When do schools in Florida get out for the summer?

We are thinking about a mid May trip and I think I had heard the schools in Flordia get out earlier than June. Does any one know?

Yes. The schools begin to recess for the summer starting with the beginning of May. Most, if not all are released by the end of May.

We're in NW Florida, and we get out on May 21st.

We're in Hillsborough County (Tampa) and our last day is Thurs, 5/27. Yipee! We finally get an entire Memorial Day Weekend off without having to go back to school on Tuesday.

When do you start school??? In Massachusetts we never get out before the 16th or 17th of June, and that's if there are no snow days (which I know you don't have!). We usually start around the 25th of August.

We're just North of Orlando and get out the end of May...the 27th I think. We started August 4th...way earlier then we did in Michigan.

Dade County doesn't get out until June this year. Next year has us going back earlier and getting out at the end of May.
