Let's keep this simple.

Here are a few of ours:

  • Before the trip we visit the Disney store and buy matching Ts (if they are on sale).
  • Visit "The World Market" and buy a big bag of Hawaii Kettle Style Sweet Maui Onion potato chips to snack on for the drive down. We do it every trip.
  • Bring in Blueberry Pomegranate and at least one bottle of Cranberry Juice Cocktail to drink in the room.
  • Choose a couple of Disney CDs to listen to on the trip down. Try to be the first to pick the song.

I'll add more as I think of them. What does your family do every trip before, during or after that has become a tradition?

Pecos Bills' chicken wrap. Me and my mom have been eating it since 2000 (our first trip) and it just holds a special meaning to us.

There's a bike at Animal Kingdom. I believe it's in one of the trails. It's a rusty, old bike used as a prop. Ever since our first trip, my mom has taken a picture of me next to it and seen me grow up. We get one every year.

* Immediately walk through the Castle at MK and DL
* DDs have to eat at least one chocolate covered strawberry
* Silhouettes of DDs - only at WDW
* Chocolate/caramel covered marshmallows for me

-My mom, daughter and I all have matching hats we bought at Epcot and we wear them at Epcot every year.

-Step one at MK is a pic in front of the castle, then a quick stop into the Main St Bakery for goodies!

-Dinner at Tonys on party night. Tradition!

-Spend the last night of our vacation at MK until closing. My DD and I wait until then to go on our own private shopping spree, and we grab one last frozen latte (for me) and frozen strawberries & cream (for her) before we leave.

When we first arrive at the MK it HAS to be by Monorail...and we go all the way around the circle through the three hotels first and then around again to the MK entrance! :dance3:
My family knows to let Mom get her favorites out of the way first, and then they can enjoy the rest of the day. So we first ride the TTA, then Buzz..then quickly down the back pathway by Space M. to the train. Take it as far as Frontierland and high tail it to the right to POC. :cheer2:
Also, everytime we go to the MK, dear hubby and I get our picture kissing in the pink gazebo behind Minnie's House in Toontown!

Some things we do:

  • go to MK on the first day of the trip and always ride It's a Small World first.
  • spend the last evening of the trip at MK and stay for the fireworks.
  • have at least one dinner at Le Cellier.
  • take a picture of each of our daughters(now 10 and 7) next to this little snowman at Hollywood Studios somewhere near Muppets 3D.

Okay, I always take a pic of DD19 at the bus stop in CBR, standing with her feet apart and her arms spread wide. She's sure grown up since I started that, lol! Hopefully I can get her to do it this year still! Always have to go to Casey's for hot dogs(or corn nuggets now) after we've walked through the stores on the left of Main St. in MK, and always watch the cartoons. I don't know that we always did it on purpose, but we always go to Pirates ride first. We always have to eat outside on the patio of CBR's food court with a burger and fries at least once early, usually to start trip (though last year we did Kona's the first night) and our last meal of the trip. We try to shop at the CBR gift store when we get there just to see the new stuff and get us started. We always get at least one water bottle and use all week, refilling, and bring home to use. We always get a couple pressed pennies, a couple beach towels and at least one, probably 2 - 3 Xmas ornaments, get Mickey's choc. covered raisins and carmels for the room, and the Mickey pretzels, one refill mug our first day, and a bunch of new character pens which I use all year. We never do rope drop, so we sleep in and close the park we are at, with MK on at least half our days of the trip, and always on the last night till the very end, stopping to shop in the emporium for last min stuff trying to avoid leaving. I love watching the castle all lit up and we eat at least once at Cosmic Rays outside to watch the castle lights and take a rest. I also take phone pic of the Wishes fireworks and the castle to get something really cool for the pic on my phone! I've gotten some very ones! And we always must go through Mickey and Minnie's houses with pic in the same spots and the grounds and the mailbox. Oh, and we always get Orange chicken to share in China in Epcot, even if we've eaten. Some silly traditions but these are things we always must do! Can't wait to start again on Jan 2nd! :mickeyjum:goofy::donald:

Go to Magic Kingdom/disneyland on first day
Get turkeylegs and take our pictures with them
Buy chocolate covered apples and take our pictures with them
Grandma and the kids (ds-6, dd2) always wear thier matching fanny packs

-Eat at Crystal Palace last saturday
-Watch MK July 4th fireworks on grand floridian beach after eating at 1900 park fare.
-Chef Mickey's on July 4th for breakfast

that's pretty much it

Its funny the traditions we all have around Disney! I love it!:goofy:
We also HAVE to eat one of those turkey legs at Epcot while we listen to British Invasion or (my favorite!)Bjorn Again(GREAT ABBA music!!)
I'm starting to get excited about our trip next summer, but I still have a long wait...

Walking down "Main Street USA"...
Taking the kids' pictures in front of the Castle...
Breathing deep and smiling........

:goodvibes

At HS, the first ride we ride is Star Tours.

On the last night of our trip, we always ride the train around the MK at least one full trip--or more!

Dole Whip.

I've been to Disney a few times with my family and we didn't have any traditions or anything, but my bf and I are going for the 2nd time in 2 years this September and I'm looking forward to doing some things that we did last year this trip, and making our own traditions! One thing we did last year that we're doing again this year is ending our trip at Epcot. I don't know why, I think because it was an EMH night last year, but I just wanted to repeat it again, so I think that will be something we will always do! I also want to get lunch at the Earl of Sandwich on our first day before hitting a park, we did that last year as well! :cool1:

Burn a new Disney CD with as many Disney ride/attraction songs as we can find, and see who can guess what they are first. I like to throw some background or "que" music (or pre/postshow music) in there as well.

And just a quick question, where do you find Disney ride music? I would LOVE to put some on my Ipod, but I don't know where to find it!

I have been so many times that I'm sure I have some traditions, but I know that for the past 12 years my family and I always go for labor day in Sept., F+W festival in Oct., Martin Luther King weekend in Jan. and one time in spring between March and July.

:dumbo:- we always get the kids' pictures in the jail next to Zurg in the Buzz lightyear ride

- we always try to get to each park at rope drop

- dole whips!

- a new tradition - MVMCP on our first night in disney!

:tinker:

Some of our traditions:
- renting a pontoon boat (we have only actually done this once -- on our last trip, but we had so much fun we plan to make it a new tradition)
- buying chocolates from a shop in the Contemporary
- riding TTA at night
- making a last minute stop at DTD on our way out for any last minute souvenirs, to use up meal credits if needed, eat lunch, etc.
- buy a Christmas ornament from the Christmas shop in DTD

~First park - always MK
~First ride - always POTC
~Last dinner - always Chef Mickey the night before we fly out

~New tradition started this year - singing "Let's go Fly a Kite" at random times throughout the day!

The day we fly in we always go to Magic Kingdom for our first park and have lunch at Cosmic Rays. It starts off the trip just right!

Getting a bucket of popcorn at HS and just sitting on one of the benches with the umbrellas. It's a nice break and man I love that popcorn!!

Our last day, again spent at MK, we have breakfast at Crystal Palace

Taking silly pictures in an empty car of the monorail :goodvibes

DS (now 13) and I always go to MK on 1st day. We always end our day on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority Train. We usually spend two-three rides going around Tomorrowland, through Space Mt., Buzz ect. This year we arrive on Aug. 23rd. Our favorite ride to unwind from the park is not going to be open until after the 24th. We have a packed 1st week as we invited my son's friend and his mother. They have never been to WDW before. I haven't done comando style for years. They are staying with us at AKLVC for 6 nights then after they leave we are switching to BCV for 5 more nights. We will really need to rest after they leave. Looking forward to TTA opening for our mother/son ride even if it isn't the 1st night.

We take the kids pictures in from of Caseys on main street. I can't believe how much my kids have grown.
Of course crystal palace breakfast and liberty tree dinner.
We have a lot more, I just can't think of them now.
We are on the count down to our trip.
Can't wait.
