are they allowed to give you a copy?

No. They are not an agency, so they are unable to provide you a copy. At least thats how our bank is. They do need to provide the name of the agency used though.

I'm not sure, but I think anytime someone pulls your credit rating, you are entitled to a free copy. I know if you are ever denied a loan for whatever reason you are entitled to a free copy.

It may vary by state though.

If a company does pull your credit and denies you for any reason, you are then entitled to a free copy provided it is requested within 60 days of the inquiry date...you need to contact the reporting agency directly.

Only if you are denied are you entitled to a free copy... They can't give you a copy, but could let you look at it.

Actually, this also may vary from state to state - or may have changed - it's been awhile, but I worked in the credit office of a major department store and we processed most of our own credit apps. there.
We were NOT allowed to show the customer their credit report - just refer them to the agency we used to pull the report.
