What's the Worst Restaurant in all of WDW?

For us it was 1900 Park Fare, we just stood looking at the buffet wondering what we could possible eat, the food looked really picked over and just plain was not good.

Second : SciFi...never in my life had a hamburger so gross and the onion rings were cold too.

I guess it's just luck of the draw.

That's just it. All these restaurant reviews have to be taken with a grain--no, make that a dumptruck--of salt. Reading here, and also over at AllEars, you most often get bad reviews of everybody's horror stories.

I have only been to Disney once so far in recent memory, and did not have a single "horror" meal. All the bad reviews really make me fear aren't the particular restaurants in question, but rather the "horror meal" that eventually has to happen.

Another vote for San Angel Inn. The only thing worse than the food is the service.

OHana--did not enjoy it at all. Of course the fact that we could not get silverware did not help.

I think it's interesting that A LOT of these repeat themselves. And A LOT of these are over at HS...you think Disney would get the hint!! I am a fan of 50s Prime Time, but it's about the only place we'll eat over there (including CS!) And we like it for lunch only!! So here's my pick for the worst eateries on property, ummm...sorry HS, looks like you're only gonna get worse...

CS: ABC Commissary (hmmm...think this place needs to go, how many times has it been mentioned?!)
TS: Alfredo's (oh look at that! it isn't there anymore! we used to love it, then we had a number of meals in a row that were just awful, so we stopped going there, we were hesitant to try Tutto when it opened, glad we did!!)

Now, I've had some bad meals, but I don't think it makes that place the "worst" restaurant. Also some meals I didn't care for, wasn't terrible though. Like Mama Melrose, too heavy on the garlic for me. And Tony's was too bland (perhaps they should mix the two!) But the rest was alright, however, not on my list to visit anytime soon. Same with Sci-Fi. If I had kids, might be on my list, but with mediocre food, I can do without the atmosphere. Just not for me!!

I can't put my finger on it, but I've never been "wowed" by the food at Planet
Hollywood. I LOVE the ambiance(although it can be a bit loud), but I think if I
ever go again, I'll just get a burger and a beer.

I just read this entire thread (170 posts!) fairly carefully and no one mentioned our least favorite: The Maya Grill. This either means that no one else has had a bad experience there, or more likely that we are the only people dumb enough to eat there!! :)
Food: average at best - chicken was dry and dh's steak was tough
Service: extremely slow - the meal took over 2 1/2 hours. The waiter actually forgot our appetizer. He offered to bring it after the meal. We saw him only 3 times during or lengthy meal, although the restaurant was nearly empty.
Our theory is that he was the only employee at the Maya, and considering that he was the waiter, prep cook, chef, dishwasher, and manager, he did an awesome job! It was 2 years ago and we still laugh about it! :rotfl2:

We have enjoyed every other meal at WDW!

for me it was Artisit Point, they BURNT my steak!!!!! how can a Signature ding restaurant burn a steak?????

I've read through the entire 12 pages now. I guess I'm just a glutton for punishment. We go in 39 days, have never been before and are eating at Akershus (dinner), Le Cellier (dinner), Crystal Palace (breakfast), Kona (lunch), Sci Fi (dinner), 1900s park fare (dinner) Chef Mickey's (dinner). Of course these have all been mentioned but I am taking them at face value because everyone has different taste and I worked too hard for my ADRs to change them now.

I'm just curious though if any of you have complained or sent your meal back and refused to pay for it if it was so horrible or is that not an option on the DDP?

Debbie

I have wondered the same thing! I was the one who complained about the Maya Grill.
I wanted to complain, but we seriously didn't see our waiter for over 45 minutes after he brought our food. He put it on the table, we told him we didn't get our appetizers, he said he would see what he could do, and poof! :wizard: He was gone.
We felt that since we had invested well over an hour into our meal, we were afraid that it would take another hour to get replacement entrees. Little did we know that our evening was just beginning. When the waiter returned, he offered to bring us the appetizers, but we said no (since we were finishing our meals) and he went back to talk to his manager. That took about 30 minutes, dessert was equally slow, and it seemed like a year and a half before the check finally arrived. By the time he swiped our card and came back, we had spent 2 1/2 hours at the Maya. I think we'd still be there if we had sent the food back! :rotfl2:

For me, the Rainforest Cafe and the Hoop-de-Hoo Review.

The food at the Rainforest Cafe was blah and just simply bad in my opinion. At the Hoop-de-Hoo Review, as I am a vegetarian, I was given pasta as my meal. Booo. While I know that a large portion of the dinner price is for the entertainment, couldn't they have at least given me something with real and balanced nutritional value? I can cook my own spaghetti at home for less than $1 and in less than 5 minutes, so no thanks.

This is typically the option at most restaurants I have ever been to for vegetarians. You must be used to that by now! Considering Hoop De Doo's usual fare is cheap chicken and ribs, I have a hard time imagining what else they would offer. If this were a higher end meal to begin with, I would raise a stink. But for this particular instance...

I am still sorry it was unsatisfying for you! We love HHDR! And even the "cheap meal" is yummy for us meat eaters and foodies!

Sorry it turn out so bad:sad2:, I hope you might one day give them a second chance. We have never been to the Hoop-de-Hoo buthave been to the Rainforest cafe many of times. Some times we catch a place on a bad day,or get a server thats to tired to care just a thought:idea: were was your favorit:)

our two worst restraunts are boma the food was too spicey for our kids and i thought it was horrible and the 2nd is coral reef the service was slow the food was two small for the price and wasnt that great at all we were thier for 2 hours and most of the time was waiting on the food and the waiter

I guess it comes down to hit or miss. I've been to Citricos once years back and it was lovely. We went last April and my steak was very well done the service was very slow. We did ask for them to speed up the service. Maybe they thought that we wanted to take our time. And they did offer to make another steak. But it was ruined for me at that point.

A close second was Tony's.
