, and some we have loads.....

Having lived in NJ my whole life, school always got out toward the end of June. I never knew there were other schedules! Since all schools must be in session 180 days, now I'm really curious to know what the school holidays and return to school dates are for those who get out in May!

Since you asked - here is the calendar for our district in Minnesota (I think we only have 170-some days mandated - that isn't a Federal requirement):

Off 2 days in October for teachers workshops.
One day in November for conferences
Two days for Thanksgiving
A week for Christmas
MLK day
Presidents day
Elementary kids get a day in March
Week for Spring Break (March 22-25)
Two days in April - spread out
Memorial day
Done June 2 or 3rd.

But then they also started on August 7th. We have 180 days mandated.

We are in Texas, 180 days here. We start in Aug. and are out late May. We decided to miss the long weekend crowds, so we arrive on Memorial day (I figure that will be a travel day for a lot of people). That puts us there on Gay Days, but who really cares.

i didn't start back to school till the wed after labor day this year...180 days mandated...was scheduled to get out june 18, a friday...snow day today bumped us to june 21 and we typically (in an average winter) have 2-3 snowdays AFTER x-mas...if this is anything like last winter we'll probably have 4-5 days to make up at the end of the year...ughhh...and i know this will sound strange to southerners but nh schools are not air conditioned and late june can be hot and muggy...
