What do you actually put under the tree before Christmas Eve?

We don't have family around so there aren't any "for relatives" gifts to wrap and fill under there.

The kids are getting a Wii and Wii stuff this Christmas, but I don't want to put the Wii or games under the tree yet.

So far, the "little stuff" is under there.....puzzles and games and things like that.

How do you do it?

When the children were little, nothing went under the tree. Santa left everything Christmas Eve, and Mom and Dad added theirs then too. Now it is as they are wrapped for the most part.

Since Santa leaves most gifts, most gifts show up on Christmas Eve after children are asleep. Mom and Dad tend to put their gifts out then too, less temptation for our nutty cats that way!

As they are wrapped, but we don't wrap until we get a tree and since DD9's bday is 12-15 we let her say when we get our tree. So, no tree just yet, that won't happen until next weekend. Then I'll start wrapping gifts and putting them under the tree. :) Santa does not wrap gifts, he just puts them under the tree. :)

Anything not from Father Christmas goes under as soon as the tree goes up and as they are wrapped.

I always liked as a bigger kid (after learning about Father Christmas) to see the presents for me under the tree, it really built up the suspense.

Although if you can't rely on them not sneaking a peak that may not be a great idea.

Nothing goes under our tree until Christmas Eve after the kids are in bed. We do Santa, but Santa only brings one thing and that is unwrapped. The kids are always so amazed when they see the surprise of all of the wrapped gifts under the tree on Christmas morning. When our kids get older, we will probably just put them out as they are wrapped. Right now, my closet is full of stuff waiting to be wrapped.

Everything goes under the tree when it is wrapped except the 3 items that Santa will bring for each child. This year ds8 has been sure to tell everyone he knows that Santa is not real so there will be no extra gifts put out for him on Christmas Eve.

Children's gifts go under on x-mas eve. The ones from Santa and mommy and daddy. Relatives gifts ll go under as soon as I can deal with all that wrapping:headache:

Anything not form Sants goes under as soon as it is wrapped. DD knows better than to shake/mess with them. When she was small (under 3) we wouldn't put them out until christmas eve.

We don't do Santa at our house, but I still don't put any of the kids presents under the tree until Christmas Eve. I like making them wait

All other relatives/friends presents are there now. I like having a few presents under there to make it look festive

Now, everything as its wrapped. Which is hopefully pretty quickly after it comes home.

When the kids were little, family gifts as they were wrapped, Santa gifts once the kids were asleep (not in bed - it was HOURS between bed and asleep).

Our tags say "Santa" still and younger kids who notice are told that Santa sometimes drops things off at older kid's houses before Christmas, so he doesn't have so many stops on Christmas Eve.

I thought we might have problems with my two (2 and 3) but neither have bothered with the presents.

The decorations and a missing candy cane or two is another matter.

Nothing goes under the tree until about 4:00am on Christmas Day.

When the kids wake up on Christmas Day, they see a slew of presents. Most from Santa and some from Mom and Dad.

When the kids were younger, everything went under the three on Christmas Eve. Now that they are older, everything goes under when it's wrapped. I still have a few Santa gifts, but they are under everything else in the back so the young nieces and nephews won't notice them when they are here. I really couldn't say which method I like better. It was fun surprising the kids with a full tree on Christmas morning doing it the old way. But now, the kids enjoy the suspense of seeing the gifts and I like how it adds to the tree (like more decorations).

Well...Santa still visits here.So nothing goes under the tree till Santa comes Christmas eve:goodvibes

A tree without presents looks naked :scared1:! Anything from relatives or to relatives, friends, teachers, or neighbors goes under as it arrives, until it leaves. It is a revolving arrangment. When friends drop by there is usually something the kids are anxious to deliver to them... :santa:

Presents go out as they are wrapped. Santa has stopped visiting, but when he did his presents went out about 11:59 pm on Christmas Eve, unwrapped and waiting to be discovered on the coffe table.

I don't like a naked tree -- but I have one right now. All I have so far for ds is books, and shirts and ties for dh -- and they'll immediately know what they are so I'll wait until I can hid them a little better.

I asked my DD4 yesterday "if I put present under the tree will you leave them alone until Christmas" her answer was "no" so I guess I am waiting until christmas eve.
