What's your favorite breed of dog?

growing up we had a daschund mix and a lab, in college I had a rottie and eventually kept one of her pups - my user name Lilly and Gator. They are both passed on. Rottweilers are my all time favorite. But at this point in our life a large dog is just not going to get enough from us. We have a lab/shepard mix - Tebow, who we don't give enough attention to, need to do more. He's just so much to handle on a walk DH is pretty much the only one who can walk him. He doesn't seem to mind though, he likes laying around.

We know have two miniature chi-pom's.....love them. Love the small breed - the girls can walk them and handle them and they are awesome so far.

Boxers for us. There's nothing like a kidney bean dance and boxer wiggles! :goodvibes

My family loves the German Shepherd we had two. We had to put down our oldest earlier this year it broke my heart. They are just so smart. And really a good family dog. We still have his younger sister she is 11 now. We have also had a Doberman, a Husky.

One day I think maybe a Poodle but who knows what will come along.

Boy does everyone have super cute dogs.

I am loving the pic's and comments about everyones dogs!!!

I've had:
German Shepard ( learned to walk holding onto her!)
Scottish Terriers ( never ever again!)
Doxie mix
Cairn Terrier ( she was a sweet dog)
German Shepard/Husky/Collie mix ( dumb as a rock-but he outran a firetruck!)
Husky (I think she was Houdini reincarnated!)
Labrador Retriever- she was my best friend and my first baby. I miss her terribly, we lost her 3 months ago ( a week before we left for Disney) They truly are the best dogs ever.

Someday if I can ever think about getting another dog, I'd look into an English Mastiff, Newfie,Great Dane or Bernese Mountain Dog. I don't think I could ever own another Lab, it would break my heart.

I have owned a miniature (not teacup) poodle growing up, my parents got a border collie just as I went to college, and I have with my husband a big lab mix and a lab. I loved all these dogs and would definitely get another lab in a heartbeat; my lab mix and lab are my babies. I also love shiba inus, huskies, malamutes, mastiffs, great danes, great pyrenees, newfoundlands - I really like big hulking sweeties. :)

I love all dogs but interestingly the only ones I don't think are terribly cute are the long low ones like dachsunds, bassetts and corgis. Really the only dogs I'm not crazy about are small dogs that are mean/yappy (there are exceptions, but these are mostly chihuahuas, pomeranians and dachsunds in my experience - and I would like individual dogs of these breeds that were quiet and consistently affectionate/trustworthy) and though I appreciate and like dogs like Rottweilers, etc, I don't have enough faith in myself to give them the proper training to ensure that they will be the good dogs they can be. Though I think pugs and english bulldogs are cute, I think the snuffling/snoring/other noises would get to me.

I have owned a whole bunch of dogs covering many breeds, but I have never owned either of my two favorite breeds.... Bernese Mountain Dogs or Neapolitan Mastiffs.

What's your favorite breed of dogs, and did you actually own one?

BTW, growing up, or own my own, I have owned

1. Irish Setter
2. Boxer
3. Golden Retriever
4. Lab mixes
5. Mutt
6. Australian Shepperd
7. St. Bernard / German Shepperd mix

Bolded are my current dogs. Will NEVER own an Aussie again, even though he is pretty much a good dog.

We LOVE our Vizsla !! She is practically perfect in every way. :cheer2:

grew up with a spitz (alice) cockapoo (missy) got those two when I was a year old. terrier mix (spotcie) her in jr. high. some black rat thing (it was my sisters) yellow lab (scout, my daughters) red healer (sarge) I look back and think wow i loved those dogs and could go on and on about them and I remeber how they each passed on. Then DH kids and I had a boxer (jojo) kidney bean dancer. she is in another home now.

we are wanting a new dog.
Bull mastiff
Neo. mastiff
newfoundland
irish wolf hound
great dane

reason for a big dog DS4 is afraid of little dogs, he loves the big ones. He wants to name it mouse!

The Komondor

I currently have 2

**

**Not my dogs. Although my dogs are direct descendents of the dog on the rock. The kom jumping was actually an album cover for Beck.

I will always have a Komondor. But if I wanted to change things up and add another dog, it would be either a Bergamasco or a Black Russian Terrier.

They are beautiful.

I love my 175lb English Mastiff. She looks almost identical to the male in the new movie Hotel for Dogs.

By the way, she is an indoor dog.

I love English Mastiffs. Muy neighbors have 4 and a St. B. They are all so sweet. One of them doesn't understand how big he is and loves to lean on my leg when he sees me. When we are at Petco, he makes people laugh.

I love cockers. I had 2 growing up, and have 2 now-Pepper & Bailey. We found Bailey at the pound even though she was a pure bred, so we named her Bailey since we bailed her out of jail.

We have owned labs and lab mixes. We currently have a lab mix puppy about 12 weeks old, named Jasper.

My Christmas present is a husky. DD named her Aspen. I've never had a husky before, and she is great. DD was fascinated that she got muddy today and cleaned herself up within a few minutes.

There really are no breeds I don't like. I don't think I would want a teacup (pocket?) chihuahua, though. I had friends that had one that was so fragile I was afraid I would hurt it.

My Mastiff (Willow) is the same. She fully believes she is the size of my dad's Boston Terrier. Therefore, she is fully comfortable in squeezing all 175lbs and happy tail in your lap. She doesn't understand how large she is -so sometimes you have to push her to get her to move. She will be looking at you like, "Why haven't you gotten in front of me?" When she doesn't get the fact that she is blocking the space. She also gets these speedy hyper moments when she acts like the Boston Terrier, and procedes to run and jump on the furniture. She has nearly knocked over the couch and recliner. Oh and don't walk past her without saying hello and scratching her belly because she has a tendence to knock you with a paw and jump in an unexpecting lap.

She is the best dog I have ever had. I will always have Mastiffs. I fully believe they are the best family dog because they are velcro dogs and extremely loving and protective. My 8 yr old son adores her.

growing up we had 2 goldens who i loved and wouldn't hurt a flea but they had so many health issues i don't know if i could get another. right now we have a welsh terrier and she's awesome! great size, hypo-allergenic, non-shedding, and so stinkin' smart. she really does have a mind of her own and understands quite a bit of english. however, they are certainly not for everyone. she works great for our family but she does not do well around young kids. she sure is a cutie though :goodvibes

ADORABLE! What sweet little babies!

We have chihuahuas. We love smaller breeds too.

We've had a Dalmation, Brittany Spaniel, various mixes, and we have a Pekingese and Chihuahuas right now. We love all types of dogs but really enjoy the small dogs.

Here is our white pekingese. They are often killed at birth because the AKC doesn't recognize their coloring.

We have one too. She's an albino.

She's the best little thing. Minds her own business. Not much of a cuddler but a great dog!

Awww, she is so sweet :goodvibes . My mom had a white Peke, but she was stolen. I'll have to see if my mom has a picture of her. I just love their personalities. My older peke has redish hair and the other is more of a fawn color.

That's terrible that she was stolen! Poor baby. I'd love to get another peke. She's never given us any problems. I'd like to get a fawn color when we get another one.
