Whats you favorite sound at the fort?

My absolute favorite sound was always the peacocks calling from the trees. Sadly, they are gone. :sad2:

The next favorite sound is the boat whistle....:cloud9:

Funny story about the EWP. On our first trip there way back in 2000, we had the camper in the 700 loop. It was our first night there. The kids were much younger and after the long drive from PA, we called it a night early. All of a sudden, LOUD music filled the air! It lasted to a good bit of time too! I couldn't figure out why Disney would allow someone to play such loud music at that time of night! Took a few moments for me to realize what it was!

:rotfl: i hate loud music .....but that EWP is music to my ears :goodvibes

My favorite sound is not a sound at all. It is the lack of the sound of the parks. We stay in the cabins but spend alot of time outside.

The Whiper wills (sp?)
The boat whistle and the buses. (DH drives semi so I like the sound of the diesel engines). they lull me to sleep at night

My family and I are big Trail's End fans! I miss the clanking of the heavy metal dishes and the CMs with their southern accents :)

living in the city, I can appreciate the sounds of nature... the trees swaying and birds chirping. I also enjoy the sound of the boat whistle from loop 200.

my favorite sound there would have to be sitting at our campsite watching and hearing the fireworks from MK. I also love all the music around Trails End

I love the sound of an armadillo rooting around outside my tent in the middle of the night. I always wake up, scared, until I remember it's just an armadillo! :goodvibes

I can't say I like the sound of the race track that we hear so clearly..:sad2:

lol, I love that sound! Although I can't say we hear it clearly, we MIGHT hear it once a trip if that, and it's not really that loud, at least it never seemed that loud.

Nothing beats the sound of a race car, although I do understand how some people wouldn't like it ;)

I love nascar but I didn't book my vacation at Daytona either.....

I bet they wish they built that track further out .......its terribly loud at the Poly:listen:

I am camping near Homestead for the Nascar race this year! I won't mind the noise at all!

Yes, it is very loud at the Poly. :(

We just camped at NHIS in Loudon for the race last weekend. Now that's loud. I've never heard the race track from FW.

You'll have a blast, we've camped out near Homestead for a few races in the past, I'm not sure what campground you're going to but there is one that has a cabana bar right in the middle with live music. Last time I went there it was a blast, quite a few interesting characters ;)

At least they don't run the cars at night, but can you hear them even in your room? I don't ever remember it being that loud when I stayed at the Poly a couple years ago, maybe that you could hear it outside, but that really isn't a big deal to me.

I think it is The Richard Petty Driving Experience..........

I can't for the life of me see why they built it that close to the most popular resort at the world.........:confused3

Tuff to take a nap in a hammock in the afternoon at the poly :cloud9: unless I have a few pinacalodas

The favorite sound at FW is the final idle of my MH's engine and then the shut down of that engine. At that point I know we are planted at the Fort for our stay and all sounds there-after are simply icing on the cake, that is until the engine starts back up to take us home.
