What's the cat food you're having issues with? Dry or wet?

Every time I see someone mention pet food it makes me freak out a little bit lol.

So far we haven't had any issues with the wet food which is purina one smartblend pate. While we primarily buy the turkey flavor our cat isn't picky about the flavor and will do the chicken or beef and likely even the seafood one.

So far we've only had 1 blip of an issue recently. We get ours primarily from Petsmart. About a month and a half ago I ordered 24 cans (as that's 1 case worth so it's easy normally for them to just give me one that hasn't been opened yet and is still packaged all up in plastic) but they only gave my husband 12. Normally if they can't fulfill an order as it was ordered I get an e-mail that they had to adjust it. This time I didn't get an e-mail and it was because they never logged it as an incomplete order. If I had been the one to pick it up I would have told them to just give me 12 cans of a different flavor but in the moment my husband didn't think to ask that so what they immediately offered up is they would just cancel the order electronically, thus giving me a refund for the whole order (which was a bit over $20 when that was for 24 cans) and then have us just keep the cans. But that's been the only bigger issue. Usually if a location hasn't had 24 or 48 cans (as sometimes I purchase 48 at a time) I can select a different one that has it.

Now his dry food has always been harder to find because it doesn't seem like they stock it very much. It's the Purina One Healthy Metabolism/Ideal Weight formula. Way back last year there was an issue when it didn't seem like anyone had it in stock but Amazon and Chewy but the price was about $15 more than normal (which Chewy was the same price but Amazon was 2 day shipping) but haven't had issues since.

Okay now to go knock on wood that I'm not jinxing myself

I would look into feeding them raw. I order mine from a company called Darwin's and they ship it 2 day air frozen. As far as I know, they are not having any issues since they use the same meat that we would eat, my cats like the chicken. Not to mention the health benefits to it that can eliminate their food sensitivities because it is their natural diet. It is expensive, but with research and the right ingredients and supplements, you can even make your own.

If we get too many more issues this will probably be the route we go.

I don't mind shortages on my end, if I can't get the particular variety of whatever and it's not medically needed I can handle the inconvenience but it's totally different when talking about my pet

That's what we're using right now, those 4... just concerned because there are 4-5 other varieties that are gone. If those disappear next? And the turkey was really, really bad - dry and crumbly - for a while!

I don't think Chick-fil-A is more or less popular. I think there are more people in the drive thru because the dining room is closed in many cases or people have just gotten used to only getting their food to go.

If you attempt the serve the same number of people only in the drive thru, the line is going to be longer compared to when some of the same people were served in the dining room.

There are two Chick-fil-A near me. One has reopened the dining room, the other has not.

Their drive thru line at the one with an open dining room is mostly back to pre pandemic length. The dining room has people in it but not as many as before the pandemic. I suspect many that used to eat in the dining room are still in the drive thru line.

The other one has not opened the dining room due to staffing issues. Their drive thru still backs out onto the road despite having added a second drive thru lane long ago. At peak breakfast, lunch, and dinner hours, the line is 15-20 minutes. I am one of the 30% and just drive on past this location.

Went grocery shopping last night - got everything we needed BUT had a heck of a time finding a non-expired gallon of milk. Yesterday was Nov 7, the latest expiration date on any type of store brand milk was Nov 3. Some were all the way back to Oct dates. Not sure what that was about.

We are also having trouble finding some chemicals we need at work. One that we use a lot of has been backordered for over a month and won't arrive for at least another 2 weeks if the current date doesn't change. I had a gallon hoarded away, but I'm about to use the last of that today. The backup chemical that we use is backordered as well, but not for nearly as long as the main one. It's supposed to come in tomorrow. If it doesn't then I'm dead in the water until one of them shows up.

Pretty much. I read that one idea is that we shifted from consumers of services to goods when the recession hit. For example, we used to go the gym and pay a membership. Now, we buy exercise equipment. This put stress on the supply chain and continues. It doesn't help that we still shutdowns happening.

Did you see what happened with Disney in China? One case shutdown the park. I can't imagine what's happening in production and shipping over there.

It's sad we are so dependent on a single source outside of the US. It can be/is very disruptive

Their fast food options and quality... above average and the customer service is awesome They NEVER appeared to be affected by the labor shortage either. I hate that curbside service has disappeared from many Chick-Fil-A locations. It was VERY efficient. Although they move you through their lines quickly. A long line (20 vehicles) at Chick-Fil-A vs most other FF restaurants 6-7 cars...fairly equal in wait times.

DGD's allergy shot was cancelled last week because she finished her vial and new ones had not arrived.
She was not the only one. Several that had finished their vials didn't get new ones delivered

I did read the link.

Increased sales could be because people were sick and tired of eating at home the entire prior year of the pandemic. It would be really hard to attribute the increased sales to simply an increase in popularity.

Their dining rooms being closed on the other hand had to contribute to the longer drive thru lines.

I ordered a couch and armchair back in April. At the time they said the latest it would come in was August. Last time I called they were saying Nov/Dec. I'm afraid to call again I also put in an order for a new car because there is nothing on the lots around here. It's not like I'm requesting crazy modifications - there just aren't any vehicles whatsoever so if I want it, I have to put in an order. One salesman said that he had just gotten a Denali for a customer that they had ordered 6 months previously. I am hoping I will get my car before 6 months but I'm not holding my breath.

My friends and I have a bet on which will get here first - furniture or car.

Speaking of milk, is it just me or does anyone else seem to have issue with it going bad several days before the expiration date on label?

A few months back I was having that issue with milk I bought at Meijer. I stopped buying it from there for awhile, but it is now back to being fine.

My son accidentally did in one of our garage doors in September. Fortunately, it was the single car door. They said it would take 8-16 weeks to get in. Hearing and reading all these delay stories I had no hope we would get it before the snow started. However, I received a call today and they are installing it tomorrow. I am so happy his car is getting back in before the bad weather.
