What's the youngest you have or would take a baby to WDW?

We travel a fair amount and are tempted by the free dining. However, we'll have a tiny baby at that time. How young is too young? I'm breastfeeding and would probably wear the baby the whole time, if that makes a difference. I'd love to hear your experiences in travelling with a young one. (Not too young to fly, mind you)

We took DD when as was 2 weeks old (no flaming needed). DH and I travel a lot and traveled all through my pregnancy, plus the doctors ok'd both of us to go. DD slept most of the trip and was a breeze to travel with. One of us wore her in the front pack or would place her in her stroller to sleep. She went on most rides in her front pack too.

Dinsey had baby care centers in each park, (some are nicer than others) and there are special rooms for breastfeeding moms in each. DD and I would just park ourselves in there for a while while DH and SIL would go on rides.

Most of the time that we would sit down to eat she was in the front pack, but a few places (Chef Mickey's being one) have infant high chairs. Just request one and if avaialble they will bring it too you. WCC let us bring our stroller to the table so that she could sleep.

You will be the ultimate decision maker on this. Do what you feel is comfortable, and be prepared to adapt to a little one (and weather). And most importantly enjoy your trip.

I took DD at 4 mos. It was a March trip. Weather was nice and coming from the Northeast it was nice to get out of the house and walk around. She's two and a half now and a wonderful traveler and is extremely well behaved in restaurants...I say go for it! Have fun

We took our DD at 2months. she was great, just took our time and split up a couple time for my DD2 year old. The only thing that i would say if you come in the summer it is hot! I would sugest a stroller with cover and lots of sun tan lotion. And lots of water for you

We took our youngest with us for a day trip to EPCOT when she was 13 days old! (Approved by our ped). She was perfect! She slept the whole time cozily in her stroller except every 3 hours when we would go to the Baby Station to nurse. And we had a fantastic time!

We took her to Magic Kingdom when she was 5 weeks old and had an identical experience! The Baby Station by Main Street was wonderful and we had no problems at all.

The first time we went "overnight" with her was a 3 night stay when she was 8.5 months old. That was a tiny bit more challenging but nothing terrible. I really think it is easier to go when they are infants (up to 3 months) than when they are older babies/toddlers. My youngest is 2.5 now and a real Disney fan like her older siblings and her Dad!

We went last Sept w/ our kids, youngest dd 3 mo. She stayed in the stroller or Baby Bjorn most of the time. I used the Baby Care Centers for BFing some especially during the heat of the day for a nice break. I'm not one to BF in public but I did BF on alot of the rides or during shows. DH would ask for the back row of the rides. She did great and it was a fairly easy trip. Remember, if it's really hot, you might need to allow for an extra nursing or 2 to prevent dehydration.

In restaurants, we would try to get a table with one side having booth type seating and I would let her lie down and kick.

Also, my ped. gave my samples of Blue Lizard sunscreen specifically for babies, it is safe to use on babies under 6 mo.

Okay, good. I did check with the airline to see how old the baby had to be to fly, and they just say over 14 days. I can't imagine flying with a teensy one, but I'm sure it's done. We assume (based on my due date) that the baby will be just about 2 months old when we would potentially go. I think flying with a baby for 2 hours on a nonstop flight would be far easier than driving 15 hours each way.

And we tend to do WDW at a snail's pace, anyway. We have several kids and have seen everything we've "needed" to see and experience at least twice now. (Except Crush - I hope that's back in action). We are big fans of going in the morning, swimming in the afternoon, and returning at sunset, anyway. I'm sure it will be hot, but I think with proper hydration and suncover we can do it.

That said, would you put the baby in a stroller with the extended sunshades or would you use a front carrier and a sun hat?

We're planning on taking a 3 month old in October. We have APs and are DVC members so it won't be a commando trip. Planning on using the stroller and the Bjorn as need be and just taking it easy, lots of breaks and quiet times.

If it is hot, I wouldn't want to be carrying her/him around - it's like holding a heat bomb! I think both of you would be cooler if you used the stroller...and I think she would get better sun protection that way too, even if wearing a hat in the front carrier.

We went when our DD was 2 months. We didnt go in any parks, just had a nice relaxing weekend at WL and went to DTD and the Westside.

We went when DD was 6 months also. That time we went in some parks. It was great!

Way to go! My daughter self-weaned during my pregnancy - she was around 20 months. I've had the honor of nursing in just about every cool show, quiet ride, and out of the way park bench (discreetly) at WDW. Thank goodness for quality nursingwear I plan to invest in a few new pieces for this trip as well.

Now - does anyone have a good stroller recommendation for a tiny baby? We've always used carriers, but I think that you're right - that it would be like holding a heat bomb

We mostly use our maclaren strollers at WDW, but I know that won't work well for sun protection with a new baby.

We did Disneyland Paris with a 6 month old without problems whatsoever. Heck, we did all of Europe between the ages of 4 weeks to 8 months! I breastfed the entire time with no problems. If you are comfy with it.. do it!

Me Personally,5yrs. Is The Youngest That I Would Take To Disney.
I Do Not Have To Be Bothered With How Many Diapers,bottles, I Would ,along With Stroller Worrying About Is There A Crib Or Pack And Play. Also All The Other Stuff That Goes Along With Babies.

We are discussing this same topic a lot at my house too. We're getting close to the time of year where we start planning next year's vacation (that way we have a year to save and can stick to our "no trip that can't be paid for in cash" rule). I'm pregnant now so we have to consider that for next year. My answer for DH is that I'd like to go sometime between when baby is sleeping through the night (meaning at the very least waking only once around 6 am but otherwise sleeping from say a late night feeding between 10 and 12 untill 6am) and when s/he becomes mobile. Our boys started sleeping that long between around 8 weeks. I don't want to be worried about inconveniencing those in rooms around us by a crying baby so I want to wait till that point. I like the idea of travelling before baby is mobile though. That way they aren't fighting to get out of the stroller or to have you put them down to crawl through Fantasy Land! We took our oldest DS on a cruise with us at 6 months and that was about perfect for us. We figure we'll go between 2 and 6 months with this one depending on DH's work schedule and DS's school schedule. I would be nursing (provided we have no surprises!) but I'm comfy nursing discretely anywhere I need to so we'd be fine with that.

We are planning to take our 2 month old baby to WDW in June. We can't find any bathing suits for him. I think it would be hard to find . My mom is flying with the baby and me my sister and my dad are driving. princess

My DD will be 9 months old when we go in June. She is still nursing (no bottles) and does not drink from a cup yet so she will be solely dependent on me for liquids. She does eat table food however so I will not need to bring baby food.

They actually have baby bjorns now that are breathable. They are made of a mesh material instead of cloth and are supposed to be much cooler. I saw them at www.onestepeahead.com. That might work better for you as those cloth ones are just so hot!
