What's the weather like @ Vero in August?

I asked this question in the Vero Adoration Thread, but not sure if enough people will see it there, so if any August Vero Beachers could help me out, that would be great!

We just returned from a few days @ Vero on Friday, and we really enjoyed it! We go to WDW each July for approx. 2 weeks, but since the point reallocation cost us, we are going to start going in July one year, and then August next year (cheaper point season). We stay in 1 bedrooms, but we can swing a Vero stay for a few days each year if we stay in a studio.

So, DH wants to go to Vero every other year in July, because he's worried about weather in August because he thinks more chance for hurricanes and rougher waters @ Vero?

For those who have gone in August, what do you think? How is Vero at the end of August?

Thanks a bunch, Tiger :)

We stay in Vero almost every year in August. As is all of Florida that time of year it is HOT but Vero usually has some good ocean breezes. There is always a chance of a hurricane that time of year but a few years back Vero had a hurricane warning so We left 2 days early and Disney returned our points because of the warning. Can't beat the view sitting outside the Green Cabin room and staring at the ocean. Can't wait going in 4 weeks.:cool1:
You can save some more points, stay in the Inn not a studio just as nice with garage parking . Just a suggestion.

The only time we went to Vero in August was the year of Katrina, and the rains and seas were horrible as Katrina was pounding Miami towards the end of our stay. Not that it's going to happen to again, but we haven't been back in August.
We've had our nicest Vero weather in May.:goodvibes

Thanks for the info. We are used to hot as we go to WDW each July, plus, we live in the most humid part of Canada, so we can do hot! We just returned on Friday from staying in an Inn Room for 2 nights, so we weren't sure as it looks like Studios are a wee bit bigger and have a different configuration? Maybe not...?

This is my fear as well - we've been to WDW in August, before we started to travel exclusively in July, and the weather was a bit wacky. Hubby might be right to plan to go to Vero every other year in July. Wish I could go in May, but I'm a teacher, so no May for me. I've been in May as a teen, and again when I was on maternity leave - it's my favourite time of year to be at WDW!

Thanks both for the info, Tiger

Tiger, I'm a teacher too, but only 2 days a week! I still couldn't take a whole week, just a 4 night weekend, but it really was wonderful in May!

That sounds nice! I am a full time highschool teacher, running 1 department and co chair in other, so I'm busy at school. We only get 1 personal day a year, so a long weekend just wouldn't work out for us as I would find it too rushed.

When I retire in 18 years, then I can enjoy May again! Tiger :)

DW and I live just down the coast from the Vero resort. We find that it is hot in the summer but the breeze is always there to make it more comfortable. There are showers and Tstorms but they are usually in the afternoon and do not ruin the day. We like the golf courses after 4pm as the sun get less intense. Hope you enjoy your trip. :cool2:

I've only been to Vero in June and July and it was hot both times. Some showers in June and no rain at all for our trip in July. I'm sure it will be hot in August and I'm sure that there will be some afternoon showers as well.

Honestly, I've been June, July and second week of August. If you plopped me on the beach and asked me to tell you which month it was, I could not do it. they were pretty much the same. Low 90s with afternoon thunderstorms. If anything, the first week of June has been rainier as a whole than other times.

Hurricanes can happen, but they usually don't.

Thanks very much! I know you've spent lots of time @ Vero, so this is helpful!
